26:23 The reason why I like the handling in Need for Speed Most Wanted 05 is because the car felt like it had actual weight. The new handling feels like I'm on ice skates.
More like the cars are too stiff
Theo: “How do we graphically compare Heat to another good looking game?”
Me screaming at the screen RDR2:
Yeah vanilla gta v ain’t nothing to get excited about, especially the time heat comes out
in terms of graphics, 2019 has plenty of beasts so in comparison Heat looks pretty mediocre.. Forza Horizon 4 was released in 2018 and that game looks miles better than Heat
You're kidding, right?
Heat is not even close to RDR2
Even Forza Horizon 3 looks better than Heat and that released in 2016
and if you're comparing the PS2 version of MW to Gran Turismo 4 on PS2, no comparison
Yes, also you’re touching a hornet nest with this one.
It's OK. He's allowed to
No, he isn't. Heat is better than MW. MW only wins here by one point, and that is most likely just from bias.
There is no easter bunny. There is no tooth fairy. And there is no MW being better than Heat overall.
It's only in certain aspects that it is better. The music is banger. It kinda technically has an actual plot (The one in Heat is kinda mid ngl.). And the car sounds are n0ice. Everything else is kind if to the player to decide. Both Heat and MW have some customization that the other doesn't. The map is also up to preference. The police are up to preference (do u prefer tougher, more straight-forward police or a more dynamic, slightly weaker police... that is also kinda buggy so you can lose them by cheesing them?). The car list is way bigger in Heat, but some if not all cars from MW would be nice to have in Heat. :(
Also, both don't have the 240sx SE. So, Underground 2 is better anyway.
@@luislebronaponte2737 Mw>Heat 7/10.
- Better music overall, Heat has good night music but day music is meh
- Mw has a lot variety races which all work well, Heat has variety if you include offroad and drifting, but both of those are kinda bad lets be honest.
-Heat's day races is mostly just 3 lap races which gets repetitive really fast
-Map is kind of a preference, but Mw map is filled with shortcuts, which makes it more action packed, as you have to make decisions which route you wanna go
-The handling works in Mw 90% of time, in Heat 50%, this is the biggest deal breaker, the other game works and the other, well sometimes
@@brock7405 Music is preference, so out of the equation.
The variety of events in Heat is more varied than MWs bc you literally need different performance parts for each. Heat's handling is definitely more arcadey and I'd say this one is also up to preference, so is also out of the equation.
Therefore, the only argument you'd be left with (since you said that map is preference), is with the event variety which Heat technically wins over MWs. It doesn't need to work. It is about being varied.
The game working can be its own category smh. Heat loses in that regard, though (for obvious reasons).
If we're talking about short cuts, Heat has some, but definitely not as many as MW.
So, what are we left with here?
1 vs. 2 (Heat has event variety and MW has race shortcuts and having less bugs or weird physics). The other stuff is moreso up to preference. And, according to me, Heat is better overall. It just so happens to go 1vs.2 with the specifics that you mentioned that aren't preference-based.
It would go 2vs.2 normally since having a bigger and more varied map shouldn't be up to one's preference, but it is what it is.
@@luislebronaponte2737Not gonna mention no Queen of England?
Games back then weren't based on multiplayer service type so you had the best single player experience with all the content
I think that if Heat was completed and up to the expectations and full vision that Ghost had for the game, then we could’ve easily had one of the best modern nfs games for years to come. The game already takes massive inspiration from the classic Blackbox games.
well if EA didnt pull the plug and the game got content updates until unbound i'd say heat would even win over the MW fanboys, and you know how dedicated those people are to saying MW is made by god himself
if Heat had a longer story by atleast 6 or 7 more hours. I'd honestly easily place it above Most Wanted 2005.
@@rlfpotatoking9253 Heat is unfinished though, the story was supposedly to be longer.
Omg! My IS300 is in a need for speed! I need to play this old game
NFS Heat had so much unfinished potential that never came to be, they literally had something great in their hands and just said fuck it, dropped a dlc that added two cars and left it for dead.
Speed trap should return to nfs
Really love it
I’d agree but only if rubberbanding gets turned way down. IMO Speedtrap was infuriating because of rubberbanding in Most Wanted.
