Bug/Normal is super easy. Just make a housefly 'mon! For Bug/Dragon, how about a twist on the classic "dragon keeps princess in tower"? A dragon that's an anthill/termite mound/beehive moved by the entire colony, with a tower-like back where the hive queen stays at the top, giving the "beast" orders (or relaying her trainer's)
I LOVE the idea of Normal type pokemon being inspired in the city, what we as humans consider "normal". Scrafty is probably one of my favourite pokemon, and it's based on street gangs which I find as such an amazing concept to make THAT into something so goofy and adorable
Scraggy is my favorite mon so I get where you are coming from. I love Normal types not always just being bland but just something we find commonly in the real world.
I think your graffiti idea for Faltir is actually pretty spot on. Grafaiai being normal/poison means that graffiti is a "normal type" concept and generally signs of humanity or civilization are shown as either normal (or sometimes poison) type.
i just have to say, i've never been so invested in watching a speed paint in literal years. the art is absolutely gorgeous, and even better to watch the process of. not to mention your voice is lovely and easy to listen to. great video 💕
You're accidentally correct; Dwarves ARE Faeries. J. R.R. Tolkien developed Dwarves based on Svartalfheimr, which created was broken up into two species as pop culture got ahold of them. So J. R.R. Tolkien made Dwarves, while Dark Elves were the other creation. Goblins are ALSO faeries/Fairies. So yeah, Dwarves are fairies, goblins are fairies, dark elves are fairies. They're Fae in the same sense that Elfs, Elves, Tuatha de Danaan, Fir Bolg, Red Caps, and Fomori. So there's a lot of things in european-celtic/germanic mythology that qualify as Fairies.
I love how faltir and mortir both have false face features that were painted on them, and while animals have the same camouflage tecnique embedded into them by design, these two got their by the hand of human, like it or not Take off yetuki's upper teeth and his mouth will be constantly confused with eyes lol
Obsollisc - the Ancient Pokémon An elderly guardian for many ancient temples, Obsollisc will attempt to scare away any invaders. Should this prove ineffective, it will use its large hands to simply remove them from the premises.
Stern: If I'm gonna make a Normal/Rock type, I'm gonna have to include a little bit of Normal into it, and that became kind of hard. Me: haha funny Ditto dinosaur! It's a Dittodocus! All jokes aside, Faltir's inspiration coming from humans disrespecting nature is great.
If you're curious about the rest of the type combos in the video, I covered most of them in my region! Ground/Fairy: not covered Ice/Poison: Shuffluenza (The Walking Plague Pokémon). Inspiration comes from zombie viruses trapped in permafrost for over 40,000 years rising from the ice and potentially starting a new pandemic. Thankfully the disease Shuffluenza spreads is easily treatable, and it's not the fastest thing in the world, making it easy to avoid. Rock/Ghost: Billobufo (The Cavernous Pokémon), inspired by the Beelzebufo frog and Daily Dose Of Internet video "Rocks That Can Breathe"! It absorbs the souls of people and Pokémon that died in the ocean, and traps them in its hollow body. These souls make a ghastly breathing sound as they pass through the many holes on its throat and back, longing for an escape that is less likely than a Dunsparce evolving into a Dragon type. Rock/Normal: Dittodocus (The Old Trick Pokémon). This is just Ditto's face slapped onto a sauropod. A complete Jokémon that came into existence because I'm usually pretty bad at making rock types and fossil Pokémon. It can still transform like it's descendant, but not very well, being unable to copy faces properly, change into the correct size of its target (it's over 8 feet tall), or copy their stat changes. Dittodocus has much higher HP to compensate, and can also choose to not transform at all and battle like a regular Pokémon. Normal/Ice: not covered Fairy/Fire: Vacacian Ninetales. This new regional form started showing up after the Pokédex tale of Ninetales inflicting a 1,000 year curse was completely debunked by scientists. As a result, people were no longer afraid of Ninetales, and started showering it with love instead. This new form has a much fluffier coat and a very kindhearted disposition, and can often be found working as a support Pokémon for people with disabilities and mental health issues. It's fur can also be customized into many different styles, though it's super expensive. You can get an unlimited pass to style it for free as a gift by defeating the 4th gym leader.
