The legit Le Male bottle has a 2016 batch, not too bad but what you want to aim for is the 1995 to 2009 batches. I miraculously found a 1998 batch Le Male in Montreal,Canada the other day, the seller had no idea what he had, nor did he know anything about fragrances, I only asked to see the bottom of the can because i collect the older cans lol, he didn’t question it lol, but as soon as I saw the batch code (DNU11 X ) and the green juice...i freaked out lol, I had been looking for a vintage le male for quite sometime now, I almost pulled the trigger on a 2012 batch, but was determined to find a early 2000´s batch or something but landed a 1998 instead! Should be arriving at my home today, will let you know how it smells and my thoughts.
Vintage version has a greenish colour to it and no gaultier stamp on the back from what i recall. Was probably added later to deal with all the fakes.

BPI updated the Le Male in 2006-2007 with multiple updates in one drop; Gaultier on the back, pump went from white to clear, they added their website on the bottom of the etched design, AND this is most likely when they dropped formulation #2- this is debatable but 2006-2007 the juice is distinct-fully less yellow than my 2005 batch. The bottle above is actually a decent fake, the red flag though is the atomizer, you can see the ripples under the nozzle are less sharp and rounded. Authentic's have a pointed look to the ripples.

I'm not entirely sure if this youtube channel was thought up, or is run by Steve or a was made by group effort. I want to thank you because you're youtube channel has helped me a lot. I'm not much a fashionable kind of guy and living in section 8 housing and working whenever and wherever I can makes it difficult to afford high end designer clothing. But my birthday had just passed and I had some money lying around that I could spend on what I like. So I decided to treat myself to something nice and spend it on cologne. I had just recently bought Versace Eros, Versace Pour Homme and Dolce & Gabbana - Dolce & Gabbana I believe it's called. I have not opened the Versace Pour Homme and the Dolce & Gabbana cologne. I have only opened and used the Versace Eros cologne. I have only used it three times briefly and have been already complimented all three times wearing it. All thanks to your youtube channel! Thank you much! You've got another fan! (literally the only reason why I bought the colognes is because of your youtube channel)
It should be mentioned that some of these factors do not apply to vintage bottles. For example, the original formula does not have Gaultier on the back, and instead has a sticker on the bottom with batch code information, etc.

Exactly! This video is BS there is so many different authentic versions of le male. Plus is he comparing the modern clear puig version to possibly an old bpi bottle? 25 years in production i find it hard to believe the bottles have remained the same.

My JPG Le Male bottles are ancient, from Christmas collections (Igloo, Christmas tree, Russian doll) and a couple of other special editions. None of them have a GAULTIER stamp on the bottle.

I purchased a bottle of Le Male a few years ago off eBay and immediately knew that is was fake. The bottle was actually the same color as an authentic. Came in the same can and all, but the scent was watered down with mostly alcohol, with just the faintest smell of the Le Male juice. The real Le Male would normally last 24 hrs on me (5 sprays), and the fake was gone within an hour (12+ sprays). Needless to say, I posted negative feedback and had a full refund through PayPal. These were the days when PP would instruct you to return the item and would even refund your return shipping.

I got a fake, but it actually had Gaultier on back of bottle, clearly printed info on bottom, except the website was spelled wrong. Crappy paint job, but atomizer looked the same. It came in a sealed tin, but no batch code or printed on bottom. Interestingly no website on the tin either. Things were just a little off. The scent was obviously fake.
Should bring this series back!

This is my favourite aftershave of all time. I've had a bottle of it since 2005 to this day until I got a Christmas one and straight away I knew it was a fake. I only could tell when I started using it as the smell wouldn't stay on me. For someone who's had this bottle for all those years I know exactly how strong the smell should be and how I can smell it on me or my clothing the next day. Its a shame because its just a waste of a gift

I have a real bottle probably from around 1999 time frame .. Got it from Macy’s or Nordstrom’s at the time. I never threw away the bottle .. It still has a tiny bit in it. And this bottle DOES NOT have GAULTIER embossed on the back, fyi.

