This marks the first appearance of fan favorite character Hondo Ohnaka. Who was made even more famous for being the "main character" of the Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run attraction at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.
Dooku’s main issues with the Jedi order and as to why he left the order are based greatly in believing that the Republic was becoming a corrupt political foundation, and was using the Jedi too heavily to enforce their matters. Dooku definitely wants true order in the galaxy, the same as Anakin, so I’ve always found their opposing dynamics to be a fun part of the show to watch.
Hondo is the most ignant a-hole with street smarts. He's like that dangerous friend you didn't mean to make, and now you don't want to show your house cus he's sketchy. But he's funny and charismatic and that makes him feel more slimy that he'd sell you for a drink. But by Star Wars Rebels he becomes...well I won't spoil it. But it's the kind of character development you can reasonably expect from a character like him. But it makes him lovably tragic in a way.
Hey, Imon! DOOKU CAPTURED: The first season was accompanied by a WEB COMIC prelude to each episode that set the stage for the story. They were all collected into a trade paperback. Even though Anakin's undercover mission to be captured without his lightsaber by Dooku was shown in the comic, the brief prologue using footage from the animated movie is sufficient explanation. The INTRODUCTION of Weequay pirate HONDO OHNAKA! You've seen Weequays before manning Jabba's skiffs in "Return of the Jedi". Instead of a parrot, Hondo's pet is a Kowakian monkey-lizard which you've seen in live-action as Jabba's pet in "Return of the Jedi". The design of the Weequay vessel is so odd in that it resembles a quaint, disc-like UFO almost as if the animators just threw up their hands and said, "Screw it, somebody's got to tool around in one of those!" Although GUNDARKS have been mentioned in "Attack of the Clones" and "The Empire Strikes Back", this is the first time they've been visualized! As they have four arms, there's an Edgar Rice Burroughs quality to their design. The planet VANQOR was the gray, rocky world with the gaseous cave. The planet FLORRUM was the semi-arid world with the boiling geysers. Notice that Palpatine is no hurry to claim Dooku for the Republic since his apprentice is his Separatist counterpart necessary for continuation of the war! I like how Hondo regales the Jedi with the daring capture of Dooku by his bold men when they're all slumped over the table like slovenly drunks. Your keen eyes caught Anakin and Kenobi Force-swapping their spiked drinks with their neighbors which is why the guy on either side of them passes out! Anakin's jalopy from Teth, the 'TWILIGHT', makes a return appearance in this episode.
I have enjoyed listening to your commentaries. Here is a fun fact: in the 1990s cartoon TaleSpin, Jim Cummings played Don Karnage, a somewhat wacky “air pirate” leader who used airplanes to commit crimes. The Clone Wars’s creators seem to have basically said, “hey, what if we brought Cummings back to play the same character but in space,” and this is how Hondo Ohnaka came to be.
Reasons why people think Separatists and Dooku are good (or just not evil) Dooku left the order because he knew the Jedi were a political tool. He wanted to change that. Create a new order independent of politicians. It is also worth saying that the master of Palpatine (Dart Plagueis) was afraid that Dooku would become the grand master of the order because of this. He wanted to dissolve the Republic. Politicians decided about the fate of other planets. When his home planet (Sereno) was plunged into civil war, the Jedi and politicians were deaf to pleas for help because they would have no benefit. The Republic and the Jedi during the war will commit many more war crimes, even leading to the extinction of some races. And finally, it's worth asking a question. Who started this war? Dooku wanted to negotiate. Obviously, he would lead to a conflict, but in this case, it was the Jedi who escalated and led to the Clone invasion on Geonosis. So they are peacekeepers or somethink much worst?
The Gundark, a creature first mentioned by Han Solo in The empire strikes back, makes its first on screen appearance. It was given big ears, based on Han's comment that Luke looked strong enough again "to pull the ears off a Gundark"
In the original script, the ship that Anakin and Obi-Wan discover in the hangar bay was a Sabaoth starfighter, a vessel from the 2002 Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter (2002) videogame.
The 2020 anthology book "Star Wars The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark" features a story titled "Dooku Captured", based on Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Dooku Captured (2009) and Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Gungan General (2009) that is told from Count Dooku's point of view. It is written by Lou Anders. The audio-book version is read by Clone Wars voice actor Corey Burton.
15:30 i guess people need to point out a villain so that they collectively reassure themselves not be one. It's a way of ignoring what human nature really is.
Villain…original definition…the owner of lands and leader of the village..,today….the evil one or the enemy. Remember…we don’t seek out villains…we create them in our mind for comfort over conflicts. As we evolve in time, we will learn, the more we strive to perceive the glories of this life, the more comrades we see, and the less we identify those comrades as enemies. Love thy enemy and nurture him…4 in the future, he may bee deemed a worthy allie! #props
The planet they were on is Vanqor. The moon in the last episode of Obi Wan Kenobi has yet to be identified. It’s not uncommon for Star Wars to jump into the middle of a story. Been doing it since the beginning
The first time I watched the episode it bothered me that three powerful Force wielders were captured so easily by a pirate, no matter how clever. Then I realized it showed how both Dooku and the Jedi Order were undone by their own arrogance later on because they were all manipulated by Palpatine.
I don't know if it's so much that we need a villain as we I have different Is levels of trust. Upon meeting someone we would not put out our hand if we expect the other person to slap it away. So if we do not trust then we ourseelves create the villain. This is the story of anikan
I mean sure... Dooku started from a good place but he's a Sith. Why would you trust anything he says? This is Star Wars, there are villains and truly evil characters. Not saying that Dooku is one of them but his goal is still to destroy the Jedi order, kill anyone that opposes him.
I get unreasonably hyped when clone wars is uploaded
Me too.
Yay :)
Same lol

Haha that's such a great explanation for his character!

Hondo Ohnaka. The best worst pirate in the Outer and Inner Rim. He won't touch the Core with a ten foot pole.

Hondo, the best pirate ever except for Jack Sparrow
He's like space Jack, love him 😆
Ah I see you’ve met the legendary Hondo. The universe just expanded a whole lot more.
The planet they were on is Vanqor. The moon in the last episode of Obi Wan Kenobi has yet to be identified.
It’s not uncommon for Star Wars to jump into the middle of a story. Been doing it since the beginning
You're going to love Tales of the Jedi
The first time I watched the episode it bothered me that three powerful Force wielders were captured so easily by a pirate, no matter how clever. Then I realized it showed how both Dooku and the Jedi Order were undone by their own arrogance later on because they were all manipulated by Palpatine.
The voice actor for Hondo is the same voice actor for Winnie the Pooh
you’re awesome great reaction as always
Your voice is super soothing lol 💜
When you're done with this show and rebels Watch tales of the jedi , plenty of dooku back story Will give you a new perspective of things
Enter the greatest character in all of Star Wars
12:41 I'd say that Dooku is evil now but not all the rest of the Seperatists are. They try to fight for sth good I would say.
Good episode love the video imon Nation stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
Might as well upload every episode all at once to feed us Clone Wars fiends. That way it doesn't conflict with your schedule... also feeds us fiends.

May you upload 2 -3 star wars the clone wars reaction video per week ?

I don’t know where you get your information but that is not Dooku’s goal and never was at any point. His goal was to destabilize the Republic.
