I have the Squirt P4. I buy a lot of used motorcycles, and it was stuck to a frame with a magnet, under the seat of one of them. I keep it on me all the time.
Awesome review Gary, I managed to snag an og leatherman from 1995 b.n.i.b and so far its proven its worth many times! Love my victornox and leatherman, so well made and so helpful!
wow !! from 1995 thats basically a relic! haha. i heard the older ones were better quality which is cool. agreed they are a super well made. you can def feel the quality!
I own both and I like both but I do favor the Micra. The Micra's tools seem to be more robust and the scissors are outstanding. Both models have knife blades with a single bevel. At first I had my doubts but they hold a scary sharp edge. Good review!
totally agree ! the micra feels way more solid in the hand for sure , i think its to do with the square design and slightly bigger! haha yes they are surprisingly sharp, great tools cheers !
Great review 👍 I snapped the pliers twice on my p4, they're good but slightly brittle. Beware they'll snap if you twist or try to crush anything too hard Leatherman lifetime warranty is awesome though and they replaced with a Micra when p4 was discontinued. I like being able to close the tool with the blade out. P4 blade got my fingers a couple of times. Miss the small sharp pliers though and haven't found any tool to replace them
cheers mate ! wow i didn’t know that about the pliers, i will be careful with them thanks. yeah i heard their warranty is awesome , glad you were happy with the micra ! its a great tool i think. would be cool if they made the micra with pliers , would buy 👍
I have a Leatherman Juice C2 and its larger than these but also has bigger pliers. The Juice as a full 3 dimensional phillips driver and 3 sizes of flat head screwdrivers. it also has a corkscrew which you can use to untie ropes and many other uses besides opening wine bottles.
@@garysprojects Yeah they have a springbar for the scissors I believe. The SuperTool 300 is just an overall beast though and I love mine. Heavy, but also does the job of many tools well. For a multitool, at least.
I owned both of them, but the TSA took them away from me at the Airport some time ago. I think the Squirt's toolset is better for me, but the fastener on the Squirt is rivette, and the Micra uses a Leatherman proprietary fastener, which is sturdier as my Supertool 200 purchased in 2004 uses the same Leatherman proprietary fastener and still roars!

@@garysprojects Yeah that would be perfect. My conspiracy theory is they had too many warranty claims and that's why it was discontinued

oh nice , ive seen those, seem pretty handy ti have
@@garysprojects If you can find a PS4 model, they are harder to find nowadays. They have scissors and pliers both.
i think ive read that the springs are prone to breaking (for the scissors) on the ps4 , but yeah probably good in a pinch!

@@HunterAtheist oh ya thats super good , the bigger tools are way better for actual working on stuff haha!
You should do one with bike a bike multi tool I’ve yet to find one that doesn’t explode in my hands.
@@RatherBeShredding i might be getting sent some stuff soon, stay posted. cheers !

ahhh damn that's such a shame! yeah I wish I could replace the rivets on the squirt!
So how good is it for bike repairs?
@@urabagofcells2228 i wouldnt repair a bike with these tools, better off getting a bike multi-tool
These didn't do it for me. It's either I get a larger Leatherman or a bigger Victorinox WorkChamp.
@@JogieGlenMait16 fair enough! if your using it a lot probably need something bigger. the workchamp looks good 👍