I thought mine was fake. Thanks to this video I found out it was legitimate. BUT bottled in June of 2013 and It had a leaky spray top. Clearly it lost much of it's potency when shipped.

from wich year you have the real one, because the one i have is older than 15 years and the fake one colour is the old colour from le male only the white stripes are different. the real old bottle is in light turqoise looks greeny in the sun. so the greenish colour is from old productions. you can check it. The production after 2008 the bottles got more blue like. So now you're know how the real old bottles from le male looks like, take the real the white stripes and the colour of the fake, and then you have the real from colour how le male was 15 years ago. It is very weard for me to see the blue like colour from le male, because I have this bottle for so many year, that I thought the blue one was fake till you show the stripes.
It would be better for us if u educate us about perfume expiation & how can we determine fake/real perfume ???

Steven what are your thoughts on the frag bros/ Jeremy fragrance beef? tbh I don't mind Jeremy's watered-down approach to reviews but it seems to really bother daver. Tbh the best reviewer is you. I watch your vids when I want a better understanding of a fragrance from a trusted nose. I only watch Jeremy's videos to see which fragrances are popular with women and receive compliments. Which is something Jeremy has stated multiple times is the main focus of his channel. Anyway it would be interesting to hear how u feel about the whole thing

Have these fragrance companies change their Blends in the last 10 years or something? I was absolutely certain that the bottle that I bought on Amazon was a fake because the fragrance only lasts 10 minutes maximum.
According to your video the bottle I bought from Amazon is authentic.
No one in the Amazon comments were satisfied with their purchase and tge company was not issuing refunds.

Right. The metal cap is obviouslu of a lower quality than the left sides.
I guessed the wrong bottle even though I have one because older bottles look greener like that fake bottle. But it's apparent when you point out the inconsistent stripes and the back logo.
My husband had the fake one...OK smell. And it did came in a can like the original. in terms of longevity...it was very short.

When did you purchase your Le Male from Fragrancenet? Your batch code matches up to a production date of March, 2015.
I purchased my Le Male as part of a aftershave/cologne gift set from Fragrancenet in December of 2015, and my batch code/production date is March 2014. The longevity is excellent considering it was produced 21 months before I received it.
My one complaint is that it was sent in an unsealed gift box, and the box didn't even have an SKU code on it.

My Le Male 200 ml is more green and it lasts all day. Is from 2011. The newer one is more blue in colour and a lot weaker.
Except in this one the green one is fake didn't even have the logo on the back! :s

The new version is not worthy of a purchase. I smelt it in a few stores and was instantly turned off. I watched plenty of videos saying that the vintage formulation was so much better so I decided to take a risk and buy a vintage bottle from 2010 when keep in mind that I didn’t even like the current version in stores. Long story short the vintage bottle smells AMAZING!!! Far different and super sexyyyy!

Unfortunately i recently got the fake 75ml bottle from "notino". First i noticed the smell was different and then i watched your video. I'm not sure if "notino" is responsible for this,or maybe in my country they replace the fragrance when it arrives.

La Male is blue and not green unless they've changed it. Mind you, if they can replace Paul McCartney with faux Paul, they can replace a silly little bottle with another.
Legend has it that Linda McCartney is still weeping.
The vintage bottles under BPI until PUIG took over in 2016 were blue greenish. It became more blueish after circa 2011 I believe, definitly blueish since 2018.
mine looks like the fake one but instead have the engravex gueltier and has dark juice and last on my skin 8 hrs plus!

Check the batch code on checkfresh.net
It will tell you the date it was manufactured.
@@randaldominguez4139 Unfortunatly the old batches of JPG with the X at the end aren't supported by CheckFresh, I still have 4 authentic vintage Le Males, they are unused and one I use frequently, the same goes for my Le Male Terrible's the batches aren't supported to be calculated by the checker.
By the way your link tells me all my vintage JPG's that I bought in the perfumery are from 2019 but each a different month 😂

I personally came across two carbon copies of le male really i dont now how they do it but fragrances had ultra fakes before watches did they came in normal bottles yes but the scent there is pretty much no way someone could tell the difference 😂

I think that's why they added the "GAULTIER" stamp on the back of the bottles in the newer formulation bottles so people wouldn't confuse it with the fake ones.
