Can I just add a point in defense of the timeless functionality of the Speedmaster? I own a Speedmaster and a Submariner 14060M. These two watches are, for me, the perfect "two watch, sport watch" collection, as icons of the class. But I find myself wearing the Speedy much more than the Rolex for one very simple reason. The matte black dial. As I've aged and my eyesight has grown worse, the matte dial and matte white hands of the large faced Speedy is the most readily legible watch I own even without my glasses on. This means a lot. I would give anything if they offered a modern Sub with a matte dial, as originally designed. That matte dial serves a real, functional purpose on a sport watch, and the Speedy has not strayed from that ethos. To me, that's huge.
Please do. I do miss the close up of you two, it was more intimate. The old style made it feel like we were sitting on the table having a discussion, it’s what got me hooked.
Michael you don't need to force yourself to look at the camera anymore, this is a nice podcast setup and you can just focus on listening to Christian and being engaged with him and then when you are changing into guest host mode you can address the camera. Old rules don't apply anymore

Change (slightly) your clothes (and watch!) when you record two videos on the same day 🤣 / You should invite Sam more frequently!
Most hyped watches for sure are the Royal Oak, Nautilus and Daytona. I owned the AP and PP and sold them for 100k and 60k respectively during the ridiculously high after market prices and they were scratched to hell and well used. Now I am just sporting a black and blue gmt master 2 on jubilee. I made out like a bandit and can buy them back for SO cheaper in the new models. Best decision I made in regards to my collection. I am thinking of taking that money and getting the new IWC Eternal Calender or getting a platinum Daytona with the diamonds and sapphire case back.

Great video & intelligent discussion Over hyped or excessive market demand at the retail price point /supply level? If so, why? As in what is it that makes people love this watch, is it under priced, or is supply too constrained. The reality I think, is there is excessive market demand at a steel watch price point for specific designs that are well finished. That’s the common link between all these watches. I’m very tempted to subscribe to the zero, but you release such great content so regularly for free which I’m still catching up on :-)
Everyone should try to ensure that are not letting themselves be overly influenced by what is "hype" and what isn't, and to judge things on their own merits as they pertain to your taste. It's easy to understand that in terms of not buying something just because there's hype around it. It's harder for people to accept that when they disparage something popular just for being popular, they're still letting themselves be dictated by what is hype and what isn't.
Yeah keep Micheal. I literally almost unsubscribed because that dude you had “Sam” was not good. It was painful. Never leave Micheal, you are carrying this channel.

They also have over 30% of the Swiss watch market, which for a single brand is just nuts. Longines are massive in Asia but only have medium popularity in the west. Their watches also tend to skew towards the dress end, which is less popular in the west than it is in the east. The other issue is that they have too many lower end offerings, including quartz watches, that dampen the overall impression. Their best watches = a lot of watch for your money though (e.g. Zulu Time, Big Eye etc.), and their dress watches are arguably second to none in their respective price ranges.