Mortir is GREAT! it's literally the poke'mon Brick Break was made for ☠️ I can imagine it having symbiotic relationships with Urban Smeargle. The smeargle paint faces on them to grant them intimidate ability and the Mortir protect them.
I still want a steel/poison with Levitate, Fireproof or Flash Fire, even if it's not a good pokemon, it's just something I've always thought it would be cool
You want entries? I got you some entries. XD Humdrum, the Demolition Pokemon, Humdrum spend all day breaking through soil and stone to increase durability of their claws. A single Humdrum is capable of breaking through solid stone when given the chance. Mollover, the Demolition Pokemon, Mollover spend much of their time underground, digging through the toughest materials underneath the earth. It is said that the dirtier a Mollover claws are, the deeper into the earth it has drilled through. Skalug, the Toxic Skin Pokemon, An ancient Pokemon that has lived in ancient frozen regions, Skalug's frail body belies the deadly venom it can excrete through its claws and tail. Trainers should give this Pokemon a wide berth as ill prepared Trainer (and Pokemon) can fall deathly ill from a Skalug's poison. Obsollisc. the Ancient Pokemon, Said to hold many secrets within, Obsollisc are said to be ancient stones that have been possessed by the spirits of an ancient civilization. It is said that any who dare try to learn its secrets will be cursed to forever wander a shadowy realm. Faltir, the Pummel Stone Pokemon, Faltir prefer to live quiet lives away from anyone as many Fighting type Pokemon, such as Sawk and Throh, use these Pokemon as training dummies. Some Pokemon, such as Smeargle, also use these Pokemon as canvas, though Faltir are not known to be angry about being painted on. Mortir, the Pummel Stone Pokemon, Faltir that have evolved into Mortir are now quite proud of their defenses as they are capable of dishing out just as much punishment as they took as a Faltir. Mortir were once well known as guards for ancient castles due to their tough exteriors. Yetuki, the Snow Pokemon, Yetuki are quite territorial and are known to take over snowy mountains for their own, driving many Pokemon out. Yetuki will drive off any intruder by causing avalanches and throwing large snowballs at anyone they perceive as a threat. Wispin, the Wish Flame Pokemon, Said to be born to those who prayed before a flame, Wispin are quite charming and strive to aid others with their flames. Wispin were once believed to be born from those seeking shelters from cold or snowy nights. Djinnferno, the Wish Flame Pokemon, A powerful Pokemon said to grant whatever wish its trainer commands it to do. A large Djinnferno was once found and tamed by a young man who went on to marry a princess from a distant land.
