    Hey Costa, I have one physical SSD but made a new partition of C namly H drive, and everything I do is in H. so I everytime have to run:
    cd /mnt/h/programming
    How can I open this by default? I did set this path by going in setting and selecting Ubuntu and set starting directory.
    But that didn't change when I open it. I believe the reason behind could be that wsl/Ubuntu doesn't have access to it?
    Also you have great structured content btw!!

      I would suggest you'd save your programming projects inside the Linux distro, making sure they are always committed to github. If you want to keep them on D drive, try to change the default startingDirectory on Windows Terminal:
      stackoverflow.com/questions/59057687/how-to-change-default-directory-in-windows-subsystem-for-linux
      You could also try to move WSL filesystem to D as last resort. But then I don't know how the interaction with your IDE would work (VS Code for example):
      stackoverflow.com/questions/38779801/move-wsl-bash-on-windows-root-filesystem-to-another-hard-drive
      Thank you!

    I have a small doubt regarding the WSL, which is better a dual boot or using WSL as, I want to do my chip designing project in linux as some of the software supports only in linux OS, so which one would be better for me.
    please suggest me.

    • @TechWithCosta
      @TechWithCosta  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If you really need Windows and the Linux software you need works properly on a WSL2 setup (with UI interaction), I would prefer that instead of Dual Booting. The latter is not so convenient. Check this to test learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/tutorials/gui-apps
      You can launch UI Linux apps with WSL2 now.
      If WSL2 does not solve it, just run a Linux virtual machine with VirtualBox (if you have enough hardware to work with).
      If you don't need Windows at all, go full Linux.
      1. Windows + WSL2 (test 1st)
      2. VirtualBox VM (enough hardware)
      3. Dual Boot
      4. Full Linux
      It depends on your needs and tests :)

    is it works for legecy mode ? or just uefi

    • @TechWithCosta
      @TechWithCosta  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think WSL does not depend on Legacy or UEFI modes. However, your BIOS should have hardware virtualization enabled (Intel VT-x or AMD-V for example).

    how can we make multiple user accounts like parallel space in windows private users like function in phone , i want to use a different fingerprint for every user that only i could know and nobody can find other user accounts that how many users are in laptop , sometimes we can see user profiles in settings but i want to hide every account even in boot or login page like it should be a secret window laptop irrespective of other user data or even folder , or apps or anything , i want to make private window data for me , and other user accounts some for work , office , management , one for linux etc . that doesn't even should show that other user have made a folder or installed an app it shouldn't be seen in other user accounts, like in one laptop 2 or 3 different laptop (user) working privately that nobody can't find only i should know . i think i have explained to u correctly ?
    please give me some solution. I can't find videos related to this . or i don't know how to search .

    hi Costa iv struggled to install wsl even going through your instructions and also used powershell but doesnt work. i use windows 11 home too as well. when i run the command wsl --update, it tries to update till it gets to 90% then it stops to say "Element no found" i have checked everything correctly in the "Turn windows features on or off" window but still no luck. would be glad if you could help. i checked both the virtual machine platform and windows system for linux and restarted but it still didnt work

    • @TechWithCosta

      What do you mean? Linux will run inside Windows, so I guess it depends if Windows is compromised.
