@ This assumes all coaches are skilled and smart enough to execute such a task, given how quickly these things move. I can imagine that freak athleticism clouds the discussion all the time.
@@dj.sobxrbe Yes. I am a huge Buckeye fan, and something I heard Ryan Day say in an interview was how important the fit with the team is when they are searching the portal. I have been confused since the inception of the portal - and especially with the acquisition of Will Howard - why some teams are successful - and some are not. I know it's more organic than that, but you get what I mean. Cam Ward seems like a more able QB than Will Howard. He's insanely prolific, and will most likely be drafted earlier than Will Howard. I don't recall the timing of these two QB's and their recruitment - but I did read that they both received basically the same offers from their respective teams. If Ohio State had the ability to get Cam Ward rather than Will Howard, why wouldn't they? It's because Will Howard was a better fit for the team. Watching him play in the CFP - after struggling in many ways during the regular season tells me Ryan Day was seeing the bigger picture. Cam Ward was not a good fit for Miami. He was an athletic monster that they relied on too heavily. As Cam Ward went, so did Miami. Ohio State is not like this. Will Howard is a perfect fit and this is exhibited by the way the team succeeds without him needing to be extraordinary. Miami needed Cam Ward to be exceptional without a shadow of a doubt. This was too much to put on one guy - and the formula failed I'm betting this concept escapes a lot of coaches.
I'm glad we are finally playing the game the rest of the field has been playing under the table now that it's all legal, evening the field finally. At the same time I kind of miss the old days when student athletes were students first who were also athletes. I was a waitress in an Ann Arbor restaurant where Bo Shembechler was talking to a prospective recruit about the scholastic requirements at UofM to go to class and maintain their grades if they wanted to play because they were students who played football, not football players at the school. I think we have lost something here, but I'm glad that the boys will get to share in the revenues they are bringing in to the school. Wish the pure pay for play instead of actual, real value-based NIL payments was not the way this was going. Everyone should be able to get paid for the use of their Name, Image and Likeness, period. But paying a kid out of high school having never played a down at the collegiate level millions of dollars just to come seems a little crazy. Go Blue!
I love that we have TY coming in, he's going to make our Oline super solid. And I believe we have the inside track with the two CB from Ohio. Go Blue 💙💪🏾
Ohio State 32 - ND 13 OSU has faced in the playoff 3 excellent defense and 2 very good offense and 1 solid offense. ND has faced 3 solid defense in playoffs. And 3 below average offense.. Indiana. Georgia with a deer in head light QB.. and finally Drew Allar. So in summary OSU would now face 4th consecutive team in the playoff that’s either solid or elite defense. But a subpar offense in ND.. so the prior teams all suffered double digits loss. I don’t see this game being close due to this. ND can not score and they are too one dimensional..
F OSU. ND needs to win. Last championship was my birth year 1988. My late uncle was a ND fan, go win it. Also, Michigan is coming for you OSU, even if you win Monday, we look forward to our 5th straight win.
You’re such a weak hater , and Michigan got blessed not to be blown out like the playoff teams that they wouldn’t have a shot at winning . Ohio state is built like the sec teams , you pukes are pretenders who live in Ohio states shadow of dominance . Got your asses kicked for 20 years and now you think you deserve a seat at the elite table , keep dreaming
Michigan seems to keep winning the recruiting battles that everyone knows are all about money. The Oracle CEO will keep writing 8 figure checks to kids to keep his wife happy.
You wouldn't do that for your young, beautiful wife if the money was a drop in the bucket for you? And Michigan should buy every player they believe fits what they need. It's absurd to say "let my team have him bc we don't want to pay what you will" 🤷
ND better show up tonight
Come on Notre Dame win!
I think many teams are overlooking the team fit when they recruit kids with NIL.
I’m sure the coaches wouldn’t push so hard if it was a bad fit.

you mean like they do when they recruit?
can they both loose?
I appreciate this sentiment. I hate Ohio State, and if I was a fan of another school, I'd hate Michigan too.
Are you ND? I’m so confused rn
i hate both OSU and ND. - So i want them boih to loose.