Most Wanted 2005 in my opinion is when EA was at its peak in the 2000s. The police chases and customization from the Hot Pursuit and Underground series all coming together in Most Wanted. In my opinion, racing games overall during the 90s and 00s were brilliant as there was so much variety and creatively from the many developers that were around at the time, and EA nailed it with Hot Pursuit, Underground, and Most Wanted. I feel that Heat is a vision of what a modern equivalent of Most Wanted 2005 would be, but we won't really know as EA shut Ghost Games down and there was no chance of adding new content afterwards. I prefer the pursuits of Most Wanted 2005 as it felt like a true police department was chasing you at the time from the dialogue between dispatch and officers to the rap sheet that records all of your infractions. Many reasons why MW 2005 is still one of the best in the NFS series.
the thing with Polestar and M3 GTR is that there's no personal attachment to Polestar not because we haven't spent time with it, but because there is no reason to
it got sunk in the water, and we never see it again
M3 GTR worked because the end goal wasn't to become the Most Wanted, but to take the car back
it also was OURS, Polestar is some kid's car, and after the cutscene the game gives you a different character to play as, to whom Polestar means nothing
and the livery on M3 GTR is also better, I love yellow on Polestar, but it's just boring in comparison
and don't forget - the M3 GTR is a street illegal race car, Polestar is just a car your nan can buy
The only thing I miss about old nfs games are the chases. Smashing through roadblocks without taking damage, pursuit breakers… we really need that in the next one. Imagine smashing through a gas station with nowadays graphics and physics
I thought I was the only one who vibed to tu manera
IT'S FUN MAN
Yes, Most Wanted is.
edit: u cheeky boi u thought u could change the title to make our comments look like heat was better 😂
Nope its not
customization Heat > MW
cops Heat > MW
cars Heat > MW
graphics Heat > MW
@@Einfach_Ghetto_TV AINT NO WAY BLUD JUST SAID HEAT COPS WERE HARDER
and if you prioritize graphics over gameplay you’re critiquing a game wrong, nothing has to adhere to industry standards to be enjoyable
@@Einfach_Ghetto_TVBruh💀.The cops in MW'05 are agressive asf.And also once you lose your tires (spiketraps) you will drive without tires until you enter a garage which makes it harder cuz you will drive slow and driving slow in MW'05 while being chased is basically suicide.
@@iiTsFaded_ mw cops just gang up and pin on you lol
@@semihsahin2573 last part is the same thing in heat broly
I think now as an adult, I appreciate quick race as end game more and more. In heat, if I just want to build a car and try it, I need to first do 3 hours of ramp jump grinding to make enough money, and then test it out. And that is an option that's missing for the past however many need for speed out there.
Underground 2 will forever be my favourite Need For Speed and probably favourite game ever. I love supercars more than anyone but the fact NFSU2 had zero of them makes it even better.
My top 10 list:
1) ProStreet
2) Underground 2
3) The Run
4) Carbon
5) Most Wanted 2005
6) Underground
7) NFS 2015
8) Payback
9) Heat
10) Most Wanted 2012
My Top 10 list.
1) Carbon
2) MW 2005
3) Prostreet
4) UG 1
5) UG 2
6) Heat
7) Hot Pursuit 2002
8) Rivals
9) Shift
10) Heat
Both of yall are pretty based to me. For me:
1. Heat
2. Carbon
3. Hot Pursuit Remastered
4. Underground 2
5. Payback
Off Topic.. let the devs know we need some gauntlet races ( with Xtra xp) in the pvp rotation on unbound.. those races are so great with full lobby
Carbon deserves to be on the top level there lil bro
110 percent
Me too, but Carbon didn’t have interesting areas to explore like Most Wanted and the game is really short to beat unlike Most Wanted being longer to beat. And crew are a possibility, but make it a little too easy until you get to Silverton. And big amounts of money won normally from events first time, cannot be earned infinitely again after. Only 500-700-750 cash you can only earn on repeated races, kinda disappointing. Most Wanted lets you get the big amounts of money infinitely on repeated races. So yeah, hate to tell you. Most Wanted is better than Carbon. Carbon is close, but not better than Most Wanted according to the community.
