P.S. P.S. This song is in Bb** NOT Ab. Long day filming these and I guess my brain shut off. 🤣😅
Hahahah
You should throw an annotation on the beginning of the video. This comment isn't being boosted to the top by YT anymore :/
I’m here for the outro
We're all here for that
Of course bro jajajaja
The outro is cake. I'm here for the verses lol
P.S. Sorry that my camera tried to be all cinematic with the focus on a few parts! That DC30 does look good in focus though...
This is what I've been waiting for! ❤🎸🤩😎
Thank you.
Awesome...I've been waiting for this one since weeks, thank you so much 🥰
Love these, man. It's cool to hear about the parts coming together - and to see how you and Jonathan split things up.
Awesome! Thanks for explaining and demo'ing those parts out!
This is one of those very rare guitar lines in Pdub that makes me feel like good guitar isn't dead. When I first heard it, I thought "I think I heard either a Floyd or a Bigsby underneath it all." So it was a Bigsby. Sounded really good. Almost had a Jeff Beck/Alex Lifeson influence in it. As a working guitar player for over 30 years (and a Pdub guitarist since 2003), the song was quite refreshing. The chord work was especially nice as well. I ~think~ I'm hearing a trend in the very recent church scene (like in the last 2 years) where lazy/uninspired guitar work is being replaced with players who are actually devoted to their craft. Puts a big smile on my face. I just ran across this particular video two days after band practice (so I already had the song down in the key we'll be playing it in), but I wanted to take the time to applaud your contributions. Great work. :)
U r so generous... To share ur talents!! God bless u.❤️ 🤜🏻🤛🏻
I always enjoy watching your videos. God Bless
Chorus pedal is just right in the mix with drives, brings the song to life. The strat tone is 🔥
Very good job and beautiful sound!!!
David Hislop the best guitar player! thanks for video tutorial!
Hi David, love your playing...waiting patiently for the Axe-Fx 3 preset(s) :)
I’m stoked to see how you recreate your sound within the FM3 being limited to one amp!
Beautiful tone
amazing sounds!!... best worship guitarrist out there
Loved this!! Thank you
Thanks for the tutorial brother 🔥
Would love to see you release the song specific patches for the HX Effects! Or even just a basic recreation of your board!
Excellent job!
toca muito, seus efeitos dão uma imersão top! manda bem demais!!!
When you learn the entire song by ear, AND THEN see Hislop made a video for it 11 months ago, AND played the solo in a totally different position than you figured he did. Now… to re-learn it, or keep it the way you thought it was played? Dang it.
Thanks for the very specific video, David!
Best worship guitarist!
David- great tone on the Strat there. I’m thankful God created Leo Fender, and you brother! I’m happy to see these videos in my feed
Take a look at my videos for more tutorials! Download my presets and IR's here: www.davidhislop.co/store
Letsss gooo bro 🙌🏽🚀
Awesome song I hadn’t heard. That lead is very Rush, Alex lifeson...especially 80s era!
This video was a life saver
Lindo demais esse arranjo 👏
Thank you very much for the lessons. )) There is a huge request and I think many will agree with it. Many people now use the BOSS DD-500 and RV-500 and MD-500))). It would be incredibly cool if you did sound presets for these pedals as well.
Just learned this song today still working on that outro though 😆
The solo sounds like a happy bunny hopping through a sunny meadow. For the Glory of God.
Outstanding tutorial! Awesome Worship whammy work. I just can't get the tight delay syncopation. What are the delay settings?
Let’s gooo
I’m seeing and hearing some Eric Johnson influence on the riff at the end. Nice
100k subs for david!
These tutorials are awesome! But the tutorial we really need is how to make the bridge pickup of a strat sound like this and not like I just shoved a knife into my ear drum
Please do glory to glory!!!
The 2 videos (Hislop and Pope) used to be on TH-cam, but were later removed for some reason. Maybe to be sold elsewhere by Bethel. 🤷🏻♂️
Hooooooow do you get that tone with a Strat?! Always thought I need a Veritas for that ha!
makes a video showing the best bigsky tones you use
Dude love the vid, just curious how u deal with the noise u get from the single coils?
Could you also make videos like this for when you play with B-Lake
How do you get your bridge pickup tone so smooth?
That would be good to know. I have a strat too. Good to see you here WW!
One of my fav parts, sir! That lick at the end has been stuck in my head since I first heard it. Just a clarification though: this song is in Bb, not Ab, correct?
Yes - Bb! My mistake... long day filming these so my brain must have shut off lol
@@DavidHislop Don't sweat it, man. It can't compare to the amount of times I've called a Strat a Tele and vice versa.
so for instance, for that main line you played at 3:20, would you double track that in the studio and pan left and right, or would you track it once?
Master blessings could you add a preset for fractal ax8 please
Anyone else wish Droff would do fo Hillsong what David and Jonathan do for Bethel?
Love this so much !!!! If I’m playing this in the key of A what capo would that be in? With the same fingering patterns ?
Thanks !
No capo in A for the same shapes - play it open :)
If you are in E standard tuning that is.
@@DavidHislop thanks brother !! Love your work and a big fan of you ! Thanks for being obedient to the lord and inspiring others like my self !!
Which of your POD GO patches would you recommend using for this song?
Third!
7:55 for the outro line 🎸
will there be a helix patch or i can use your helix bethel patch for this one ?
Yes - I am working on more helix patches with snapshots mapped out for the rest of the Revival's In The Air songs. They will be live next week most likely!
What in ear monitors do you use?
Can’t get my bridge palm mute to sound like yours. Something with the delay.
What pickup selection are you using
What pickups are in that strat? @davidhislop
stock EJ pickups?
American original 50’s strat?
Anyone know what pickups was he using here? 🤔
Stock! It’s a mid 2000’s EJ Strat.
It's in Bb though
10:08
Jesus Christ loves you
Is that BOBA FETT in the Background? XD
This is the way.
@@DavidHislop amen😆
Love the tutorial! So helpful.
Stay Blessed
Guitarists from the 50-80's: "We play all over the fret board and come up with epic riffs, legendary licks, and face melting solos"
Contemporary Christian guitarists today: "We use capos and effect pedals to play arpeggios"
This is just a joke but it's amazing to see the large amount of Christian guitarists using capos instead of just learning how to play the song in the key without a capo.🤔 Professional bicyclists don't need to use training wheels.
Hmm...spoken like someone who misunderstands how to effectively use a capo. It's not just a tool so you can move the one G chord you know and play in any key - here I am using it to essentially shift the tuning of the open strings into the correct key so I can utilize the brighter tone and feel of open strings in the parts of the song rather than fretting the string, which would change the tone. Sure, you might be able to play the parts without the capo, but the tone won't be the same and you won't be able to drone the open strings in certain parts like I do here. It would be like playing a piano without a sustain pedal. I dare you to try Mr capo hater, I'll watch that video when you put it out and we'll see if it sounds the same or not...
Keith Richards, Mark Knopfler, George Harrison, Tommy Emmanuel, The Edge etc. guess they all used “training wheels” from time to time lol
It’s a feel and sound thing my man. You want certain notes to drone and sustain while your doing other things on the fret board… it ain’t rocket science… Rule of thumb: always do what sounds best.
I assume this guy uses only power chords and “face melting solos” over everything 🫠
This guy certainly doesn't know David's skills 😂
