People seriously need to chill out about casey... before he made vlogs he made movies, and he's going back to his roots. If you are an OG casey fan you remember the movies... also why the fuck would anyone not take 25 mil from CNN for a failed app? sounds like a smart business decision to me.

Casey has such a great sense of nostalgia, when he speaks about the past, when he shows his diary entries, when he reflects on his relationship with his son. It has elements of introspectiveness and also it has a sense of wanting to be shared with others at the same time.

It's crazy to find this vlog 6 years later, knowing that this is what my own country looked like in 2012.
There's a big highway connecting Hanoi with Hoa Binh now, I swear to god Hanoi looked so different, and the hotel that you stayed in closed its doors after 20 years of operating.
This video brings back such a great sense of nostalgia; your storytelling skills are pure perfection, and this video brought up so many emotions.

Thanks Casey, you've motivated me to take more memorable trips with my son. I go to Saigon almost yearly (parents live there now), but when my son gets a bit older im going to travel to various places with him. As a dad in my mid thirties, its hard to remember experiences with my son, but I always remember international trips. They trigger memories because they arent the same mundane routine that I do everyday.

As I commented several times, it must have been a finalized major new project that was the reason Casey stopped with his vlogs (the thing he was "holding back"). Now we know, it was a deal with CNN where Beme is sold for a lot of money, and a new affiliate to CNN for digital content is created where Casey and his Beme partner will be the directors.
Well done. Casey is rich now. And future content will probably be even more ambitious. He will probably look for talent for the new company. My guess is that PPPeter ("the impossibe day of Casey Neistat") will be one of them.

I love your idea of keeping a notebook while traveling 😍😍😍 I wish I did that on my last trip back in 2019 because now it would’ve been wonderful to have something to read and reflect on.
