Can't wait to commence my second foray into the world of the Witcher, now I know what tiny alteration I need to make to ensure Dettlaff gets the ending he deserves... *Spoiler below Not taking the damned bracelet...
SPOILERS! I wanted to save Dettlaff, I really did. Remember that in the past Regis has killed innocent people just to indulge in his addiction also him siccing a pack of vampires in the city could be forgiven (if enough time passed) but it is very much implied in his final transformation that he just passed the point of no return, he might not be able to get back into his original form. Very sad and tragic, he could have become someone like Regis with his mentorship.
@@sleepless9957 I am right there with you brother. Every single time Kat is mentioned, remembered or even Lowhren speaking as her ghost/memory.... I cry so hard. I dont know how im going to react to seeing Alexis.
Detlaff deserved better. WEE WOO SPOILERS. . . . . . A monster on the path of becoming a man; Regis truly believed one day he would end up getting a grip on his passions and end up in control like he is. And he really was- he was slipping but otherwise was trying to integrate into society and trust others. Syanna ruined everything. I understand her reasons for revenge, but I don't forgive it when she couldn't care less for the cataclysm left in the wake of pursuing it. Namely, using a very dangerous man to do her work rather than assassins who yes, while may not have been as disposable; would have still probably carried out her revenge without turning a monstrous man back into being just that: a monster. And ironically leading him right back to her when she'd made a very clear attempt to make distance between the two. I played the version where I saved her first- even had her forgive with her sister; but it left nothing but misery in its wake. Hundreds dead during the vampiric city assault, even more wounded including children no doubt. (we see from the bruxa approaching when the city is in chaos, a small girl.) and Regis also losing his home and perhaps one of his greatest friends. Someone who understood him, someone he'd poured time into to teach and help. All for nothing, so Syanna could get her revenge through bloodshed and not just fucking with the duchy and ruining their reputation as a beacon of power? Detlaff deserved better.
@@dovahkiinslayer752 I understand syanna deserved to die after allat but dettlaff didn't need to bring hundreds of vampires to destroy beauclair and kill thousands just to get syanna
Just as an entire Witcher 3 detlaff is a disappointment for me. In the beginning it was good - detlaff was forced to kill, he was a victim as well. But in the end "I will let go this woman in front of me, but if she will not come to me later I will destroy the entire innocent city which has nothing to do with me and this woman". Just brilliant) From victim to psycho in one second) It is a common problem of Witcher 3 - poor writing. Good start but poor ending without any OMG twists
Emm.. didn't Regis mentioned that vampires had far stronger emotions than humans and what human can simply surpass or forget about some misunderstandings and "hidden games" and schemes, vampire will complain about that for years or - like in Detlaff case - start looking for revenge? So I see this discussion ended. Right here.

Dettlaff became a monster at the end of the boss battle. Not just physically. This is implied with the music that mix with the same shaelmar ost.
This really Pam pams my ParAm
I don't justify him what he did, but I understand him also too.
You understand attempt to destroy an entire city and to murder thousands?
He, like a certain Cold villain in DC, is a villain of circumstance and shall be treated as such, with respect.
Regis didn't kill Dettlaf for Geralt and Beauclair. He did it for Dettlaf.
"Rhena.. my Rhena..."
i hate when he says this in his Gwent card it always makes me sad :((

I never ever ever kill him~
Thank you for uploading this! I was very very sad when I coldn´t find it anymore.
In forgiving you I grieve..for now we must part..a shame
To have a vampire like Dettlaff as a lover is so tempting. Yet so dangerous. I understand them both (except for using him for the revenge by Syanna).
I understand why she did, they had it coming
Syanna admitted she never loved Detlaff.
As long as you don't lie to them, betray them and force them to do stuff they detest, you'll be fine
Nice tune :-)
Damn! I finally find this!
Thank you!
awsome soundtrack

Thanks!

I always liked Syanna’s theme, never noticed this one

You should have brought her, witcher! I am disappointed.
What is the original name of the song? Is it dettlaff’s grief?
Why was the Original Video deleted? It was one of my favorites on TH-cam.