@Darkshock25 carbon is better for the simple fact that it was not allowed to be finished. This is proven by the fact some things can't even be unlocked. That would affect its length etc. I believe carbon was also supposed to use the bounty and CTS system but ea just cut black box short and threw them in another direction because as it stands bounty in the game made no sense as it had no use besides reward cards. I think mods like battle Royale that extend it's length really showed its potential. But to me. The music that changes dependant on where you are in the race, what car you use, the adaptive music they play and its atmosphere, along with the class system for cars they used places it on top for me. I am biased as it's my most played need for speed and I'm also looking at how good the game could have been if black box actually finished it. But I gotta say if I wanna hop on a game and just drive I'd play carbon. Because it's shorter I actually have a bit more motivation to replay it more often. Btw this is in no way me saying most wanted was bad. What I am saying is I think it deserves to be on the same level. So does underground 2
Carbon paved the way for pc nfs @Darkshock25
Get over yourself, carbon could have been a DLC add-on to most wanted. Carbon is nowhere near as impactful or near the level of MW05 or Heat.
24:11 ...omg thank you, someone who really appreciates the handling of undercover!
The perfect NFS would need:
- Unbound unite customisation
- Most Wanted/Carbon story feel
- NFS 2015 Graphics
(And rivals cops difficulty…you know its true)
Wow, and you chose the worst graphics out of them all xD
@@krilazWell its the most realistic look, obvs needs some enhancements
Most wanted. For me it’s for a lot of my own reasons. I find I can control the car better I feel like heat the car randomly goes straight when I need to turn or turns and drift when I don’t need to and is only brake to drift. Also the damage is annoying because heat gets damaged out to easily in pursuits but most wanted it fun sometimes to just keep going and cause huge amounts of chaos. Another reason is I find to many collectables to try and unlock thing I like it more simple like the old nfs games just mostly being able get everything unlocked from playing through the story with just a few collectables maybe. But that’s probably just me a lot of other people probably like it that way. Most wanted feels like I can keep replaying it over and over again replayed it almost 100 times now on my ps2 but heat doesn’t feel like that but go back to my heat profile once or twice a year and play for about an hour.
Most Wanted was a great game overall comparing to other games in general. But in this comparison, the nostalgia factor plays a big part. However, in my opinion, if they "upgrade" MW to newer technologies or "downgrade" Heat to MW standards, MW would win because of its atmosphere. But overall, Heat is a better technically even relating each one to its generation. So, technically, Heat is better, the gameplay loop is better, it brings two environments, the competitive day time and the more dangerous night time but overall, the atmosphere of MW, specially because of the music and the serious tone to get you car back and all, makes it a game most desirable to beat.
Most wanted is just nostalgia, also I’d prefer most wanted over heat bc heat doesn’t have the F132, also mw does
NFS MW is the best NFS hands down people can argue with a wall 😂
Great vid man. Video idea:do the same thing with the 2 worst need for speeds
feel: mw imo. every song puts you in a 185 mph adrenaline rush and the pursuits have intense music based on heat level, and the cops using real codes during pursuits, gotta be honest it’s mw 💀 gritty, dangerous, and eerie all while being hard metal and on edge.
every song? i think we forgot Jamiroquai's feels just like it should is a racing song
pursuits music sounds like CSI Miami
Gritty "5 GRUHHHND"
dangerous "My 60 footer quartuh mayeeel"
eerie "Heeey homies look! hey can you still say homie i dunno man im from old school"
hard metal "Heeey homies look! hey can you still say homie i dunno man im from old school"
on edge "smokes everything here... including this pump gas kit car" says the last one on the blacklist
@@CertifiedWTRPerson you're so wrong
I love that tu manera so much 😂😂
Just my honest 2 cents on the Heat cops at 18:50... I feel you're forgetting that the cops in Heat were NERFED during an update shortly after release. 😉
So the real question may be Most Wanted 2005 vs pre-nerf Heat vs post-nerf police AI?
