It's funny how most pokemon youtubers have tons of dead air on commentary when they watch live battles but bkc is so knowledgeable and has so much to say that he never has this problem
I remember jamvad commentating his really old tour games and him taking 5x longer than he needed to every turn into taking a 20 second deep breath each turn
That's because other pokemon youtubers are just clickbaiting know-nothings who make all their money from being air headed loud mouths, instead of being good at any games.
@@ImortalZeus13 I mean yeah, Poketubers that appeal to the casual audience aren’t as good at the game because they appeal to an audience that isn’t as good at the game. Not being good at the game makes them frustrating for people who like competitive content, but that doesn’t make them better or worse as content creators. It’s a preference that you (and I) have, and should be seen as just that. Don’t be an elitist man. Besides, the big Showdown players are all pretty good. Can’t think of one off the top of my head that hasn’t proven themselves on the tour scene.
Great analysis but I just want to add one more comment. On turn 8, I think that another important reason for xray going drill is that it prevents cbb from getting in his drill and spinning. The only two other mons who do that are volc, which he wants to keep the berry on because of how likely it was to win, and lando, which is choice locked and thus can’t threaten xray’s team as effectively. Very smart positioning by xray to ensure that he doesn’t lose the strong advantage that he created for himself.
Ah, Gen VI Volcarona. What a terror. I also have to say: Gen VI gets shit on by a lot of comp players (you just say "T-Wave Clef" and people get war flashbacks). It makes me really happy to see such a prolific old-gens player as BKC getting behind it and showing people how fun it can be.
Watching CBB play gives you this weird feeling that you are actually seeing a TALENTED player, he sees stuff and he actually goes for it. This is super rare to see in Pokémon, where the biggest part of what makes the “ability” of a player is the knowledge of the opponent and the tier. It’s probably the only player where even in hindsight, I still wouldn’t have made those crazy plays he makes, even tho he lost this time

Very nice analysis, didn't really miss a thing :P Excadrill was Rock Slide, so I figured sacking MTar and simply revenging w Exca was my best chance since I wanted to keep rocks up no matter what and I figured volca was gonna win regardless at some point with a Screen or Safguard (from Lati) up
