    That moment when Pepper told Tony that he can rest now, I felt that. Thanos has been Stark's cross ever since New York, he couldn't sleep, he had panic attacks, he made mistakes because of Thanos (Ultron), and now that Thanos is gone Pepper tells him he can finally rest is such a huge relief because I genuinely believe that Tony is carrying the whole world on his shoulders. Which proves that Tony Stark has a heart.

      The ENTIRE Tony Stark story arc from beggining to end of the MCU was for him to attone for his sins. After making a life out of destruction and damage he spents the rest of it trying to protect the world and everyone on it; that's why he becomes Iron Man, that's why he creates all his armors, that's why he creates Ultron, that's why he accepts the Sokovia accords; yet he keeps failing over and over because new threats keep coming and coming. Pepper knew this better than everyone else, that's what makes that scene more powerful. She's telling him that he finally managed to make the world safe, and give everyone a chance to live a happy life; now he can finally rest in peace.

    I also think black widows death helped make the situation where Captain America, Thor, and Iron man more intense. That is because this is the first time you see an Avenger die and they aren't a background character she is a part of the original Avenger line so the fear that Captain America, Thor, or Iron man can die at that moment is stronger cause an original Avenger already died.

      Natasha is still pretty bad as a character though. Kinda sad they didn't do anything with her, and just decided to kill her off.

    • @thund3rbird738
      @thund3rbird738 4 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      @gerizzyYMcrew well she doesn't really get to do much in any of the movies, and we can't really see what her character is. Maybe not bad, but certainly weak

    • @thund3rbird738
      @thund3rbird738 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @gerizzyYMcrew Well what's the point of that movie if we already know how everything ends? It's hard to make a prequel that would not be useless. Star Wars prequels are good for example. You may not like the movies themselves, but from an aspect of telling how the whole galaxy ended up with an empire, how Anakin became Darth Vader, generally expanding on te worldbuilding, they are doing a pretty good job. But the Black Widow movie would probably be meaningless, just like the majority of the solo marvel movies.

    • @TrueMohax
      @TrueMohax 4 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      Thund3rBird
      A Black Widow movie could easily set up new characters and factions that the future Avengers will have to face.
      Take Captain America for example, it introduced Hydra who took over Shield which led to it dismantling.
      It also introduced us to the Tesseract. That led to another Prequel that gave us Captain Marvel (eh) and the Skrulls.

    I feel like Endgame's slow start works a whole lot better of you watch it directly after Infinity War. Infinity War is this jokey, high paced, action packed roller coaster and you still kinda have the feeling that everything's gonna work out and them SNAP half the universe is dead and that reality hits you like a ton of bricks. Then you get to stew in that feeling for an hour before things start to lighten up and then finally you get the greatest act 3 of all time

      @@Charziken909 I mean watching the two in tandem as one 6-hour movie. Like, there's a way to edit the end of infinity war and the beginning of Endgame to make one seamless transition, and I think that would justify the slow start of Endgame a lot more. Obviously Tony is still stuck in space and cap is on Earth, but if you weave in the Captain Marvel end credits scene, that's how you link the two

    • @Charziken909
      @Charziken909 5 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      I know what u mean.
      I'm talking about the part in IW where u said "u still kinda have a feeling that everything's gonna work out"
      I'm saying as soon as I saw there was no way for tony to make it back to earth or Steve to get to space, I knew it was over.
      Plus also these movies were titled part 1&2 at one point, so it was obvious that IW was gonna be a loss for them.

    • @cmd31220
      @cmd31220 5 ปีที่แล้ว +100

      @@Charziken909 yeah but you still have the characters doing their normal jokey banter and then at the end when Thor gets his axe and goes to wakanda, every movie trope ever says that Thanos is 100% gonna die and Thor is the one who's gonna do it, even after he gets the stones. Obviously you knew going in that they were gonna lose, but the way they did it there was always that voice in the back of your head that the Avengers were still gonna win. Like, iron Man and hulk are making dick jokes, Thor is unironically naming people rabbit, tree, and morons, and Captain America is casually talking about Thor's new haircut and his new beard. There's NO WAY a movie with all this humor is gonna delete half the universe, right?

