Another option is makeup bags. These are half moon shaped with mesh-like sides and a zippered top. You can find them at dollar stores for about a buck.
I am going to try building the bait box.

A small Crab Trap Bait Box is quick find too.

Use a small snap to hold that bait box where you want it.
    Fishing supplies come to mind.

I'd love to see you pull one of these out of the water, with the catch still in it.

He did a video on his other channel with him doing a night soak with the trap. It was posted on his other channel "Nicholas Tomihama". Search "Nicholas Tomihama Crayfish" and you should find the video.

What size rubber band is that used to hold bait box closed? I wanted to pick up a bag of them to have on hand from Staples,

You can also just punch some holes in a can of tuna or cat food and set it in your trap.

I may have answered my own question...They look like size #105 rubber bands I found at Walmart online.

poultry net or small animal fencing at about $12-15 a roll.
My Grange Co-Op, or online at Amazon for one.

@@roberthodge2771 The going rate is $26 on Amazon that I saw and $33 at Home Depot. This particular stuff is hardware net. I think its a bit different from poultry netting.

Can you give me the Part numbers? I looked for Plastic Hardware Cloth at Lowes AND Home Depot and could NOT find the material you used in video for bait traps. Workers at both stores looked at me like I was speaking Klingon!!!

Plastic poultry net of 1/2" mesh is what he has, or the equivalent.
