That sounds a lot like what Omega did with Summer Blue last year. And they did a Railmaster in denim “at scale” years ago. Is it innovative just because it’s Patek?
FYI The Patek Philippe Ellipse was designed by **Jean-Daniel Rubeli**, a Swiss designer who worked closely with the brand during the 1960s. Not Gerald Genta 👍 Ellipse is probably my favorite Patek under 160k
Sorry to say but I believe you got it wrong here. 1) it‘s not a denim strap, it‘s a calf strap that looks like denim, 2) PP‘s rubber straps on the Aquanaut are far from perfect, plenty of room for improvement, 3) the „complicated“ ladies watch (5269R) for 30k is actually a quartz and far from „a deal“.

I think Michael should explain himself to the community. By focusing on his own projects and own videos he caused a lot of problems to christian and the channel and lots of mean comments regarding Sam and the whole situation. I agree, The Patek´s really were beautiful this year. Love the Denim straps, I can image old school wealth wearing them on the French Rivera in the summer. My favourite from though it the Ellipse. It is so wonderful to see an old school bracelet once again, Not thick, just slim and comfortable. For me it has done everything right.

The 5330G has a blue-gray calfskin with denim pattern strap. That said I don’t care for the strap. Maybe I need to see it in person. I didn’t care for that orange Aquanaut but the 5164G in white gold and blue is very appealing.

Rose gold, with those dial colors on a denim strap is stunning. As a vp of manufacturing for a large company, I have an aversion to rubber strap due to the margin on such a strap being so astronomically high that it’s nearly a scam.

I agree. Promise my self I would never spend over $10,000 on any watch that didn’t have gold as much as dream of adding to my collection a few amazing watches like IWC perpetual calendar,H Moser and other great brands that have made great beautiful watches and movements in stainless steel.

First of all- you’re an excellent storyteller and salesman. 2nd- they actually started this color palette last year with the 5224R, and the aquanaut Luce annual calendar, interesting to see if Patek over the course of the last 10/20 years has been hinting the direction they will go in with the previous years’ collection. 3rd- I disagree with you on the importance and intelligence of this year’s releases. I agree that all the brands really pivoted towards “true luxury”, with Rolex only releasing 1 ss watch and the rest in precious. For me what patek is doing to the aquanaut and nautilus is slowly killing off any connection of the families to sports watches. They are taking the polar opposite approach to AP- who are the royal oak brand- but in the process are reshaping the market to the effect that PP is no longer a serious player in the luxury sports watch game. This is also not mentioning the fact that these watches will be impossible to get for even seasoned collectors. In other words it feels like Patek is forfeiting an entire share of the market to AP and Rolex, where they could have capitalized and reintroduced a new entry level line in steel- I was betting they would reintroduce the short lived Neptune in a new design. Anyway- great video looking forward to more!

I agree with most points in this episode. What many don't realise about the Nautilus on the denim, is that this watch is for the multi-millionaire who likes to dress casually with jeans and a tee. Those of us who can maybe afford a Nautilus one day, generally crave a steal bracelet for longevity. But for that rich man who wears $1000 jeans, this watch is perfection.
Also, the point about the adjustable link eclipse, you are 100% right, a new wave of beautiful nu-vintage watches is about to hit the market, and I can't wait!
Patek Philippe has always been on another level from Rolex. That said, Rolex offerings will surely have more mass appeal, they offer a handful of tool inspired watches that land right in the middle of the meat of the market in terms of interest.

The new blue color is casual, sporty, youthful, and it goes with the youthful direction Patek seems to be going towards. HOWEVER... price increases, most people will not be able to buy them at Patek AD's. For me, now that I'm older and can get into Patek I don't like the sporty casual Patek of today. I prefer the classic traditional designs of the 80's - 2000's . When most Patek watches were unobtainable for me. Now that I can buy a Patek? No thanks if I want sporty or casual I'll stick to Omega, Rolex, IWC, or cheap affordable watches . Patek is running out of ideas. Stop sucking up to the brand, 2024 is nothing special with Patek.
