Hey thanks for watching. The air assist was from Etsy. Little expensive but way nicer than the 3d printed ones. Here’s the link. www.etsy.com/listing/952903198/ultimate-air-assist-brass-nozzle-for?ref=yr_purchases
Thanks for making a nice & simple video explaining the process! Did you say that the slate coaster was pre-treated / coated with anything? If you did, I missed it.
It was not. That is fresh right out of the package. I did see on a video from Samcraft that he uses Acetone to clean them but I didn’t find that necessary. Appreciate the view!
For my 5w output laser I use 4000mm per minute speed and 75% power. I’ve never done shells before. That sounds interesting. It may be difficult to do those with the changes in height though. Wish you the best.
Hey Oscar. There is no preparation on these. If you coat them with anything the condensation will bead off them instead absorbing. Some people wipe with mineral oil to clean beforehand or spray poly for a shine afterwards. Thanks for watching, hope the rest was helpful.
Hey there. First and foremost thanks for watching. I did not make the brass air assist. I purchased it off of Etsy from HannahJakubCreations. It was a little over $50 US but it’s phenomenal and imo worth every penny. I was running a 3d printed one for awhile and there is a vast difference between the two.
@@757woodworks i just got the D1 pro 10w and i can not get white like yours , its coming out like a golden colour and slowly wishing i never got it now as my 5w seems to be much better
@@robertdavison2650 have you done a power test? I think the golden color is running too hot if I remember correctly. I have a 36w machine now and I can still get the white with it.
Ah ok. If you’ve got a few tiles that you can waste id try starting with my settings and then adjust from there if you can’t figure out the power test. There is a very good xtool owners group on Facebook. They can probably lend an ear towards settings for slate and help with a power test as well.
Nice simple explanation thanks for sharing
Appreciate it Brian! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Nice video - thanks! Where did you get the brass air assist attachment? It looks like a great fit.

Hi, would you like to review the laser enclosure?
Sure. I’d have some questions but send me an email at jharris1984@gmail.com and we can discuss it further.
I’m trying to engrave shells and “they” say use the same setting as tile. What are all the settings you used?

@@757woodworks thanks. I heard that in your voiceover., wasn’t sure if there was more to it. I’ll give it a shot next week and let you know.
No mention on how are you prepared the Slates

Did you make that brass air assist yourself?

I hear about people upgrading the lens to a g8 on there laser. Do you know if it is possible with your? I have the same one.
I have not looked into that unfortunately. Sorry
is this 10 w or 20 w
This was the 5.5w. If you’re running the 10w I’d start with double the speed, and double again for the 20w as a start. Tweak it from there.
