Hi Sherry, Happy Birthday!!! Thank you for letting us join you on your awesome trips. Take care and keep enjoying your bike rides. Greetings from Mexico!!!
You look like a combination of Ana de Armas and Scarlett Johansson. Thanks for all the positive vibes, I love your adventures. Always enjoy, take care and God bless! ❤
Beau reportage d’un pays lointain .Merci pour ces voyage ! Bonne continuation à vous et votre cameraman. Au plaisir de suivre vos futures aventures en Gravel bikepacking.
Thx for coming. Nara’s bambis are special and protected for religious reason. I’m happy because Japanese convenience stores and vending machines helped your cycling. Japanese cyclists love them, too. I recommend Hokkaido and Kyushu for next your trip.
I've ridden everywhere in the prefectures around Tokyo. I admire your ability to deal with the traffic and cold weather (this was April or so, right?) I hate traffic and especially the tunnels around Okutama. Fortunately, I can skip the traffic by loading my bike on the train and getting to the base of the mountains where there is far less traffic and the smaller roads are still well maintained. I love getting up in the mountains. Japan is beautiful.
What an epic adventure! This Chimp highly approves! The vistas look amazing, that FARA bike is 🤌🏻 keep up the great content Sherry & Ride safe out there 🐵
@@Buzzalong.cycling I thoroughly enjoyed it and Japan is a place i would like to visit for the culture, food & the scenery. It’s great knowing the opportunities for cycling over there too!
No wonder you had so many punctures, i had like 3 a day when having Gravelking with tubes on rear wheel. The front was tubeless with 0 issues. Thanks for the video! Some of the cuts were way too short for us though
Great video, you say if you come to Japan make sure you have enough gears on your bike. I see you’re using 1x which to me is a backward step. The more gears you have the better which means 2x,the leg wrecking big gaps between the the sprockets and increased chain deflection are a big minus to me
I'm curious to know what you had in your baggage for backpacking in Japan with this rather cold weather. It really makes me want to take a plane ticket to Japan. Vincent from the north of France ( Risjel )

Que viaje tan cool y super el video! I'd love to embark myself on a bikepacking road trip like yours. How do you manage the bike bag for boarding trains after you're out of the train? Do you use a lightweight bag that you carry in a backpack the whole trip, or do you just purchase a new one when leaving the country/taking a new train?

What kind of bag did you use on the Shinkansen ? Bought it in Japan or brought it from Europe ? We are plannig a similar trip in September/Oktober and having the Shinkansen option would be nice.
I used a rinco bag, you have to pack your bike on it to transport in the Shinkansen, I bought mine in Japan but they are quite expensive there and sometimes tricky to find, I have some at home I bought on amazon that are cheaper I just forgot to bring them, I leave a link below: amzn.to/3Rysp0R
@@Buzzalong.cycling perhaps the road surfaces are sharp and jagged on those rough trails? I don’t think you’d want to rely on tubeless for long rides. Tubes are easier to replace. You don’t want to end up with a sticky mess. Keep it simple ☺️
You started Hiroshima station and rode to east. Why did you not take local train so to say 30min, then you could be at Miyajima, shrine on sea, view is fine. From there you could start your tour.
When I don't have a lot of energy I like to switch the bike computer from miles per hour to kilometers per hour. I'm still going the same speed, but the numbers are bigger and I can pretend I'm going faster.
There's in this moment a football match between France and Nederlands, as in the "tour de France" when dutch cyclists fight with french cyclists . But i must say : the most beautiful cyclists are colombian : Is it because of the spirit of Ecuador or what ? I am also trying to plan a bike packing trip in Japan this fall, and looking at your komoot collection, I noticed that the stages are not publicly accessible? Is this in purpose?
If not, could you make them public so that we can see the route? Thanks!
thank you sorry, I did not realise was still private, I switch them now to public :) hope is useful
At 0:51 the road has some longitudinal grooves.
I saw similar on Mindy's channel (South Korea).
Do they serve a purpose or is it sign of poor quality?
I think they are for the water flow when it rains, you have them everywhere in Japan, mostly on mountain roads, they are actually very slippery when going over them on a bike so I always slowed down when I encounter them
Hi Sherry.Good to see you again. I´m follow you biketours with big interrests.. Is it a Fara Gravel or a Fara All Road. Did you try a Fara Road?
thank you :) for this trip I had the Fara Gravel with 32mm tyres, did not know what to expect in Japan so more versatile
Buzz Along, please forgive my late question. What month did you start cycling in and what month did you end cycling?
