And if they had Mitch Jeter, the most accurate kicker in school history, they definitely beat Bama. Unfortunately Jeter went to Norte Dame as a 5th year Senior to pursue Grad School. And really there were multiple bad calls in the LSU game...including two Pick 6's called back on completely bogues calls.
@@GodLovesComicsyou just put in Kai. Simple. Yes, you need to get Alex the Hometown Kid some time to adjust but he’s had plenty of time for that, Kai can hit that thing from the other end of the field!!
Only one penalty on the pick sixes was called wrong...the 1st was called correctly per the current horse collar rule..grabbing of the jersey above the lettering/numbers while the QB is in the pocket is considered a horse collar tackle. The 2nd is the controversial one because the ref's mike wasn't working properly and no one could hear what he said and only saw his hand signal for unnecessary roughness. So there was a debate on what the unnecessary roughness call was for...either late hit or blindside block. If it was for late hit, then that call would be wrong because Nussmeier wasn't touched until after the interception was made and he advanced toward Emmanwori, thereby making him eligible to be hit. If it was called as a blindside block, that would be wrong also because the rules were changed in 2019 and had a bunch of new actions added to the list. But in the rules, there's a list of 'exceptions'..with 'using your hands to block' being one. Which is exactly what Kennard did against Nussmeier, who should eventually win an Oscar for his superb acting skills in 'The Flop'. But that call wasn't the nail in the coffin...that came when Kennard jumped offside on 4th down, giving LSU a first down.

Honestly South Carolina has played so well this season, especially ramping up as the season has gone on, that the prospect of playing an awful Michigan team in the Music City Bowl sounds like a real downer. Hard to find a matchup outside of the CFP that sounds exciting. Definitely NOT Iowa (or Illinois)! If possible Penn State, Nebraska (where former SC OC Marcus Satterfield works), or Notre Dame (where SC's great kicker Mitch Jeter now plays) are the most attractive games. Tragic South Carolina won't make the CFP, because there's not a single team in the Playoff that would want to see Carolina.
Presuming South Carolina ends up 9-3. It is obvious that conferences make more money with the more teams they get into the CFPs. South Carolina was pre-season ranked by SEC as #13, or a bottom tier team. The question of whether LSU was perceived as a possible playoff team, while South Carolina was not, and as such was protected. South Carolina also lost its starting QB who was running all over LSU in 1st half. I think you could make a GREAT argument that Gamecocks' schedule was more difficult than Georgia's and South Carolina performed better against its schedule than Georgia did, except that Georgia scored a TD against Ole Miss in their loss.
As a gamecock, much as it hurts me to say it - we ain't gettin in the playoff. A committe that thinks Penn State is the 4th best team record wise is clearly nuts.
It's going to happen!! No other team in the nation deserves to be in that playoff. The Gamecocks are getting better each game. We can win out in blowout fashion and get a little help rivalry week and sneak in!!
I seen something earlier saying that if a&m beats texas and Carolina beats mizzou and clemson by good margins then the payoff committee could look at Vanderbilt being Texas most impressive win and Carolina could possibly jump into texas place since Carolina beat Vanderbilt by more than them
I think this is a very realistic possibility. Another Texas loss, and an ND loss to Southern Cal makes SC attractive- assuming they win out in dominant fashion.
I think SC gets a pass for the Ole Miss game but we should have closed out that LSU and Bama game. Those losses hurt more then Ole Miss. I think we do have a shot if we win out and look impressive doing it. Mizzou, Clemson Vandy and Texas A&M will be a good resume
The only way the Gamecocks get in the discussion is beat both Missouri and Clemson by 21+, Texas A&M wins the SEC and Clemson wins the ACC. Despite what happen to LSU and Alabama, they are still both losses. Then again maybe there's some crazy games with the at larges and the Gamecocks default in but 2 loss SEC teams will get preference.
Wade Manuel the Chairman of the CFB PLAYOFF said the comity loves S.C they ranked S.C in front of LSU. THAT LSU GAME IS WHAT GIVES US A CHANCE. WADE SAID THERES A LOT MORE GOES INTO THAT LSU GAME THEN HEAD TO HEAD RESULTS
Chaos would need to happen but if clemson and texas am win the acc and sec respectively and carolina beat both of them convincingly, one on the road, it would be a compelling argument to include them as they wluld have wins over two other playoff teams. I am not holding my breath and think 1% would be right for their chances, but its an argument that could be made
IF Carolina runs the table if the playoff committee leaves us out then....idk that would pretty scep. Also anyone/any team in a bowl game that is not in the playoff then teams won’t be the teams that we’ve seen all year. It happened last year. Carolina should have beat ND! We were the better team we were just missing KEY PLAYERS!
No, at least not this year. Play the way they did next year and we’ll be looking at an Indiana situation. Truthfully if lsu didn’t screw us then yes. We would be
Yo I'd say just give us Oregon. Because the Gamecocks would destroy them for sure just by winning the turnover battle and win the game 77-28 and that would be good. Go Gamecocks
A Strong Finish Enhances Everything!!! Well-outside of the Playoffs 🤷♂️ Recruiting Portal Trajectory of the Program!!! Love to See This TEAM Win Out!!!💯🔥 Spurs Up☝️ Go Gamecocks!!! 🏈🏆✅
Why would any good player, regardless of remaining eligibility, play in a bowl game? There’s nothing to gain for them, it’s all risk. I think you either play in a playoff game or season over.
The Ole MIss game was decided on one huge terrible move. The 4th down try inside your 30-yard line allowing Ole Miss an easy path to the first TD was a game changer. Idiotic move at best. That said....the rest of the season was good.
SC is literally 2 plays, one being the refs bad call, from being 10-1
Missed FG kick in the fourth against Bama
8-1 top 10 in the country
And if they had Mitch Jeter, the most accurate kicker in school history, they definitely beat Bama. Unfortunately Jeter went to Norte Dame as a 5th year Senior to pursue Grad School. The allstate playoff predictor has us at 14% right now and has us at a 47% chance if we win out so I'm not sure where the 1% is coming from
CBS had us at 1.6 on ig I believe where I saw it and with those chances you named SC is going to need a lot of teams to lose some
They just dropped us significantly. Down to 7% and
Well…
We’ve Blown Out 4 SEC Opponents and I’m gonna get ahead of myself and say we make it 5 come Saturday!!!