    Emotionalist of Rollercoasters: Interestingly enough, the final scene of Tony holding the infinity stones and saying "and...I..am...Iron Man" before snapping is both exciting and dreadful, cause on one hand, Thanos's defeat is sealed, but once you remember what the stones did to the Titan and Professor Hulk, you know Tony won't survive the aftermath. And both deaths are done very well with no emotional gimmicks nor "last lines." Just them letting go in silence.

      Interestingly I found that line "and I am Ironman" to be both great and weak at the same time. It's great to have Tony say it because it ties his circle back to the starting point but on the other hand it was probably the most expected line for him to say at that moment. But of course he said it and his character arc was completed.

      Well actually Thanos's hand got all destroyed when he destroyed the stones, not when he snaped half of life. And another difference is that unlike thanos or hulk he just destroyed thanos's army. Not half of all life (which you could say is basically infinite because the universe is basically infinite)

    • @BillinHungary
      @BillinHungary 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@mikosoft Interestingly enough, the line wasn't "expected". The original script had Tony just silently snapping his finger - and that's exactly how they shot the scene. Months and months later, when the editors were assembling the film from all the different scenes, which of course were shot out of sequence, they felt like Tony needed to say.. something. One of them suggested "I am Iron man".. they agreed that it should be the line, but Robert Downey didn't want to have to redo the scene. He had shaved off the goatee and was working on other projects. Plus, it takes alot for an actor get back into that emotional frame of mind to make the scene look as deep as it was the first time they shot it. But a friend talked him into it - and I'm glad they went back and reshot the scene.

      Yes, thanos has an ideology based on his own suffering and his fear of overpopulation.

      I suppose my point is that is not all that drives him. And, yes, psychotic evil also comes into play.

      Larry Legend is a GOAT Let’s not pretend that these movies haven’t had impact. And “artistic qualities” don’t make a movie great. They just make a movie artistic. Ever wonder why film critics are so often out of step with audiences? It’s because they prioritize “artistic qualities” over what the vast majority of movie goers want to see. Call them popcorn flicks if you want but it’s really just a subjective opinion. The box office speaks for itself.

    • @tetsushatarii2108
      @tetsushatarii2108 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Larry Legend is a GOAT I’m not saying that box office numbers are all that makes a movie great. It seems like you’re saying however, that immense hype maintained over 11 years and 22 movies doesn’t make a series of movies great. My original point is that sure, these movies on their own don’t hold up against the subjective measurements critics use to rate movies. But for the last decade the film industry has been dominated by comic book movies. That’s not for nothing. The MCU has captured the imaginations of adults and children alike and brought us all on a long ride of ups and downs. People were actually going to see 2-3 movies a year of one particular franchise. Pretending like that’s because we all just want to go see mindless movies is really disingenuous. People have been invested in this story for years and in these characters (some more than others) for years. That’s not for nothing. It’s actually the exact opposite.

      Can't imagine how anyone who saw this movie viewed 30 minutes of Deus Ex Machina, 2 hours of time travel to some of the most boring scenes, and 30 minutes of an over-filled and un-focused fight scene as a suitable ending to this film series. Honestly, Captain America shouldn't have even technically been in the same timeline CONSIDERING IF YOU TIME TRAVEL YOU GO TO A SEPARATE UNIVERSE APART FROM YOUR OWN. Thanks for the poor writing Marvel.
      I'm not saying hate the movie, if you're gullible and consider those boring time travel sequences entertaining, by all means Back To The Future is one of your top 3 movie behind Endgame. But even I could have had a better screenplay for this movie instead of the horseshit that this film was.

Now that the Avengers are not around anymore, what will happen to this universe? What if another big bad villain comes along and threatens life as we know it? I love this movie so goddamned much. It's impossible to explain, even in a 16-minute well put together video.

      She had gone through so much, she wouldn't stop until she got her revenge for losing everyone she loved. It was very powerful indeed.
