Thank you so so so much for making this video. I have looked for a good tutorial for a harry potter cake for months and I couldn't believe it when i randomly came across your's. I really wanted a sorting hat cake for mg birthday because it would be the actual size of the sorting hat in the films but i wasn't really sure how to make one that wasn't just a cone shape so i think it is a great idea to use cake pop mixture. I'm looking forward to recreating this cake. (Also I'm going to subscribe.)
thank you for the lovely comment MeTV , I'm really happy to hear it came in handy! Let me know how you go and if you can, maybe send me a photo ;D I'd love to see your creation.
+Zoé Jalabert thank you!! The brown paste is just fondant :) or hard icing depending where you live.. It can be bought ready made in store. I don't have a recipe for it as of yet.
+Zoé Jalabert you can definitley buy this in france. they even have them in different colors. if you can't find a brown one you can take a white one and dye it with food coloring
Hi! I just tried to make this cake and I took mine out at 1 hour 10 and it wasn't cooked. I put back in oven for another 20 minutes but it collapsed in the centre. Can you please let me know how long you cook for in the oven.
Hi +Lotte Heimes, thanks for your comment! To make buttercream it's 1:2 butter to icing sugar ratio. Then a teaspoon of flavouring and 2 to 3 tablespoons of milk. If you are mkaing chocolate buttercream then you just replace some of the icing sugar with cocoa powder and keep an eye on taste :) it comes down to personal preference how strongly you would like the buttercream to taste of chocolate.
Rose's Dessert what kind of Steemer do you use it looks very powerful to me. I want to meke this cake to my sister her b-day is in Halloween jajaja cute .
+Claudia Ayala I use the airflo hand held steamer (the link on ebay: www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-TRAVELLER-GARMENT-CLOTHES-STEAMER-HANDHELD-Freshens-Remove-Wrinkles-/141019620280?hash=item20d56ca3b8 ) it is actually pretty great value for money :) Happy baking! You're a great sister for making her cake haha. Let me know how you go :)
Hi Samantha, I would like to make the sorting hat cake, how did your ganache idea go, I'm thinking of uncovering it all with ganache instead if icing, do you think that would work. Cheers Tascha
Hi Rosie! I'm a new subscriber on your channel, I'm in love with it! And can you give the link for your airbrush, please? Do you use like gel color? (I think I see sometimes, they have like the liquid kind) and what do you mean by "steaming"? I want to know like if it's like water, or something else. Thank you! And by the way, your cakes looks fantastic! :)
thank you so much fr the lovely comment James Castelo ! :) I use the dinky doodle airbrush at the moment. This can be found at: www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dinky-Doodle-Airbrush-and-Compressor-set-with-FREE-DVD-Tutorial-Sugarcraft-/400818593999?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5d52a660cf these were the only ones I could find on e-bay, its a UK brand. It's my first airbrush so my recommendations aren't the most educated, but it's worked for me so far :) as for the steamer, it's literally just a hand held portable steamer filled with water. If you have an actual fully functioning steamer for clothing, the type with the hose looking attachment you can even just use that. x
Hey Rosie! Have you ever thought of doing a video on yourself? Like how you started baking and then moved unto doing videos etc, would be interesting :)
Hey Kae Servin, I would like to make a bio related video :) I will mention it in the next video and see what questions in particular people are interested in / what they would like to know. It can be a bonus video for the week x) thank you for the suggestion!
+The Minecrafting Codder I think all houses have their own, unique qualities. It is rude to put down other people based on their house. You can have opinions, but don't be rude. I like all houses. But I like ravenclaw best, then slytherin, then hufflepuff, then griffindor!
yeah haha i had a feeling it was more of an australian accent but idk something about your voice sounds just like her! lol meant as a compliment of course i just stumbled on your channel and i love your videos(:

This is fabulous, I love it ! But how do you make the brown mixture on the cake please ?
+Zoé Jalabert thank you!! The brown paste is just fondant :) or hard icing depending where you live.. It can be bought ready made in store. I don't have a recipe for it as of yet.
Thank you ! I live in France so this will be difficult ^^' (sorry for my English by the way)

Hi there, Im making this cake this week, I was just wondering what is the recipe for the frosting? Thanks :-)
love it
I'm going to try and make this cake. I don't have an airbrush available, what do you you recommend me using instead?
You could probably brush on powder instead, starting very lightly and just building on top :)
Hi Rosie, this looks awesome I need to try it :) What are the exact amounts of ingredients for the buttercream though?
Hi +Lotte Heimes, thanks for your comment! To make buttercream it's 1:2 butter to icing sugar ratio. Then a teaspoon of flavouring and 2 to 3 tablespoons of milk. Hi +Teresa Toomer, this is a doll / dress cake pan. You can usually find it at your craft stores or at a cake decorating supplier for sure.
