It makes me think of Clarissa Explains It All! The family dynamic isn't entirely accurate but it's close enough and the room is perfect plus with the trellis ladder and Addison walking over to visit Hillary, it makes me wish Sims could autonomously climb up and down into the window instead of being forced in or out by locked doors. Just imagining Addison popping over to casually pop his head up into the window and have a little chat after Hillary explains her current situation makes me chuckle. ☺😄
I think the reason that the kits are doing pretty well on your pack review survey is because those of us who don’t like them probably didn’t get them, and we had to skip the packs we don’t have. So the people that rated the kits already liked them enough to buy them. I’d say that’s true of the other packs too except kits are a case where a lot of people are against them entirely and that whole crowd won’t have a say in the survey.
I think also there wasn't a category for "worth the money" because while I like a lot of the kits when I examine what's in them, I still don't think they're worth the price. They should really go on sale and/or have like a bundle deal at the very least.

People who think $5 is too much might be more inclined to pay $4 each, while EA benefits by getting $8 from people who otherwise wouldn’t buy a single pack. They could even bundle only selected packs together, to make some extra cash off the kits that aren’t selling well anymore or which were never that popular.
Would be such a good idea to pair kits together that would kind of make sense to use together like grouping certain fashion kits or some of the build kits so people get what they want and it’s maybe $10 for three instead of $15 I would be much more inclined to buy. At that price point it would be the same as the stuff packs to be fair for a somewhat similar amount of content.
When Forest is a teen, will you add a sneak ladder to his balcony? I really like how the house came out, and I’m enjoying seeing you build for specific families! I think it’s pushing you to do different things and it’s really enjoyable to watch. I liked that Asher “second chance at love adopt a million kids” guy’s house Reno as well.
Finally something to pass the time while I’m at work … “working”. So happy you built Sydney and Ava a new house! They were definitely losing against Reginald in that Shack of a house 😂
I like to imagine Kev helped Sydney rebuild his house since Reginald is so invested in their rivalry and was starting to feel dejected that Sydney wasn't keeping up anymore. I like to think only Reginald cares about the rivalry and everyone is just indulging him lol
I actually love the idea that most of the exterior is not so much functional as "just there to look good" it's very fitting for this competition in a way
I really enjoy the changes in this LP, I mean I loved the rags to riches LPs in the past but this feels like the 2.0 version of that, we are interacting with the world and sims expanding the boundaries of the LP making houses and playing from other perspectives, it makes me get more curious about other sims and I like it way more when Bigwallets meet them, it's not just about money and getting to the next generation anymore. You are doing a great job James 😉.
I love how the support's house is -in my mind- way better than the main's 🤣. Just like how the storylines for supporting role in dramas are sometimes better than the main 👍👍👍
Had no intention of buying that clutter kit, but this is the most compelling video I've seen to make me want to buy it. Just a (fantastic) builder decorating a family home with Batuu flooring for the exterior.

With your survey - I’m not surprised kits are rated highly, because the people who were iffy on them, probably didn’t buy them, and the survey said only to rate packs/kits you own. I’d be interested in the percentage of survey respondents who actually rated the kits when you discuss how high they rated. So for instance if only 10% of survey respondents actually rated blooming rooms kit, but they rated it a 9 vs if 50% of respondents actually rated paranormal stuff and gave it an 8.

I didn't realize they needed it before, but I'm glad Sydney's family finally got an upgrade from their cramped little home. The makeup on Hillary's desk next to the computer makes me imagine she could be a makeup Simtuber, which makes her more fun of a character, imo. Addison may be a rich kid, but Hillary seems cool. It kinda reminds me of the "she's out of your league" trope, but with the guy being super mischievous. I'm excited to see how their relationship develops 😁
I never think to use those butterfly things on the walls. I need to use those more. Thinking about the windows; where I live a lot of houses seem to have different, cheaper, windows on the sides and back of the house. The sneak-out windows may be more realistic than people think! My parents have a corner fireplace and the chimney looks rectangular outside too. I love Hilary's room. I can totally see a group of girls having a slumber party in there. 😁

My honest opinion about kits is that they should always be collabs with modders/CC creators. It would be such a great way to "allow" console players to get some good CC. There's already so many CC packs, if EA could collab with these creators to make them an actual part of the game, it would be amazing. I feel like it's a cool opportunity they missed. Anyway, great build!

Much of the time, we generally think “high earning litigator” but sometimes lawyers are meager public prosecutors and don’t have the fancy marble floors and show piece furniture. It's so much fun watching each Sim family in the lets play get new homes, I like it best when you do play a bit with the Price family too, so we see how Sidney and Ava are doing too! I have downloaded this and rest of your builds, but now I want Reginald's and Kevin's new house too, lol! Also I too love the new Kits, the more clutter we can place in the house the more real it looks! And I love that thanks to Plumbella we now finally have a new carpet, and it's the best we've had, its in the Pastel Pop Kit, which Plumbella helped design! To me that's make it even more worth buying! I mean we have tons of wood and tile floors, as well as outdoor flooring, like a few of them actually look nearly the same, but with the carpet even the one's we've got look like someone painted the floor, because they don't have any textures to them, I mean the carpet in The Sims 2 had better texturing then what we have in TS4, I mean they looked like real carpet! It's nuts! Hopefully enough people will show how much they love getting better carpet, so we might actually get more carpet! I get tired of having to use rugs to make pretend it's carpet! I mean most houses I know of have carpet, most have carpet even on the stairs going upstairs, mine does! All wood floors seemed to mostly come from California, which is where everyone working on The Sims games are from! They can't seem to think of how things are outside California! And I am not knocking California, but we don't all live there, I mean what about people who live on the east cost and in the northern areas of the US, I mean if we are going to make everything by how houses and things are made just in the US, then maybe include more then the southwest area of the US!

