haha the trick is to take inspiration from one part of a pros play, not try and copy the whole picture 😉 - hence I add infestors every game where he skips them entirely
For the one person interested Sforzando is a musical term, and it means "with force" - often used suddenly, as opposed a crescendo which takes time building force.
Very insightfull, Pig! I love the intro when you show the cinematic, it was an instant like on the video for me! Ultra`s has always been one of my favourite units! Really cool to watch content where you focus on a specific unit!
Just starting to watch, but I still remember when Stephano (or at least that's where I saw it first) actually started using Ultralisks regularly. You know, those old ones which still had bonus damage vs armored. They weren't very popular to say the least :D
"A permanent, uncontrollable stiffy" Bruh you can just say that, i choked on my bong rip and blew my water out the front! LMAO! Thank you for showing us this replay, I'm gonna add this to the arsenal I think.
I’ve been destroying enemy Zergs with my ultralisk rush. As long as I can keep their roaches busy with constant annoying zerglings runbying their 3rds, the Ultras then proceed to just run over their roaches (or god forbid, lingbling) and then beeline straight for the enemy base before they can mount a proper response. It’s not like Zerg have any kind of easy build hard counter to ultras like immortals, tanks or liberators either. If they happen to have lurkers? A few blinding clouds will render them null and void! (I’ll have hive tech anyways…)
heck yeah, Ultras are god tier in ZvZ if you can make it to them. As you point out the viper blinding cloud addition means unless they get a massive amount of well spread lurkers ultras will still overwhelm
This is a thicc units only strat, roaches ravagers infestors queens ultras, it’s so glorious and easy to remember: if you’re not building thicc units then just build more of them
I don't know why zergs turned away from infestors and fungal. It was nerfed compared to WoL where it was OP (fungal now a missile instead of instant, slows rather than freezes units) but it's still really good. It always stopped medivac pickups, it made banes 100 times more effective because the marines couldn't stim and run off, etc. It was like "Well it's not totally OP any more so we just won't use it at all".
because you cast one fungal and now you have a useless unit. Or you don't and it just dies. Ghosts can still shoot with no energy and templar can morph into archons
Everytime I did extractor tricks in NA and EU cups and somebody was streaming it, they always said I was old and used wol tactics lol(they were party right I might add) . Well not that I invented such a build as Serral but it is still funny 🤣👍 I have seen more zergs using it as of late with both Scarlett and Dark going full neo starcraft haha
I suggest doing a challenge its 5 ultralisks in 5 minutes, meaning you have to have them stewing in the eggs. This way you can understand timings of the buildings to some intuitive ease, I posted this as a challenge to Uthermal in my endless nonsense rants. SO... it is possible. I thin yo uahve about 24 seconds of movement, and it takes some microing of the system and timings and upgrades. The main thing is getting fast lair and hive. Microing back and forth, and producing workers and not producing workers and saving money... to tech, If you want a 7-8 minute, tripple hatch is fine into roaches... its pretty easyot max with roaches by 8 minutes if you haven't had any super losses. If its 4.. just have ot save your vespene, but if you know a player is bio "based" then early utlras punish them, so hard, early bio and tanks , so much of their dps is consumed into the ultras. so often works as a win win, its like a z verse z and you ahve to defend spine crawler rush with spine crawlers.. kind of have ot mirror them because the hp pool is too high for what you can produce early as a zerg.. and you will end up losing all your mobile attack units while tehy flood in with theres.
sfoRzanDo sounds like "esforzando" in Spanish. Which is the "gerundio" (like present continuous verbal time) for "esforzar" = to make an effort. I'd say it's like "maKin'n_effoRt".
How does this stay safe vs a 2-1-1 opener? In your example game, you just hold vs a 3 rax stim push, but a 2-1-1 would hit earlier, and you're only overseer scouting around 5:00.
I'm around d3 with zerg and I make them to beat carriers. I mean.. with +3 carapace they just laugh at carriers while it guts them. For best results, don't wait to make ultras until you see 12 carriers. Make corruptors ffs. Then if you don't die after the first trade make like 3 ultras and a-move them at a base. *DISCLAIMER* This requires TWO control groups :p
Quiet, you. I need people to keep thinking Ultras are bad. I don't need them nerfed now. It would also be less cool to use them if most other zergs were using them too. That would make my opponents more likely to counter them. Regarding baneling nerf, I honestly can't even tell the difference at my level (D3). They seem about as good as ever. Maybe it sucks in leagues where people can consistently locate their keyboard though, glad I will never get there.
