    Finally a channel that has detailed verbal instructions and explanations to go along with the jewelry making video 😌Now that’s much easier to learn from 🏆

    Another trick to stop the burr flying around the claw is the set your 'Flexidrive' or Micromotor to spin backwards. This stops the burr from being so grabby!. Phil

    Hi buddy - just to give you the 'heads up' - the burr you used to cut out part of the claws , we call a Heart burr - see Cooksons Item No: 999 6384 - and the other burr we use for setting is a 'Setting burr' - see Cooksons Item No: 989 130
    I know you know what you are doing, but the right names might help you one day.
    Cheers
    Phil (from philongold)

      Hey Phil, I tell you it can get confusing moving around the world. I’m using a bearing cutter (like 41490 - Cookson) here. I prefer these for their angle over the heart. Don’t get me started on names buddy - it’s been like learning a whole new language 😂

    • @PhilStevensphilongold
      @PhilStevensphilongold ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jacothejeweller I don't see much difference between a 'Heart' burr and a 'Bearing cutter' myself. I know what you mean about learning new languages - I lived in France for 15 years and Germany for a while - I got to the stage when I could not remember the the correct word in a particular language, but I knew it in another language. Most confusing!
      Have a great Sunday. Phil

    I absolutely love this and how you explain everything so well thank you, do you have a tutorial on how you make a basket setting for example like a double gallery setting like this one ☝🏼 I have a 12mm asscher cut pink amethyst and I can’t find a vid on what to do anywhere plz help, I just need something that gives me the basic kind of guid so that I can convert it if I’m sound a emerald cut or round etc. i would be eternally grateful 🥲 also what gauge wires to use for the size of stone would be useful no one ever mentions that 😅❤

      Ah I’m so glad, it’s such a pleasure. Thank you for your comment, we’d love to help. I actually have two asscher cut diamonds that I’m building settings for in the next 2 weeks so we will definitely be covering this soon. 🙏

      Good question about the size of the wire, we’ll address this in a short this coming week or in the asscher-cut video for you. 🌞

    Thanks for such a great video. I wondered if you could spell the name of the tool you used to round the ends of the claw "prongs"? You called it a "cup phrase"? I can't find anything with that spelling so not sure if I misundertood the word... Thanks!

      Thanks for the comment, I get this a lot. The tools are named differently all around the world. I’ll try and link a few in future videos.