I feel like Humdrum and Mollover being inspired by dwarves could have an ability to match, like when I think of dwarves I think about how they are known for working with metals to forge tools and weapons. So it could have Dhelmise's signature ability Steelworker which would give it STAB on steel moves. or maybe that's it hidden ability and since it is meant to be a common ancestor to Diglet and Diggersby it could have one ability from each. Like it's standard abilities could be Sand Veil and Pickup while its hidden ability could be Steelworker. Honestly I could see these being pretty good abilities that if paired with the right move sets and item could even make them competitive powerhouses. Skalug could have Poison Point to help so the whole poisonous to the touch thing and the way you drew it mouth I can honestly also see it get Strong Jaw, though I can't think of a good hidden ability. Though I guess it could make one of these as its hidden ability. Or it could get Refrigerate as a hidden ability to turn all normal moves into Ice to ensure that if it uses an Ice, Poison, or Normal move it is technically getting STAB from it. Obsollisc could have Cursed Body and Filter since you said it is meant to ward off ghost I imagine it as a something that originally used Filter to lessen its weakness to ghost to help ward off ghost but eventually over time became somewhat cursed in one way or another by the time you the player get to met them. As for hidden ability it could have Illusion or Infiltrator or maybe even both. Illusion because it could use it ghostly power to make an illusion of it being a different pokemon to trick you into attacking it with a move that wouldn't be very effective while its ghostly powers could use Infiltrator to phase through the enemy's defenses to deal more damage. Honestly for Faltir, it having paint on it makes me think it will either have access to the move Sketch or be in relationship with Smeargle that is more like Zangoose and Seviper. As for abilities the first is the obvious Rock Head, but it could also have Anger Point since the paint is purposely made to look like he is pissed all of the time. As for a hidden ability I'm tempted to say Color Change for the graffiti aspect but it isn't really putting the paint on itself so maybe not. So an odd choice that I think works could be Damp as you said he is based on river rocks which if freshly taken out of the water would be wet or damp. Though for when it evolves into Mortir it would be interesting to swap Damp for Flame Body referencing how bricks are made out of fired clay. Would it evolve let onix where you trade it while holding the metal coat. For Yetuki immediately I want to say Ice Body, but that might work better as a hidden ability as for a standard ability I feel Fur Coat and Thick Fat lend themselves to this design so much, though since pokemon can have two hidden abilities I would say Ice Body and Refrigerate. Willow of the wisp tends to be more of a ghost and fire type to me but honestly works just as well if not better as fire and fairy. For abilities Wispin could have the standard abilities of Flame Body because duh...but it could also have Wandering Spirit since Wisps are Spirits that help guide people who get lost wandering around in the woods. Though for hidden ability I'm thinking maybe Vital Spirit since it looks like a spirit with a lot of energy that would prevent it from being put to sleep. Though as it evolves into Djinnferno I could see it swapping either Wandering Spirit or Vital Spirit for Prankster as djinn are often times being depicted as tricksters twisting the words of the wish into something the wish maker never wanted while still being what they asked for when their words are twisted. I'd probably say swap Vital Spirit for Prankster. And I can see Wispin evolving into Djinnferno by leveling up while knowing the move wish. If I was to make a team with them it would be Mollover, Skalug, Obsollisc, Mortir, Djinnferno, and probably a second Djinnferno or a Obsollisc. Though need more time to give them good items and moves sets. Sorry if this comment was long but the fakemon were so cool and I was able to give them decent ability ideas that weren't too over powered.
Yo imagine if Faltir had a split evolution, one if you scrub off his tags and one if you dont! I imagine maybe the scrubbed one might change into a Water Rock type, and end up with maybe some algae growing on it?? As if you had washed the stones and returned them to the river basically
Some thoughts on the combos you didn't get to: Normal always struck me as the "mammal" type (not entirely but in general). Like, we have flying for birds, bug for invertebrates, water for fish, etc. Plus, a lot of normal dual types are usually "mammal with features of the second type" like Pyroar is "lion but on fire" or Sawsbuck is "deer with tree antlers" or Girafarig is "giraffe that knows what you did last summer." Following that line of thinking, perhaps the Normal/Bug and Normal/Steel pokemon can be "mammal but with bug features" and "mammal but with plate armor" or something like that? For example, for Normal/Bug you could do a really fuzzy caterpillar that evolves into an equally fuzzy butterfly? That's more "bug with mammal features" but its still a combo of the two. And for Normal/Steel you could do like an armadillo or pangolin? Or even like a folklore animal that wears armor? As for Bug/Dragon, my first thought was like a hive of small dragons. They're obviously dragons, but they have very bug-like behavior in that they make hives and follow a "queen," like ants or bees. And they could be like Wishiwashi or Falinx in that they're multiple individuals making up one Pokemon.
Some of these types would be good as the base level of a Pokémon and then changes their types when they Evo, like with Skorupi or Surskit. I could even see normal/bug leading to normal/steel as a mammal that uses bug carapaces as protection but then gains it's own armour after evolving (maybe by forging it or hardening the carapaces).
