A lot of people watch tv...watching others who they wish they could live what they're watching. While I watch the sunset on yt you guys are experiencing it. Thanks for sharing
OMG dear friends, one of the best biking Japan videos! I lived in Okinawa for a couple of years and rode some of the other southern Ryukyu islands as well. Thank you for this amazing memory journey!
I said this before oh, and of course I'll say it again and again LOL the how you guys or how you allow us to perceive you and your relationship towards one another are really it's something that we should all cherish what I mean by that is we should all appreciate what we are witnessing between Eric and Maudi.....
This is a very nostalgic video for us; we lived in Fukui-Ken for almost 4 years and the memories of the place have come flooding back watching this. We loved our time there, and are very happy to see that the essence of the place hasn't changed that much. Your video also makes us really want to return to Japan, to see our old friends, and to spend more time enjoying the beauty of everything there. And it especially makes us want to return to Japan with bicycles! #FantasticVideo
Hi Sandy, what a wonderful place to live! 💚 May I ask the reason you decided to live in Japan for such a long time? Great to know we portrayed the essence of that area as you know it, we truly enjoyed this part of Japan!!
@@WheelstoWander We went to visit my brother, who married a woman from Japan. We intended to stay only a year, teaching English and learning about Japan, but we liked it so much we ended up staying almost four years. In fact, one of our daughters was born there. We loved the small town we lived in, we had great friends, and it seemed like everyday we learned something new about the place. A special time in our lives, for sure.
Glad to see you on your feet (and wheels) at sea level. Nice to see some challenging moments included in your video: the rain showers! It looks like you simply choose where you want to pitch your tent; do you have to ask around for permission first? Japan seems such a contrast to some of the other places you cycled (for example, Central Asia - Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan). Thanks for taking time and attention to create such enjoyable, polished videos.
Yes it surely is a big difference from the previous months in Central Asia! Japan is very modern and convenient, which was a nice change after the frugal lifestyle we had in the Pamir mountains. Although we're not sure if it's the same for Japanese people, camping as a foreigner is extremely easy in Japan, it's the first country where we've camped in urban settings. It depends on the situation whether we asked people to stay somewhere, most people don't care and almost pretend like they don't see you. Perfect country for beginner bicycle touring & wildcamping!
you are succeeding really difficult journey ....spending night in a tent under the rain....I watched two times...Im asking to myself that can I do too?....I quess really difficult ....You both really great spirit and persons...BRAVO you guys.
Thank you Cem! We had a lot of practice at home and in other trips before we got here. It's not difficult if you are willing to learn!! All the best, E&M
Glad I’m following ur instagram, for no reason youtube stop giving me a notification (yup I hit the bell and of course subscribing to your channel) anyway nice vid like always
Hi my awesome adventure friends travelling planet earth, are you loving Japanese culture ,i think the intricate carvings on there temples are beautiful, but that is appreciating beauty and craftsmanship, i also am a minimalist, it to has beauty in a simplistic sense, maudi starts out half way up a staircase already as do you my friend, i wish i had long legs lol, but unfortunately i must have joined the que for long waits not legs lol anyway so good to see you're travels again how are the bikes lol be safe and look twice love from Scotland.ps perhaps you could have tightened your ground sheet from one post to another with the islets.
Hi David, how are you? The carvings are incredible, really something else 👌🏼 Very special and beautiful to see. Slim and long, that's how people see us indeed. We think we are quite normal 😉 The bikes need some love: chainrings are worn as do the cassettes. We have new chains already and will wait for the install when we get to some new cogs... You mean turn the groundsheet into a tarp during that rainy situation? Good idea 👍🏼 All the very best from us!!
@@WheelstoWander yes that's what i was meaning, i hope you get them replaced soon , things are a bit worrying about the virus thing , we just have i guess to see where it goes, be safe guys ,ps don't know where it will lead, but Scottish Scientist has just cracked the DNA of the Coronavirus wow go Scotland.ps its mutated but they recon they are still on the right track.
Your tour of the temple must have been amazing. Can you provide the name and location? P.S. again thanks for sharing your quiet introspection on travel and life.
We certainly keep an eye out and try to avoid touristy area's. We had a temperature check before boarding a ferry a few days ago, we are definitely confronted with news/stories/information regurlarly but try to filter the real info from the media hysteria...
Everything seems amazing! The beauty is your smile in all your adventure and difficulties.
You two have such great attitude, even in the pouring rain. I love your videos.

Another cool video. Loving your Japan series. Are you biking up the coast to Fukushima?
Thanks Bike Tail! No we are cycling in the other direction to Shikoku 🙂
Maudi...
It's clear the beach has come to you haha
😉
Tips against mosquito, use lavender cream. Countries with lots of mosquitos are well equipped against it
Interesting, we'll keep that in mind!
Your tour of the temple must have been amazing. Can you provide the name and location? P.S. again thanks for sharing your quiet introspection on travel and life.
If you google Eiheiji temple you will find the exact location, worth a visit 💚
Indonesia is waiting for you....
Hihi, we would love to cycle there someday. I (Maudi) visited Sulawesi, stunning scenery & wonderful people!!
Big thumb up to you guys ! Btw, what are your knives ? I'm looking for a good one. Thanks !
Thanks Didier! We have a Opinel No. 9 Carbon (mod), and a Crete style Inox knife which was a gift. Depends on what you are going to use it for... ?
Hope you both are very well.. What part of Holland are you from, my family is originally from Friesland..?
We are Wayne, thanks for asking! We are from Noord Holland! My grandparents have Fries bloed (Eric) so there is a bit of Fries in me too 😉
At least some people dont like to burn dinosaurs for fun

You are very beautiful guy.Can i ask you what is your name?
Has the Corona virus changed your routine or plans?

Handling it the way the I thought you would with good info and common sense.
Love the scenery could do with a little less commentary. Maybe voice over is enough
Ha, and we we're thinking we could do with some more vlogs... Thanks!
I strongly disagree with this.
