If it takes a space craft 70 000 years to reach the sun, how did new horizons reach pluto in less than 10 years?
+Tu Chenz He meant Proxima Centauri I think
Yes he is
He made a mistake, it takes 70000 years to go to our solar system's nearest star, not the sun
He meant it would take 70k yrs to reach the Sun if you travelled to it on a medium like road. He probably took a top speed of a rocket and used division to find the time it takes to travel to the Sun. Reality is very different thought. To travel in space, you don't take some direct highway, you take an orbit. Simply said to avoid all the complicated "rocket science", you would travel a lot faster to the Sun because you accelerate rapidly towards it, just as you do from falling down to Earth.
Tu Chenz it said spacecraft not rover or droid
You do realise that the Galaxy and the Solar System are 2 different things, right?
155 days to reach the sun at our current propulsion rate.. Not 70,000 yrs..
Andromeda it would take 70,000 years to reach Proxima Centauri, that’s probably what he read but it probably also refers to it as the closest star to us so he go confused.
I hope he got confused because I understood it as our sun.
@@DBGTZ117 right! Lol I know damn well it wouldn't take 70,000 years to reach the sun lol

12:50 “oh bollocks that’s wrong” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It would take 70 000 years for a spacecraft to reach it? Seriously? I hope you're mistaking it for Alpha Centauri.
+TKWeckroth Indeed.
+TKWeckroth agreed a quick google search brings this up " Wikipedia tells me that the fastest, manned rocket can go 40,000 km/h. So at that speed it would take 3740 hours or 155.8 days to reach the Sun"
it would also take 78,000 years for the fastest space craft to reach alpha centauri!
+Regan Wagteveld Coincidentally it is about the same time it takes a Starfleet Intrepid class starship to travel from the Delta Quadrant back to the Alpha Quadrant at maximum sustainable warp. It's true.
+TKWeckroth I only get to bring up at cool times like this that I have a niece who's middle name is Centauri. :)

Hey Sam, I just wanted to take a moment and tell you that your work is such a joy to watch! Its been a long time since a smile has been put on my face so early in the day. I thank you for that, and I eagerly await your next post.
That's very kind of you and a joy to hear, thank you very much indeed.
- Sam
+101Facts Sam, I believe you mistook the sun for Proxima Centauri (or closest Stellar neighbor beyond the sun). That would take 70,000 years to get to, the sun would only take a few months to reach (we have satellites orbiting it)
This is so much fun to watch! I've never seen someone so good at providing information while making it hilarious. I'm only half way through and I've legit laughed out loud 3 times and said to myself "goddamn this guys funny"

70,000 years to reach the sun? are you crazy? the fastest man made rocket could get there in just half a year!
+Elliott Lubrin it takes 19 years actually, the distance between the Sun and Earth is 1 AU. The average distance between the sun and Pluto is 40 AU Voyager 1(or 2 I forget lol) past that... plus if you look it up you'll find out quickly they spread a false fact.
+Elliott Lubrin
Yes but the spacecraft used for those missions are designed for efficiency not speed, there are many man made craft that travel considerably faster than others like the ones used for mars missions
I know all that I think when I commented I didn't notice you said "half a year" or your comment was different before? Idk :P
Regan Wagteveld But the speed matters and effects tge time
He meant proxima centauri
"a significantly more boring cloud made of water" that's so fucking cool idk what you're talking about that shit keeps us alive
fact 11 was great, but that's not her name anymore, its Me
Sam you have earned a subscriber for being British and making a doctor who reference
spysaboo good
To the best of my knowledge, there are no naked eye stars further away than about 1500 light years so fact 45 is a bit of an exaggeration!
This comment section is making me annoyed. Yes some of the facts might not be right but the amount of people pointing this out is sad. Also a bunch of people are saying he is annoying and that his puns suck, if you don't like him, *then leave* (ps I loved the doctor who references)
Exactly my thoughts !
Haha pointing out incorrect “facts” is sad? Go sit under a rock
Charli Rose If that many people are correcting him then that means he should of done more research and double cheeked his scripted. If Isomeone who does not know tha much about space and still manage to correct him i would say that is just sad.
Ah yes! Stupid youtube comments
For you guys who don't get it, 42 is the meaning of life because according to "The Hitchhiker's guide to the Universe" In ASCII computer programming 42 stands for an asterisk (*). And in that context an asterisk can be anything you want it to be.
dude ur all funny u deserve more subs
*CORRECTION* @ 13:40 . . .
As viewed from a position in space north of the solar system (from some great distance above the Earth's North Pole), all the major planets revolve counterclockwise around the Sun, and all but *Venus and Uranus* rotate counterclockwise on their own axes; these two, therefore, have retrograde rotation.
13:11 he said Earth takes 265 days to rotate the sun. its 365 in case u didn't know
+Raymond Nyfeler every heard of mistakes??
He did say 365 not 265 he also said orbit and not rotate lol
Raymond Nyfeler I believe your life is a lie LMAO
The best kind of facts videos. Seriously.
9:55 How exactly did we find that out..?
Pretty much the exact same way we found out how old everything else is in the universe :P
The little Doctor Who reference on number 11 😊😍
Pluto is quite larger than America. That's been proven.
That was a mistake but he said later that it was distance wise Like Maine to Hawaii

i found your channel and i freaking love your voice
the milky way is the same age as Bruce Forsyth
and im also pretty sure that heavier elements such as gold, silver and platinum etc can only be made in a super nova because stars die as soon as they create iron in the core because it takes more energy to fuse iron atoms than the fusion creates and iron is a far lighter element and our sun just isnt hot enough and doesnt contain a high enough pressure to make anything heavier than iron
Number 62 is wrong
Venus is the only planet to spin clockwise
All other planets spin counterclockwise
EXCACTLY
Actually, it depends on your reference (point of view).
It would not take a space craft 70,000 years to get to the sun. Voyager 1, the space craft sent to the outer solar system, is over 145 times farther away from earth then the sun. It was sent in 1977.
Lot's of incorrect information in this video... the sun will NOT run out of hydrogen in 130 million years. It has a couple billion years to burn it. It would not take 70,000 years to reach the sun with spacecraft... He must mean Proxima Centauri...
yeah even the moon is made of cheese but if that fact is true then #MYLIFEWASALIE
There are lots of incorrect information, indeed. But he didn't say the sun will run out of Hydrogen in 130 million years. He said that after the sun run out of Hydrogen, it would still burn (Helium) for another 130 million years.
I love that this actually teaches you but at the same time it’s so memeish
My hearts still colder than Triton
+TheSpaceAce -Space.
Edgie.
“Fact” #23 is technically wrong. It would only be right if the space craft was going under 60 miles per hour. But at 60 miles per hour you would travel 525,000 miles a year. So at 60 miles per hour it would take about 177 years to get to the sun.

So, we have another Haumea in our universe. Neat.
Well, he said “the Sun is the closest star to Earth but it will take 70k years for a space craft to reach it”, any further ado is pointless, it’s a bug
He read the script wrong, He likely wanted to say that it will take 70k years to reach the star closest to us, *BESIDES OUR SUN* which is the Proxima Centuri, A Flare Star in a triple star system called the Alpha Centuri.
In response to numbers 80 & 81 there is a Japanese movie I saw where the plot for the movie is that they in fact, send cockroaches to mars with some sort of moss hoping they would spread it around in an attempt to terraform it. Well the roaches actually evolved into humanoid killing machines in a matter of years. Good to know the movie was somewhat plausible lol.
