I feel like the splitting is more like turning a zergling into a baneling, or evolving anything in sc2, which is still 1 at time (but you CAN hold it at least)
Regarding brute splitting, you can just press and hold Z, and after a short delay, they should split in rapid succession. Still not as fast as all if them splitting at once, but its better than pressing it for each brute
Honestly the most fun I had watching pro play was the Tasteless Stormgate tournament where you could see the meta and balance shift hour by hour. Strategies that seemed impossible to beat when you first saw it, would be countered completely by the time the next matches started. All the pro players there were so creative and inventive and found such weird cheeses and cheese defenses and counter-cheeses, and even the macro matches felt like they would find a new way to play every couple of games.
@@DxKShifty Anyone saying the game looks bad is smoking crack. It looks good. Not all the elements are finished so you can see some things that aren't done yet like unit portraits, but many of the models are absolutely amazing. Vulcans and Weavers in particular look great. Besides, a next gen RTS I think doesn't mean graphics are improved, I think it means the things that make RTS great like unit repsonsiveness, being improved and on that front they're undeniably better than anything else right now. The game feels silky smooth to play. None of the AoE4 things where units take forever to respond when you issue them a command or they move all over derping out constantly instead of moving where you want them specifically.

6:49 - That was done intentionally because pro players would accidentaly split all of their brutes in earlier versions when it worked like that. Nothing feels quite so bad as destroying all of your units because your pressed Z by accident.
I just hate how much health everything has. That run by at 11:15 looked liked a good play, you got right into the mineral line and surrounded workers but were only able to kill one. One worker kill for the cost of sacrificing 9 Brutes
it looked like a good play because you're used to starcraft units melting anything they touch. i think the "look away for 2 seconds and you're dead" aspect of sc2 is something they are deliberately avoiding.
There's better ways to kill workers if that's your goal. Spriggans, gaunts drops with infest and magmadon drops are much better for Infernas. For Vanguard hornets and atlas drops can destroy a luminite line. Oh and also he barely even attacked the workers, he pulled off of them immediately then stuck in the corner as exos came to defend. It could've gotten more kills. That said, I think it's GREAT that you can't destroy all the workers in 2 seconds like you can in SC2 with widow mines. Who in their right mines thinks Widow mine drops are good and balanced and fun?
@@davidbodor1762 I don’t think killing workers should require higher tier units, just my opinion. Making the game friendly to new players is good but they took it too far
@@DxKShifty It's not required, it's just required to do it really fast. Fiends CAN kill workers fast, uThermal just pulled them back too quick, also there was a turret defending the luminite line anyways.
For those that still play RTS games (or want to get into them) give SG an honest go and PLAY the game. 9/10 SC2 - Fantastic but . . . higher stress to play and is very punishing SG - PURE JOY. I played SC2 for 10 years (D1), been playing SG since the alpha, while there are some fixes needed - I've never been more excited about queuing 1v1 (loss or win I have FUN )
I'm glad you're enjoying it, but 9/10 is insane. It looks horrible, the campaign theyve released so far is incredibly dull, and it's even less exciting to watch...
@@iananddani yea fair enough - I imagine FG's primary target audience (right now for EA) are players. But hopefully with a year worth of development - SG will be worthy of watching for those that just want some entertainment. That's how genres (and sub-genres) are created. FPS genre used to be know as "Doom clones". And what about rogue-likes? Souls-likes? etc. Why wouldn't SC2 be equally influential?
I appreciate the commentary and the gameplay.

It used to split all of them, but pro players accidentally pressed it and deleted their armies by mistake so it got changed.
Honestly, looks like a fun game. Just some UI and visual issue. Balance is wonky but, but RTS games never launch initally with perfect balance.

@davidbodor1762 that's the fun part about a new RTS and one that is in this state. The limitations and optimal strategies/counters just aren't known.

I wonder if you can drop micro the asmodans with their range
What is an Asthma Van?
Thermy can you not shift-Z to split all brutes in a control group? Haven't played SG yet but seems like something you should be able to do
Have any pro players accidentally blown all their banelings up in SC2? I am sure it happened at least once.
its kind of crazy that a brand new game got worst graphic than sc2
why do people care about graphics in a 1v1 game, its about stomping your opponent into the ground