This Love for the B-10 and those 3 losses could be the difference 🤷♂️
Yet…
We blow out Mizzu
Get a 4 TD lead fairly quickly against Wofford and Rest the Starters and Still Add Points
Throttle Clemy in Their House and Who Knows 🤔

Colorado, gives us Colorado

A&M wasn’t a big win? They were 1st in SEC
All we can do is to finish strong and wish for some help from other teams and the committee
USC 34 Mizzou 7. Letssss goooo
If mizzou wins. Are we in the playoff picture?
Lets go mizzou
SC might be the best 6-3 of all time. Our defensive line is SCARY. I hope we get a chance to beat the Clemtards for a shot at the playoffs. He'll yeah
As a gamecock, much as it hurts me to say it - we ain't gettin in the playoff. A committe that thinks Penn State is the 4th best team record wise is clearly nuts.

@vehemon Yeah that's probably going to need to happen
An unbeaten Army team isn't better than a 3 loss SEC team. Sorry.
The SEC logo is keeping Carolina out of the CFP. Fight me about it.

I think Colorado would be a fun bowl game for Carolina to face.
Me too
me too, but Shedeur & TH wouldn’t be playing
Only way thats a “good” or “fun” matchup is if its in a playoff.
Never thought about that until now. Sanders mouth vs Gamecocks DL. I love it.

Can we talk about the slim but realistic possibility of an 8 way tie for 1st in the SEC?
I believe only 2 upsets would need to occur and those would be away games for the favored teams
All the 2 loss teams win out, Texas A&M loses to auburn, and Texas loses to A & M
No, at least not this year. Play the way they did next year and we’ll be looking at an Indiana situation. Truthfully if lsu didn’t screw us then yes. We would be

We were ROBBED in the LSU game!
Wake Up! The Gamecocks have arrived!
We are 6-3, not going to the playoffs. IMO
By the way go gamecocks!
Assuming we win out. Music city against a terrible Michigan team would be a slap in the face. Bear minimum should be citrus imho.
Could there be a world where A&M wins the SEC and Clemson wins the ACC both with losses to us. That HAS to put us in the conversation right?
Decent bowl game I bet
Let’s Go Tigers!!! I know REALLY TOUGH road game with a really good team on the rise. However NEVER SAY DIE 🖤💛🖤 MIZ🏈ZOU
We need some teams to lose n ole miss faked injuries the whole game
Guys of course the eye test matters, LSU has the win over SC and the committee put SC one spot ahead of LSU in the rankings. Duh
That mattered last year, Florida st and Georgia didn't make it
It would be 6 straight wins not 3 straight wins
If they had a good FG kicker they would also maybe be 7-2 even could have beaten Bama because you can call a play for the sideline instead a hailmary.
We didn’t need a Hailmary lanorris just made a bad decision
Gamecocks!!
I don't see how Indiana can be in playoffs. They are undefeated but have played no body so it can't be strength of schedule
Remember it's crowvember!
Indiana has yet to play a ranked team. They will get smacked by Ohio State. It’s a shame SEC teams don’t get such an easy schedule
Why would any good player, regardless of remaining eligibility, play in a bowl game? There’s nothing to gain for them, it’s all risk. I think you either play in a playoff game or season over.

the ole miss game was buzzsaw game. I think if Ole Miss beats Kentucky south Carolina beats ole miss instead of Kentucky.
You didn't have a chance against ole miss!
SOUTH CAROLINA is POISED to WIN the NFL SUPERBOWL. SOUTH CAROLINA is THE BEST team in the NFL AND FOOTBALL TEAM!
Wow! Now there's a Gamecock fan!
Here HERE!!!! 🫡🏈🐓❤️
Is this a joke? This is college not the nfl and there is no Super Bowl. Whatever you’re smoking I want some.
go gamecocks
The 4 unbeaten teams are trash and dont actually play anyone
South Carolina is 8-2
Huh?
What?
Lol. Ikr. That LSU game was ripped away