5:00-6:00, lakcing macro control, and checks, I suggest listening ot music to keep a beat timing. Third hatchery doesn't need ot be full, but you have too many minerals for to long. In a minute, a drone can pay for itself, meaning, that because you have, 140 minerals plus for over a minute, it means you missed out on getting that money, back which is from some indecisviness... If you don't know what to build. Build a drone..., then build a drone... then build a drone, if you need a specific ammoutn hover that ammount ,but if you know your income, then you cna gauge your timing intutively better, meaing stop thinking so mechanically and play the game wit ha general goal in mind, too much cloud is in the head, not enough, just simpel part of the game, production managemetn game, so thats all yo uavhe to do is manage and have a goal. Mineral saturation gas saturation. need like 1200 gas. If you know your gas per minute, you can weave in roaches. I probably would go, Roach roach, drone, roach roach drone. Howev, eri f you ahve vision and your enemy is terran and they are not going ot push you do a mass drone push, and larva... and even better is sometimes you make a macro hatch to pus hout larva faster, which is realyl useful.. 300 minuerals is nothing since your drones can pay it back if they work harder, but tpyically you jsut expand, unless you know somethign is about, or your behind slightly a macro hatch can really save the day, IE your expands keep dieing will effect larva pool total. So macro hatch is needed. YOur Ravager morph was out of place with your army. Meaning there was no reason to move forward at that point, it was a little hick up and didn't weave in ravagers at a moment, meaning if you had a few... the marines would get stuck out in teh choke point, Also I hate that you hid you evo out back, it can screw you over with terran, its okay to put it forward and make choke points against terran... Losing a upgrade timing is terrible, but if the evo allows you to trade out better and keep more units alive, typically worth it, as the dps at taht moment scales higher and yo9u cna jsut research it again.... depedning on lots of things... the queens were a little un micro'd and the creep spread wasn't that good.. If you suck at creep spread, if you do this build micro your overlords to poop out creep, even from their towers. THen move your queens further into the creep to lay tumours you will get more coverage faster of an area... thats if yo ucan sacrfice that kind of apm. so again... 7:07... - 12 drones worth taht can pay for themselves in about a minute, if made and working... wit hte ammoutn of minerals. The gas is no where near enough for ultras... so... if I was saving for mutas or ultras, I would have a gas goal... judging by the mineral income, I would the nstart saving so the gas goal and mineral goal hit about the same time, and then bam as zerg... making babies... Just annoys me seeing any large volume of minerals with no purpose in teh early game... Yes zerg can react wit hteh moeny to an instant defence, but shoudl still always be producing a drone... bulwark of the whole zerg system, of buildings and what not... hmm
Please can someone explain me about mineral stacking?is it still need to do nowadays?i'm just completely beginner .in pig's old video i saw him saying that to do , so please
You get slightly better income if you stack two workers on each mineral patch. More if you prioritise the patches that are slightly closer to the base. Sometimes they naturally sit with three workers on a patch, or bounce around between patches, which is less efficient. However, it takes APM, so unless you're a god you'll probably do more damage trying to do it on anything after the first base. There are plenty of GM players that don't do it, so absolutely not necessary. If you find it interesting, then do it, but make sure you aren't delaying other actions.
Same thing as the terran player who blind tp's his first bc into 3 queens and a spore and doesn't notice until it's dead, right? No unit is perfect outside of a vacuum, and melee units require more setup than most?
The ultra is slow, expensive and gets twoshotted by ghosts. That Serral can use it like this, doesn´t mean that a normal human beign can use it in ladder.
4 Snipes from ghosts. Ghosts are a lategame unit, and if they take any damage during snipe it gets cancelled. Most players below pro level struggle to use ghosts effectively. Add to this the fact that the whole point of the build is to rush ultras well before the enemy has ghosts out
Terran one shots it. Too expensive for a one shot unit. Its only good as a surprise. prefer brood lords or swarm hosts. At least i can get to the ghost.
Never once in my life have I been rewarded for thinking "Well, Serral pulled it off." Not with build orders, not with that hat, never.
haha the trick is to take inspiration from one part of a pros play, not try and copy the whole picture 😉 - hence I add infestors every game where he skips them entirely
