Hi Sam, the Space Shuttle Challenger blew up on January 28, 1986.
Snaggletooth75 true
thats a big 13 year error
pkisfubar true
Was about to comment this too.
I thought I remembered reading it blew up on my birthday...What a claim to fame...
When the Challenger blew up in 1986, it was supposedly replaced by the Endeavor. At the time I found it strange that the Endeavor was in use so soon afterward. I found it strange also that the Endeavor was taken out of service at about the same time as the other Space Shuttles. Yet, the Endeavor was supposed to have been the youngest. It seems like it was made at about the same time as the others.
If only they had the military's budget.
Yeah it’d be a real waste of money
@@puppy8125 how? Space exploration should be a priority
lol we'd be halfway to terraforming mars, we'd be mining asteroids... and think of the AWESOME spinoff inventions: sigh. Unfortunately, after the moon landings most politicians just said: ok we best them Commies to the moon: bye-bye NASA!! ITs budget is now less than half a percent of the national government's budget: a literal drop in the bucket.
@@altareggo maybe Russia just needs to try to go to Mars lol
@Mark Smileer lol funny stuff!! Thanks for the giggles!!!
Houston, we have a problem.

1st video starts playing at 7.15 this morning! Still listening at 14.30! All while getting paid to 'work' 😅🤙🏾
Hmmmm, (rings phone) *insert politician here*? You've just won an all expenses paid trip on the 13th voyage of the Challenger!
I'm a simple man; I see NASA, I click.
Fact #94 had me scratching my head in disbelief so I did some fact checking of my own. Yes, there really is an "EM Drive" project out there and while I wouldn't recommend anyone start applying for Star Fleet Academy just yet, the mere fact that people are seriously working on a "Warp Drive" type propulsion is mind blowing in itself.
Same
That's majorly cool, isn't it/ I probably won't live to see "Warp Drive'-type engines, but it's nice to know that serious work is being done on them. Apparently, scientists have managed to teleport a small particle, so who knows? Star Trek may one day be reality.

Good video! I live Fridays because of 101 facts.
TH-cam!!!! EASE UP ON THE 5 MINUTE ADS ALREADY!!!! DAMN!!!! Especially, when there's many, many, many ads per video. No wonder why people use ad blockers. If you try to milk people's time for every damn cent, you deserve NOTHING!
for some reason they think that TH-cam Red will help anything
or I guess now it's TH-cam premium, just goes to show how little people care about it
This man really had an American voice for #36 lmao that killed me 🤣🤣
Another awesome video. Thanks.
I'm surprised you haven't got a million subs yet!!
I hear Sam actually has a spot on MJ impression but wanted to prevent copyright strikes.

NASA talked to sesame Street about sending Big Bird up to space for a publicity stunt. The plan never went through because Big Bird is ginormous and the worst possible choice for a celebrity cameo on a space shuttle, so they sent a school teacher up in his place.
And then the Challenger goddamn exploded. Let me reiterate. There is a timeline not too far from this one where Big Bird is a casualty in the single worst aeronautical disaster in human history.
Neil Armstrong is my 5th grade science teacher Ms.Armstrong cousin in law but she got divorced
I love the joke about "what does NASA stand for?"
No, not that one. 🙄
"Never A Straight Answer" 🤣🤣🤣

Never mentioned the Saturn v rocket once. Still the most powerful rocket ever built. And over 400,000 people worked for NASA to land a man on the moon.

Super Soaker + Jennifer Lawrence = Fun time!
Last trip to the moon was December 1972, not 1969
Not only did he get the date of the Challenger disaster wrong but also said they last went to the Moon in 1969. How many of these 101 "facts" are actually correct. Also the accompanying images of some the Apollo missions had Space Shuttle footage. But it is still an interesting and amusing video.

NASA spent less than $1000 buying 200 "upside down" pens that worked in 0g as well as they did upside down. They even got a discount for buying in bulk and providing an endorsement. You can still find them now under the name "Space Pen".

@19:42 you mentioned 1973 but if I recall it was on January 28th 1986. I was a sophomore in high school such a sad sad day.
An EMU is not just any space suite. An EMU is just the name of the jet pack thing.
Bill Nye the science guy should be called Bill Nye the astronaut
All i got outta that was that nasa sent 2 spiders in space and a space suit cost 12 million dollars

Wow mate was digging the title of the video until you started to list the incorrect dates of so many events. Especially the challenger disaster I couldn’t let it go from there because I remember watching the challenger launch 🚀 in school because there was a teacher on board and she was to be the first teacher in space. So if this had happened in 73 like you said I’m amazed I can remember that considering that I hadn’t even been conceived yet
do 101 facts about newzealand
Hey Sam i have been a fan of yours for a long time. I got a suggestion for a video how about 101 facts about bad boys the movie you know the one with Will Smith and Martin Lawence
The Kennedy Space Center is also in a nature reserve.
Challenger exploded in 1986, NOT 1973. Space shuttle missions were referred to as STS (Space Transport System), NOT SDS. Research, mate.

The challenger didn’t explode in 1973. That tragedy occurred on January 28th 1986.
They actually last visited the moon in 1972, you said 1969
