  • Your video Guide to the summit of Mt Adams.
This is a quick review of hiking the south side route- Staying at Cold Springs Campground. Very challenging yet rewarding hike.
Footage was a little bumpier than I liked this time particularly due to the 25 mph gusts we had on this day, but I am trying to get better- Working on getting a stabilizer
    As always feedback appreciated.

Thanks for filming your glissading 'joy ride' -- no one else has posted a long ride like yours. Thanks for the detailed description of how hard it was --your video was so inspiring, I'm going to work on the strength and stamina of this 66 year old body and try for this one day, I hope!

If you go earlier in July there will still be lots of snow. When I climbed in July 2010, the snow was still down to the treeline and my group used crampons.
I've got Mt Adams on my list to climb again.

Good video. Summited it a few times, always enjoyable. Broken ankle climbing it last summer. Still fun and going back in 2 weeks.

Cool video. Would we need crampon and ice axe even in August for this hike, especially after this mild winter?

It has a certain level of difficulty but climbing is very interesting 👍

Crescent Glacier has lost 6% of its surface area from 1904 to 2006 3:07 . If that rate continues it will be completely gone in just 1700 years.

Dude, Don't express glissading as a "simple concern with and Ice ax" . If readers here do not know how to truly do a "self-arrest" with an Ice ax, both feet forward and be able to "turn around if upside down, head first and roll back over, the unexperienced can truly impale themself. I highly suggest learning first and practicing from someone that knows the technique. I've been an alpinist and "serious BIg wall climber for 50 years and still climb. I've seen stupid people do stupid stuff because they don't have the experience to know the literal pitfalls that can happen. Don't just be cautious, be smart and master your skill.