Pre-nerf Heat cops definitely were much more aggressive and gave MW2005 cops a damn good run for their money when you take pursuit and speed breakers out of the equation. After the update, their scaling seemed to have been too watered down.
Level 5 cops after the update feel more like the level 3 or 4 cops upon initial release. In a similar manner to MW2005's level 4 cops feel like Carbon's level 5.
Yeah i can't believe Theo forgot about that, he usually talks about the nerf cops when talking about Heat.
That's why I still have the Day 1 version of NFS Heat on my PS4, the police AI is awesome and just as strong as MW05. Too bad all these gamers with skill issues were complaining and Ghost Games had to tone it down
40:14 You're wrong. There were special parts that you could get for your car in the main missions. When you defeat a Blacklist racer you got special blacklist parts( If you can get them) for your car. If you got them all, you can max out your car to God Tear.
Heat/NFSU2: Customization. Rivals: Cops. NFS 2015/Underground 1/2: Vibe. MW2005: Story.
MW 2005 and Carbon both have some impact on Heat's story.
Also i think Undercover also had some sort of impact on Heat's story.
BOYYYSSS WE NEED A NEED FOR SPEED HEAT2!!
the thing is, in old era of NFS, i agree is MW '05 no comentary but in new era of NFS is gotta be Heat, my fav NFS games, and Unbound is good too but the cops are usless, you just play with them so the best NFS games are NFS MW '05 and NFS Heat 100%
In Heat, the story evolves as you go. Most Wanted is basically checking things off a list, not unlike Unbound. (Edit: I also prefer the overall outrun/vaporwavey vibe of Heat, and I hope they revisit that in future installments.)
41:07 My favorite Need for Speed game would be Need for Speed Most wanted "the Ultimate heat". A game that should be made. But probably will never be.
My List (from what I played):
1) Heat
2) Carbon
3) Most Wanted
4) Rivals
5) 2015 (blinded by nostalgia)
6) Hot Pursuit Remastered
7) Underground 2
8) payback

the soundtrack fits the game's setting especially the composed tracks for the game like OOH SO GOOD!!!!

Unpopular opinion: Rivals
The answer is yes mate. You don't need 41 minutes to explain why 🤣
Absolutely do
Even though rivals had its issues… it was the most fun I’ve ever try had playing a game since Portal 2.
Dang, looking back at these games they were far from good… but they had that 1 thing that made them special. Rivals all time favorite game for me.
if 2015 is cheesy then mw is also cheesy. fight me
Honestly in terms of story i don't think NFS never had any actual good ones they're all always been a little cheesy or just plain boring.
@@ReikiMaulana Carbon had a better story then MW imo.
Carbon in my opinion had a much more darker and more serious vibe then MW, maybe bcz of it's night setting
I guess, but Carbon felt more enjoyable then MW.
Most wanted on top it’s even better with mods
Don't include mods and be objective, and you're probably blinded by nostalgia
I’m sorry but UG2 holds a special place into my heart. Those times where classes are suspended because of typhoons then playing all day with it is timeless. UG2 deserves to be one of the best.
Story wise… carbon is a candidate for sure.
MW is also my top tier on this list. No version of NFS gets your heart beating like MW.
Best overall version is Heat… Graphics good and storyline is good also.
Heat is good but Most Wanted blacklist was better. But Heat lost out due to lack of promotion and updates. I have played another NFS game ever since. I’m not going through all that nonsense again. I would rather another midnight club game.
Chevy colbat ss is my go to starter. After that, I’ll use the cars I got from blacklist to go up the ladder. Although, I also like customizing my own rides.
I believe that the best way to address this is with a tier list. Both are S tier. Whether you put MW in front or behind Heat would be up to preference.
Let's be fair, NFS Heat having a good story was unexpected
they finally nailed a good story but its so short
@@rlfpotatoking9253 the being short was super sad honestly i really got into the story felt very serious too and seeing a cop driving a racers F40 and having to follow him was sick too
@@youssef1770 I know, the story was SO good, we had Shaw who was like the new Sgt Cross and when papi's camaro was damaged it kinda hit me in the feels because its a family car of the riveras and they had other crazy moments like Lucas being kidnapped. NFS Heat could have easily topped MW05 if it had a longer story.