This is based on my comment from your last video, but - if you haven't already murdered the creepy teacher in a part to still to come out - could you renovate Rhys's new home to include like a torture dungeon (and then force creepy teacher to move in and be bitten by Greg ... and maybe give him a makeover with scars and raggety clothes thinking about it, if that's not too much trouble)? So you know, Angus and Nina think Rhys is just "our nice distant cousin Reginald Bigwallet", but actually it's his clone performing evil magical experiments about werewolfication on his progenitor's creepy high school teacher. There was a whole in thread discussion on appropriate punishment for the pervy teacher and some people really wanted to see him turn into the Bigwallet universe version of Nervous Subject. Because your fanbase are all really nice people, James. Really.
I like to think it was really Sidneys idea to make the house bigger and the part facing Reginalds place more interesting. It fits in with the 1-uping storyline quite well 😂

Looking forward to the survey results. Came close to skipping CAS and/or gameplay in some of the packs I own because I spend 75% of my time now playing sims 4 by building. 20% gameplay. And 5% in CAS. So the newer packs that I bought I don't even think I've played any of the gameplay or looked at the CAS. But I based some of that gameplay rating on Let's Play footage I've seen.
Good old James. If it's a modern house it'll be mostly white with some neutrals, if it's a classic house it'll be a pastel bomb :) I love your interior decorating, but you should challenge yourself and use some inspiration photos sometime.
I just had an idea for a new challenge! I don't know if its even doable but... The Rainbow Challenge! Start a new house with 7 sims and without cheats / plumbob lights get each of their emotional colours to reflect the rainbow at the same time. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Indigo is a purple-y colour, maybe it could be the possessed emotion? Just an idea :)
Did your survey, I own all packs but am a builder so I only buy for build mode. So I tried to be fair to that fact. Can't wait to see results. Ps love this build!
so glad they were able to get a new house. makes much more sense now. lol love the style but the lot does need to be a bit bigger. also, could you change Sydney's hair and give him a makeover. I think his hair would have grown longer over the years. maybe one of the longer dreadlocks or maybe he went corporate and cut them off.
Speaking of chairs, I’m currently working on a house in oasis springs, and I’m currently working on furnishings, and I’ve noticed the house is full of chairs! No activities or anything, just chairs and kitchen counters….
I just started playing my game after a while and I have the can't read toddlers to sleep if bed is against the wall, mean sims, and sims won't use the sink closest to them glitches. The last one is the worst for me since I have 9 sims in my household and they keep walking in on each other in the bathroom since they won't stay in the bathroom I told them to use. Anyway, I'm glad you updated their house and I would love to see you play as Sydney again so you can get him to a higher level in his career since he wants to earn as much as Reginald.
Nice build 👍 I really think that it's nicer to have a house tour from first person perspective at the end. It's a bit annoying how the FOV gets so distorted and weird but it's nice to see the rooms from sim-height and also if the game is unpaused and Sims are walking around the place :)

I just had an idea for a new challenge! I don't know if its even doable but... The Rainbow Challenge! Start a new house with 7 sims and without cheats / plumbob lights get each of their emotional colours to reflect the rainbow at the same time. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Indigo is a purple-y colour, maybe it could be the possessed emotion? Just an idea :)

Did your survey, I own all packs but am a builder so I only buy for build mode. So I tried to be fair to that fact. Can't wait to see results. Ps love this build!
so glad they were able to get a new house. makes much more sense now. lol love the style but the lot does need to be a bit bigger. also, could you change Sydney's hair and give him a makeover. I think his hair would have grown longer over the years. maybe one of the longer dreadlocks or maybe he went corporate and cut them off.

Speaking of chairs, I’m currently working on a house in oasis springs, and I’m currently working on furnishings, and I’ve noticed the house is full of chairs! No activities or anything, just chairs and kitchen counters….

I just started playing my game after a while and I have the can't read toddlers to sleep if bed is against the wall, mean sims, and sims won't use the sink closest to them glitches. The last one is the worst for me since I have 9 sims in my household and they keep walking in on each other in the bathroom since they won't stay in the bathroom I told them to use. Anyway, I'm glad you updated their house and I would love to see you play as Sydney again so you can get him to a higher level in his career since he wants to earn as much as Reginald.
Nice build 👍 I really think that it's nicer to have a house tour from first person perspective at the end. It's a bit annoying how the FOV gets so distorted and weird but it's nice to see the rooms from sim-height and also if the game is unpaused and Sims are walking around the place :)
