  • This week I explain how I set this big blue lab-grown diamond. Hopefully it will help you if you are thinking of setting a cushion cut stone! Or if you're curious about setting or interested in the making of jewellery in general.
    This ring is 18ct white gold and NEXT WEEK we are showing the making of the ring itself.
    Thank you for tuning in, know that we appreciate it and appreciate hearing from you. What you'd like to see, what you think, if you have any questions / suggestions - we are here for it all.

    what is the third-hand equipment you are using that holds the ring and yet moves around so fluidly?

    How do you file the prongs without scratching the stone. If it’s not a diamond this can happen so easily

    You ever work with high end Opal? I’m obsessed with it and have started cutting. Hard to source hi grade rough tho

      Not as much as I should. It’s such a beautiful stone.

    What kind of engraver tool is that? I've seen rotary ones everywhere, but never something like that

    • @jacothejeweller
      @jacothejeweller  ปีที่แล้ว

      The tool I’m using to hammer the claws down is a standard tool engraver which you might pick up from any hardware shop. I’ve just grinder the tip down. They are great for stone setting.
