    I have a 2005 Avalon bought brand new 18 years ago! The car is super reliable!! It does leak a little power steering fluid as mentioned by others but nothing to be concerned about. I did replace one of the front axles because of a severe pothole and I also recently replaced the water pump and serpentine belt. The car has 260,000 miles on it and drives great with so much power and very quiet. At idle it doesn’t shake or anything! Gonna keep her as long as she wants to run!! It’s a great car!

    Great buy! They have a rep of running 500,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. I bought one last year with 60,000 miles

    I sold my 2001 Toyota mini van and then bought a 2005 Avalon limited. It does have high mileage but except for minor repairs for a 18 year old I love it. I've owned the big 3 autos and always had problems. I'm sold on Toyota quality. Other than regular maintenance I've had very minor issues. I am a Toyota fan for life. My mechanic told me Avalons run forever.

    What a beautiful car! I have a 2006 Avalon Limited and they sure are beautiful! You are right about the features we think of cars only having now that this has 15 years ago! My one has Adaptive Cruise Control (this might have been an option on the limited) but it still drives like new and is really quick for what it is! In fact my parents are so impressed dad has gone out and got a 2020 Avalon Limited over a 2020 5 series for value :)

Driving a Lexus es350 2008 right now with 147k on it but still running like a top. That engine is bulletproof. Thanks so much for sharing your Avalon with us. Keep up the great content.

    09/30/2023 : I recently purchased a one owner, well maintained Avalon Limited w/107K on it. I really prefer this 3rd generation Avalon and dont really care for the new ones.
    A few more years this will become a classic car in PA.

    Own the same car, bought it as a second vehicle to my 2013 BMW 550i. I ended up selling the BMW and now use this exclusively as my daily and couldn’t be happier! Mine has navigation so no cassette stereo is better than on 550i, but doesn’t have the laser cruise. I wish mine had 31k miles (144k) but still runs phenomenal. I paid $5k for it!!! Car was so far ahead of its time! Engine is still smooth!!!!

    I have a 2007 Avalon Limited that I bought brand new. It’s insane how many features this car have for it’s time. I also own a BMW and an Infiniti but nothing like the Avalon on how loaded it is. For example, my BMW only have heated seats not cooled/heated like the Avalon. Infiniti’s smart key system allows you to lock/unlock only the front doors while the Avalon has it on all doors. Great car man 👍🏻. Enjoy it like I have been doing for the past 14 years 😃

    Just bought an 05 Touring with 304,000 miles. 2 owner car and the owner I bought it from owned for the past 13 years and it was meticulously maintained. Runs like a sewing machine. I would drive this car across country without any hesitation. I paid $1900 for it. I will try to million mile this car. Has a couple rust spots and a ding or 2 but still presentable. These are very underrated cars in my opinion.

    Nice wheels. My sister had the ‘03 Avalon but the head gasket blew at 105K miles. My 2010 Base Lexus ES 350 isn’t far off from the Avalon. Same engine but I think the only difference is the Lexus has more sound deadening insulation. What level of tint do u recommend & did u go high because you’re in the sunbelt?

    • @SEsGarage

      So I was contemplating making a video on that process, but it was so easy to do the video would’ve been less than a minute long haha. All you have to do is tilt your back seats forward. Pull both c pillar trim covers off. And lift up on the deck lid and it’ll come right out. Just reach under and unplug the third brake light bulb and it’s out

    Everyone talks about how great and reliable these cars are, but what I can't find out is how are these cars in the snow??? No one ever talks about the FWD Camry, Avalon, ES models and how they perform in the snow with all season tires. I would love your input on how this car performs in NJ's slippery wet and heavy snow that we get. Thanks!

    • @SEsGarage
      @SEsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Obviously a set of snow tires is going to give any vehicle an advantage! But I’d consider these to be on par with just about any other front wheel drive vehicle in the snow. The V6 powertrain sitting over the front wheels definitely helps with traction!

    Was that a 2-ohm or 4-ohm kicker subwoofer?

      I believe it was a 4 ohm dual voice coil that I wired to two ohms

    Is it a good idea to buy a one with over 200k miles but nothing is wrong with it?

    • @SEsGarage
      @SEsGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      These cars are VERY reliable and known to go 300K+ so I wouldn't hesitate, as long as it was well taken care of. Maintenance records, clean car fax. So on.

    I'm looking right now at a 2007 XLS with 31,600 on it... they're asking 9900.
    I bought one new in 1998. It was a great car... had only one issue: the windshield on the passenger side leaked after I had it a couple of years.
    I still have my 2005 Highlander - 224k right now, and it's running great - just needs a new cat converter.

    Illegal tint in many states. Ltd not XLS. Hmph. Clean Price ie everything. if you lose the key . How much??? If you buy a replacement in advance. Was the lady 90? Great enough deal if you get 2 years. Flip at same. Is this version engine Scotty Kilmer, approved. What other Service Problems. I guess my Camry is a starter, dependable and 1/3 the price. Yep I was right old lady died, sadly.

He originally wanted 5200...there was a issue with the passanger side door window and it was a few dings on it that he didn't show in pictures so I lowballed him to get me the price I was looking for.
