Nice Interview. I am also from the Guntur district, studied at IIT-KGP, worked in a Pharmaceutical company, and left it for PhD in the UK, after a PhD and I did a post doc. and joined as an academic in the UK. I have been working as an academic for more than 20 years. So, I do understand why some people wish to do a PhD.

Many people jump in PhD without any motivation and preparedness. All they are taught is that they get easy money for 4-5 years thus, manay of them leave phd at the middle of the course.
Thank you man 👍👍 I was also graduated in 2014. Some people are saying it's little late fir PhD and do not quit the job. Your interview helped me a lot. Most of your thinking aligned with mine. R. Ranjeet
Not wanting to belittle IITians, but these days to get into IITs, you just need to work hard. Being intelligent is actually a bonus and not a necessary condition. I have made a conscious decision of not wanting to put my kids through hell in the name of IIT coaching and let their creativity dictate their lives.
Not really Would have been the case if he had gone to IVY league or other good unis in west coast like Berkley Stanford etc His current uni is good but not world class like the former ones are (which produce stalwarts like r rajan, damodaran etc) I guess he wanted to teach, was tired of corporate nonsense and ofc wanted to move to usa like many talented folks from here . Cos if the priority was money he wouldn't have left high paying job . Iim c grads earn a ton with each passing year

Hello Sir, Kindly make a video giving information about PhD after MBA in abroad. How to get accepted, procedure, stipend and preferred colleges and institutions in India for masters in Economics.
Sir I don’t have any working experience at all. What should I include in the resume for masters in CS ? I have done industrial internship and have a certification on that as well. I also have a project done on web development but I would like to study masters in cs rather than web development. I also have certification on python too. What to do in this regard?
It depends on the nature of your first job. If that is shitty people yearn to get back to academics. Masters is over so only PhD is next. Go to top colleges in usa...

Should we give preference for the supervisor or for the university while joining a PhD? I understand that Arun Rai is a renowned name in the field but GSU is a low-ranked university.
Hey, I've been following you for a long time on youtube and really appreciate your work. The Content is amazing. However, you seem to be inconsistent on YTB and Instagram. citations are very subjective. It depends on your area of work, the topic of your research, and accessibility of the journal where you publish. In sciences the citations tend to be on the high side. Whereas, if your research is in a unique field where there are few researchers, citations will be low. Econ of IS for example is one such field. That said there are examples even in sciences where a person had low citations but their work was unique and impactful. A recent example is of this year's nobel prize winner John Clauser who has low h-index and as compared to most successful researchers had much less citations but his work was impactful and he won the nobel prize.
yes, you can do it. You have to be on an F1 visa and working part-time at your workplace. Based on the experience I have seen, It becomes very stressful and not worth, so do full time phd
it is not brain drain. If 100 people graduate from IIMC let's say, how many go out to pursue a PhD. And people going out of a place for learning and pursuing opportunities is nothing new. One can even say that for a person in a village. Do not indulge in brain drain and do not go to a bigger city in another state to become a doctor. Will that make sense?