The story wasn’t even that good lol
Agreed.
Nostalgia glasses imho
finally, someone who speaks truth
most wanted is a great game no doubt but its not that great, what it does well it does amazing, what it does bad its god awful
@@CertifiedWTRPerson true, everyone says cops are best but imho Heat and Rivals had much better, in most wanted they just folow you and waiting when you do some mistake (which yeah is realistic but not much fun), but still game of childhood definetly
I never feared the cops in most wanted I played with them for fun. My brother who grew up in MW came over the other day to play heat and because of how damage works in heat had him genuinely screaming
yeah, Rivals cops are better than Mw05 and Heat, problem with MW05 is that it ends up becoming a game of "get to the closest pursuit breaker" over and over which makes it easier to escape the cops. NFS Heat Day 1 version (pre nerf cops) are just as aggressive as MW05 but Rivals beats them both for sure
Definitely, most of the NFS fans are blinded by nostalgia and can't grow up nor make up their minds what they want
Man, I wish they had another reference to Cross in NFS Heat. Like a line of dialogue talking about him, or something like a headline in the news scenes… But I’m happy we got the one reference where Ana keys Shaw’s car…
When it comes to progression i give it to most wanted. In heat i found out i can easily get max level without playing the story which was dumb to me. In most wanted i had to actually play the game to get certain performance upgrades i needed.
Plus the progression with the cops involved in most wanted i loved especially hearing that intense themes when they on you.
Undercover is underappreciated. The nitro actually helped when turning corners. I loved that. But it wasn't realistic.
bro milking this title
NFSMW 2005's handling wasn't better, but it sure was more fun
also barely anyone mentions the dynamic pursuit music in NFSMW, it's so cool how it changes depending on the intensity of the chase and whatever is going on. I assume Heat kind of does something similar, but MW did it really nice and it was subtle
Carbon literally tripled the amount of dynamic music
@@Critical365but you dont even spend that much time in pursuit because theres no events to complete.

Honestly opinion: hot pursuit 2010 and undercover have the best soundtracks
well, my time to say this but heat just gets overhated and shadowed(if thats even a word..lol) because 80% of the community is filled with folks yes you too that are blinded by nostalgia and crap, yall plz get a grip and just accept the game's about to age and modern games are going to change, simply shut up about mw2005 hate why it has to be compared to a newer title thinking its better than that which in this case its not.
U just didn't grow up with most wanted
Also they provided the hero polestar after the update but to this day, years later, they've not provided the body kit to make your own version in the colour/s you want! That always really bothered me, it wasn't available in the original release and then when it was released they didn't release the body kit with it. And a huge let down, they tease you at the beginning with the classic camaro, having an option you can't choose out of your starter cars and then at the end you didn't even get to unlock to drive it, or at least get the customisation to be able to make your own version with the same parts and kit!, even all these updates later! Nothing.
That’s because Ghost Games was folded back into EA Gothenburg.
EA basically gave up on Ghost Games. Heat’s post-launch potential was killed with this one.
I’ll die on this hill, Carbon is the best NFS ever created when you take all factors into account.
I haven't played since Shift 2 and Rivals but I recently bought Heat and Payback when it was on sale. Now Heat is without a doubt the best NFS game I've ever played. It also reminds me a lot of Midnight Club in some ways but better.
Nfsmw 2005 over all of em. 💯 No feelings or opinions can overcome this solid biblical FACT!!!! 🙏
You're blinded by nostalgia
You should do Hot Pursuit vs Rivals
The end game was regaining your car from the beginning, I remember playing against my brother in competitive races we’d both create our car then race it out, forza gets boring after 2 weeks of playing yes there’s a lot of things to do but they are more like busy work and no actual story line
Please do another budget build
My favorite need for speed’s are
nfs most wanted 05, payback, rivals, 2015, the run, 3:hot pursuit(the original hot pursuit), carbon, underground 1 and 2
Theo, for the part comparison, you would have chosen Mazda RX-7. NFS MW always have the most impact.
