Heat level 1: Just a small warning from patrol units.
Heat level 5: Cops are getting more aggressive and call rapid responce units.
Heat level 10: RCPD has no mercy what so ever, you're the only thing that matters in Redview County!
Funnest thing is in the one:1 with turbo at heat 10 on highways, lots of fun!
Heat level 50: 100 cops and 100 helicopters that are 10mph faster than your car

Terribly underrated.
NFS was onto something with this one then U-turned in favor of the street racing, Underground esc story line. If they did a mash up of Rivals and Heat then it could be another concord racing game moment like Underground 2 was 2004... IF they do it right.
@@NocturnalJunkie Honestly the underground street scene style of it all kinda makes it boring to me, it feels as generic as it gets making that be the whole basis of the story, we never do these random little coordinated street races in heat and unbound, they're entire meets and bet on races, rivals felt like a true battle, street races weren't really coordinated, you happen to find a street race and just join in it because why not, they dont coordinate it with you, they just drive by and then you follow, and to me that's one of the things that made the game so damn fun, it didn't feel like I was this highly known driver, didn't feel like I needed all these people funding my every move and being a race horse in it all, felt like a lone driver, a single person who tested others one by one, at least in a way, felt alive really, compared to modern ones, even though it really didn't, the game really had its own magic (sorry about the sudden book report essay type beat, idk how I just went so heart felt into this single reply lol)

For me it feels like a spiritual successor to Hot Pursuit.
I like the damage visuals in this game in terms of split edges of vehicle bumpers flapping due to high speed. Also with a car like the Hennessy Venom you can see spilts in the front body panel which looks pretty cool imo.
This game was by far the most "difficult" in the series besides the Canyons from Carbon. Hella fun

@@VishaL-nf8be 2015 was exceptionally easy. the cop "chases" were a joke and the races weren't much better. I'm glad they brought back car damage and aggressive cop ai after 2015 and 2017 because the lack of both made the whole point of cop chases meaningless.

this is both stressful BUT good fun for a Need for speed game. I actually like how agressive AI cops once they chase you down.
This was the last NFS title that I found fun to play as it gave off a LOT of nostalgic vibes but in a modern format... excluding power ups/weapons/countermeasures (which added a fun flare to the game).
To me, Rivals basically took the ideas/premise of Hot Pursuit (the console trio of games) as a base then ramped up the insanity with both AI racers and police. In addition to that, it had a SWEET map with a great mix of technical road sections and hazards/obstructions. In my honest opinion, that gives Rival's the best free-roam map to this day and gives very good pre-Underground era NFS course map vibes but its all seamless thanks to free-roam.
If NFS's upcoming title can one up this map layout wise, have damn good IA racers and police (and not nerf them), offer 2015 to Heat like customization (for you personalization fans... I'm not one of them. :P), and a decent story backdrop... Then the came would be a banger since it would have a good dab of something to appeal the entire spectrum of NFS fans from '94 to now, not just post-Undeground era folk.
A.. motherfuckin men. Dream game really, nothing's come close to this game when it comes to driving for nfs, felt fun to drift, felt fun to drive. Felt like you had a damn bounty on your head just for leaving the garage, kinda liked that tbh.

The early need for speed games ( 7th gen to early 8th gen) were truly dark times for the developers ngl. Carbon, prostreet, *especially undercover* , mw2012, rivals, 2015, all had some very dodgy development time frames and so much cut content, but still managed to provide something for its playerbase.
I loved carbon and 2015 the graphics is crazy on 2015 I had a og Xbox one and I was like damn every time playing it

Honestly, aside from how buggy it is, this is probably my favourite ghost nfs game. Definitely the one I played the most of.
I prefer tuner cars to supercars, I like customisation, and the weapons feel kinda over the top, but this is the only recent need for speed game with an actually fun pursuit system.
Nfs heat is good and all, but they rarely use roadblocks, spikes, it takes ages to get to a decent heat level and by then you probably don't have many repairs left so you have to end it pretty quickly. But I've spent hours straight in long pursuits in this game and it's the most fun I've had in nfs for years.
Even the handling (while break to drift) is the most predictable and controllable out of the frostbite games (at least with the 60fps fix on pc)
you do have the daytime pursuits in heat, infinite repairs, but nothing at stake
Totally agree, tons of bugs are annoying af, but at the same time this game is fun af, this is real NFS HP, not that junky empty game with one of the worst handling models which "deserved" a remaster lol

Honestly the next best thing to rivals I've found is 2015 with a handling and cops mod. Although the cops mod often makes pursuits impossible with a charger ramming you from behind at 400mph around a 90° corner
Honestly this game wouldn’t work without brake to drift in my opinion it makes it more intense and fun. Obviously in the new ones I wish it was absent but in this game it’s the most fitting.
Don't forget that most of the game was done by Criterion although Ghost is claiming the full credits.

Ngl this might be my favorite nfs game due to the fact that it came out a litter after i really got into gaming and right after i got my ps4 and the ideas of the tech being in the cars made the racing so intense and the pursuits were actually kinda challenging at times

I still play rivals even with owning 2015, heat, and the hot pursuit remaster. Other ones getting boring, rivals you can play forever. You can fight online with the weapons and die, lose it all, yell, try again. It's Hella fun!

I honestly think they should add the rear-view mirror like on Rivals and Hot Pursuit in NFS 2022 instead of having to change your camera view so often just to look behind you.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE NFS GAME! And I’ve played them all. Unbound is second don’t ask why I just loved the feeling of all out war against some stupid police or Buffoon racer!! It was so awesome…. Man I miss this game…. I love it so much. Honestly my favorite game overall
The most Annoying Thing In need for speed rivals is that people will always chase With a random car and use the Shockwave every single time need for speed rivals is a game full of Chaos and Girefing And Bretraying and Close calls which makes our Heart beep so hard like Justin beiber slap A girl things that are so hard And so frustrating to make our heads literally burn 😂

Next nfs should implement some of the physics and graphics of rivals, in today's gaming industry it would be a big success, I know it doesn't feel much need for speedy but still great game, maybe also try switching up and going outside of the usa, or even just give us a way bigger map with multiple cities.
Need for Speed can be a new kind of racing esport games even, that focuses on car to car combat and endurance, instead of being the fastest dude.

Hey, you should look up for Test Drive Unlimited 2 Project Paradise Mod, it's a mod that restore the multiplayer, it's in early stage but so far is awesome how well it works.

The biggest problem with NFS Rivals is that the cops were WAYY too OP and racer car health would burn away in like 3 minutes with even the smallest taps from cop cars. If racers weren't made of wet napkins, the cop chases would be awesome. Otherwise, this was a fun game to play.
Well you could upgrade you're cars durability and last longer
@@legostopmotionguy13 It does almost nothing though, so unless the car has 7 durability to start, the durability upgrades are pretty much useless.
