My favorites are 1. Silent sticks - Would work well for practicing and for smaller venue gigs 2. Meinl ride cymbals - I'm a zildjian fan but man those rides sound incredible 3. Earthworks mics - Man! Those mics made your drum sound really lively! The fourth and final one would of course be the Pearl reference pure kit! When i first heard that kit from casey i was blown away by how they made those drums
Dude! I’ve loved DBO Academy so far. I’m usually on super late at night so sorry for blowing up the forum haha. I’m gonna have to look in to those silent sticks!
@@DrumBeatsOnline I love you. Wait, what? Lol just made it to the end of the video. Is that ride the one you played here in Fort Wayne? I was at that show. It was the last one I went to before covid became a thing. I miss those days haha.
I look forward to this video every year! Btw, I couldn't tell whether you were using the blue or the black cam on your eliminators. I personally prefer the red ones, I've used them for two years now.
I loved the 22” Pure Alloy Custom ride when I saw it at NAMM last year, also the Polyphonic ride is the cymbal I’ve wanted most for such a long time so I really hope I win the bad boy.
Just bought the Pearl Redline doubles as I had the single. Love that dark ride and once again I’ve been trying to decide on either the 20 or 22 inch of that Meinl. Can’t decide.
My favorite I’ve found is actually the Meinl polyphonic ride which I found through you! Cant wait to have more time with my kit so I can get some more DBO lessons done!! Happy new year Gabe!
@@DrumBeatsOnline No, not unique. Look at Drum Workshop's Ballad Snare or Tama's Duo Birch. Do a search for "snom drum" to find other custom and homemade examples.
Should look in to KBrakes. They just screw in to the bottom of your bass drum legs. They have over 100 stopping points so you drum literally can't slide. They also have attachments for tile. I've been using them for 7 years. Amazing product
They are honestly both amazing. The iron cobras are a little small and the beaters are lighter, the redline are evenly spaced on your kick head with medium weight versatile beaters. It's totally preference!
Honestly I don't know how to find a good quality of ride cymbals because I'm not that good one to play drums and I don't have a whole set of drum i have only snare, broken hi hat, 1crash, hi Tom without a rim and skin of that ground and also the floor Tom the same on my hi Tom and also my broken pedal😓 hope you can help me, "I really want to play drums but I can't afford any drum set or kit"
This was a fantastic video. I deal with both my bass drum and kick pedal sliding constantly so that first product will be great! Also, fingers crossed for that ride symbol 🤞
Great intro. That Pearl Utility has a gorgeous finish. You said Puff Daddy. I'm going to build those LED panels for my drum room. That Pearl kit is to die for. US participants... I would have gladly paid for shipping.
Yess number 1 is the best product of my 2020 too!!! I got one just over month ago. I broke my kick drum stock head just a few days ago and had to change it out😂😬
I really like the silent sticks. And of course your beautiful Pearl drum kit.🔥 Im a bit sad the giveaway is only for the U.S. Maybe next time its also possible for your european fans. Greetings from Germany and stay healthy 🙏🏻
Hey man what drum heads would you recommend? I just bought my first drum set(gretsch Catalina maple) and didn’t know what heads to buy. Also love hour vids
You should so an international giveaway... I am from India and I can't participate in it..😢😢😢😢😢.... But the end part of your drumming was excellent.........
Damn im really unlucky with these US Only giveaways. JK I wouldn't even play this ride if it's signed. It would be right next to me in my bed all the time so I get good sleep.
It's amazing how we are fooled by drums sounding different with blend of woods.. this is marketing everyone. It doesn't matter if you have different wood plies sandwiched or not, sound does not travel through glue that is used to construct these shells. The main factors in the sound of the drum are heads, depth, bearing edges and muffling, that's it. This has been proven and people still fall for this marketing used by big name drum companies
How so? It’s the same format as every year. It’s simply me sharing my favorite drum gear of the year without trying to sell anything at all as stated in the beginning of the video. On top of that I’m giving away a free cymbal that requires no posting, subscribing, or anything like that. Just simply signing up. So I don’t know what commercials you’re watching, but they sound pretty sweet if that’s what they are.
You're right, I got the concept wrong. My comment comes mostly out of that a lot of the things listed, are from Pearl or Mienl. The companies I know you have an endorsement with. But, of course when you have an endorsement, with these companies, the drum products that you have a bought, are of these brands. I got it mixed up with other videoes I have watched where the concept is to show you stuff, that they think you should buy, and a lot of your videoes, especially your Top 10 Best Drum Products of 2017, I have almost litteraly checked of everything to put on a wishlist. But, actually kind of great, that you are JUST sharing and not commercializing. My bad.
@@Viktor14485 Hey no worries, it's simply my intention to share with you some new things that I've discovered this year! Hope that it came off that way and ultimately hope you enjoyed it!

Is it harder to get a buzz roll with those silent sticks?
That floor Tom snare hybrid is rad, great video as always
I agree! Thank you!
Those silent sticks sound really cool. Hadn't heard of them before. Thanks Gabe!
I'm kind of a new drummer, but I'm definitely keeping this in my back pocket for when I start getting new gear
You played that cymbal when I saw you live!!!! Also that background looks so good!
So basically you can silent your whole kit with those products ngl haha
Yup!
The eliminator double pedals were my favorite product from 2020 got it in the midst of the pandemic it is the best gear I ever bought

my favourite ride cymbal is chris coleman c2 ride but the only thing is that, that ride cymbal on its own is as expensive as my kit
Travis Barker Signature Drumsticks those my go-to sticks
