Good improvement on speed bro, 👌 10kph is decent on 2s, it should get over 60kph with 3s I reckon. I have ordered larger pinions for mine a couple nights ago now I've converted to brushless. Hopefully test it out tomorrow for the first time on the stock 22t pinion until the new ones arrive 👍

One advice id give to anyone starting in RC, buy a bag of one type of connectors, male and female. Maybe 20 of each. That way every vehicle you get and every battery can be the same connector type and you can swap em wherever. Someone also figured out a nice diff you can throw in to protect the gears from wheel shock, Id TH-cam search it and just order it right off the bat. If you can find a slipper too even better, protect that driveline cuz shes a little weak and I KNOW youre going brushless eventually. :p

Thanks very much for checking it out! With this 33T the extending piece of the motor mount is touching the chassis side skirt. There's still a couple more millimetres for the mount to extend but would require cutting of the side skirt to allow the extending piece to protrude over a little bit. My guess is 35T is the max. size using the stock motor mount, unmodified.

i think you should have ran it longer to see if temps got to hot...this way some guys would know if they could if it was a good cheap upgrade... i say this because you plan on going brushless anyway...thanks

@@MickoRC yes i burnt out that motor real fast running 3s on my 144001... 2s only for these imo... i think using stock gears with a 4000 to 4300kv on 2s with an 80 amp brushless esc is going to be great with this buggy..

when u 1st got your wltoys 104001.. did u have distances issue...
No. Are you having distance issues? Note that if the batteries on the transmitter get too low the signal can get too weak and cause distance issues.

My car is running in 2WD for now. Braking is not too good in 2WD mode, more so with the bigger pinion.
top speed should be 30 % faster on a smooth road... it may get hot though..
I didn't want it to run too long because the it would surely stress the motor too much and might burn out