Rockport is a fictional city of Pittsburgh, PA, Seattle, WA & Portland, OR, USA.
0:58 why does this make me crack up so much- 😭
Heat is one of the best NFS games we've had in a while, but aside from the day and night mechanic and general cop difficulty, it didn't really add too much. NFS most wanted isnt really comparable given it's age, but in terms of influence it had on the series, how recognisable it is, and just how fun and chaotic it can be, I think MW would take it. I think both are fantastic games, and if things went a different way for ghost, i think heat could have been one of the best the series has seen.
I might get killed for this take but I'm going with Heat. NOW hear me out NFS MW is a top tier NFS game but Heat added so much to the series that stick and became the best game in the new era of the series not saying MW dosen't do thinks better like the cops, characters, and car sounds are Phenomenal. But I would say Heat took those parts and added on a bit of it and it work, now if EA belived in Heat we would of seen a lot more updates
That's a very weird take. You are saying heat perfected some of the key game design from most wanted and then give the credit to heat for adding those design elements into the need for speed franchise that has since had one more game that is mixed at best
@@jkliao6486 They didn't perfected but they got most things right bc Heat is basically this new generations MW. Now obviously there are things that could be done better but you see people praise Heat or even going back to it after Unbound bc there's so much of a community and great gameplay there and even now most are enjoying Unbound too. I would say it is a bit of Nostalgic talking from some but that's fair old NFS were good and completed games, but we can't act like old NFS didn't have their problems too
@@jjtails So now you are saying heat didn't even perfect the game elements MW pioneered, but you are still giving the credit to heat because that is clearly the game that establishes the foundation for the only game coming after it and worthy of the name of shaping the franchise. I'm sorry, mate, but that's not sound logic and I'm now pretty sure you are just having recency bias.
I got Heat > MW05. I'm 30 years old. I remember years ago playing MW alot, but here's why I like Heat more:
- No rubberbanding
- More customization
- Day and Night options
- Blue-pink layout
- Not mandatory to destroy cops
- Classic muscle cars
To me Heat is what Carbon should've been except for the fact that autosculpt, invincibility, and Canyon races aren't in Heat.
How is Heat that high with such a mediocre handling model? I can agree on it being better than 2015's handling model, but it still has weird quirks about when drift mode exists and doesn't. At best Heat is a car customization game with a bad arcade racer attached to it. A car customization game where an NSX and GT-R R32 have barely any parts available. Best Paint customization I've ever seen though, it deserves praise for that.
Pants i think what you were trying to say about story is that MW's "PREMISE" is what is better, you could make a show around it and it would kick ass, but heat's EXECUTION of its Story and its tone was better.

Most Wanted of course is the best. Years without playing and i can remember all the memories i got with that game. Heat by the order hand is not a bad example, i got to much fun but i have i problem and it's night progression. People say "no it's fine because of the Ultimate parts" but ¿what you can do offline at 100%? ¿Get stressed with the intense police?
No competition right here boys
I have finished heat with only 3 cars 1 car mustang 2 car doge 3 car schewrolet camaro and when I was done I also boght a porche 911 for the ultimate parts idk why I can't tune the bmw m3 from mw I only want to chamge the color to red and black insted of blue and silver
38:02 Agree. They do burn themselves out too quick.
If Heat had actual fun car physics, rather than the brake to drift bullshit (or clutch to drift, whatever they swapped it to, it's the same idea), it would rate a lot higher for me
But it doesn't, so I gotta rate it for what it is, and that's not higher than a B on my tier list
It's serviceable
I enjoy these videos a lot, but I do think that comparing such games which were released in different eras is not fair. And comparing games in a certain era would be more fair. I also think that NFS has had endgame problems, so in my opinion, adding teasers to the next game through challenges would be my opinion of what they could do.
Most wanted and pro street for me
Love MW (2005) but never thought I would enjoy Heat so much, not being nostalgic, I give Heat a little over MW
There's another point where MW 2005 takes the win: Monetization. Why? Because there's none! The game didn't rely on DLC, season passes, microtransactions nor any nickel and diming scheme to be fun and engaging. So, it's actually a 10-8 score in favor of the older game.