I've been bringing up the Ramidreju from Spanish lore as a Missed Opportunity in Paldea a few times, maybe even here every now and then, and in some some discussion the possibility of a Pokemon based on it I've gotten kind into liking it being the Fairy/Ground-type to emphasize its mystical abilities and the fact the Ramidreju is described as the ability to sense and dig up gold. I recommend you look into it, especially if this is one of the first times you've heard of it. Some other missed opportunities for Pokemon, in my opinion, would be a Pokemon based on the Questing Beast for Galar (seeing as Galar is based on Great Britain and the Questing Beast is from Arthurian lore, it could be interesting to see it show up in Galar at some point, but I'm not quite sure what to make of its Typing as of yet), and the Tarrasque for Kalos (for various reasons, most of which line up nicely with Kalos thematically in a few different ways). I'll get a bit more in detail about those, if you want me to elaborate, but I'm just gonna leave what I have here for now.
I'm going to throw out the idea that I've had for a bug dragon type for a long time. Basement off of a Chinese dragon. There's a real type of caterpillar called the dragon's head. But instead of having it evolved into a butterfly, I'd make it keep its caterpillar body shape but now with more Asian dragon features.
i think an idea for a bug/normal would be like a bunch of lil worm pokemon in a plastic bait container; essentially pairing a manmade object with a bug, making it normal! the dex entry would be like: "this pokemon is often used as fishing bait, but becomes a formidable force when put together in the same place! through teamwork, these pokemon never let any of their own be used for bait again."
I think mullover would have the sap sipper ability, gives it a good coverage for its grass weakness, and well sipping is drinking, and dwarves love one thing just as much as gold it’s booze!
A snowman for normal/ice is perfect! And the design that you came up with looks awesome. Lol its going to need some good ability to cover all its weaknesses though xD. Maybe something like "Snow Fight" that makes it immune to fighting type attacks. Idk. But my favorite designs were the fire/fairy types at the end! Literally would be my first pick on my team. The rock/normal didnt really come across as a normal type unfortunately. I feel like something more like Rockruff would've been a better way to go about it. Rockruff and Day-roc shouldve been rock/normal to begin with.... Here's an idea for another video: underused type combos. So like type combos that only forms, legendaries, or a single evolution line gets. Something like fire/electric which is only given to rotom oven if im not mistaken. But either way, very underutilized. Dark/electric is another one with possibilities that i think only hangry Morpeko has that type combo.
28:20 I feel like this seems more like a fire ghost type, especially evovling into a genie. I think maybe a fire fairy would be a wisp that looks more like a butterfly or a bird, vs a spirit. Very well done though!
Blue flames are not always hotter than red flames. There are a couple instances where blue burns cooler. If a blue flame is "fuel-rich" and lacks oxygen, it burns inefficiently, producing less heat than you'd expect-sometimes only as hot as a bright orange flame. So, blue doesn’t always mean max heat; incomplete combustion can keep temperatures lower than a fully combusted blue flame. Like with gas stoves or older heaters especially if they aren’t adjusted properly. Another instance were blue may burn cooler is dependent on the chemical composition of the fuel.
Yetuki - the Snow Pokemon Don't let its friendly-faced belly fool you! They say that many a trainer has gone missing in Yetuki territory, never to return... = Ability - Roll-Up: User's defense raises by one level at the start of every turn.
Dragon/Bug ideas! There's the purple worm in D&D. A mantis or scorpionfly could also lend itself to the dragon type. One critique on Faltir/Mortir: Pretty much every normal type, with the exception of Castform, looks to be a least partly a flesh-and-blood critter, whereas these two are definitely more animate stone. I kinda wish it was more of a lil' round critter that uses the stones/bricks as a shell, almost hermit crab like but without the crustacean vibe, y'know? I NEED Skalug and Mollover on my team, like, yesterday.
Humdrum & Mollover: Ability - Diggy Diggy Gives priority to all ground moves when at 1/2HP or above Skalug: Ability - Brinicle Ice type moves deal super effective damage to water types & may also cause paralysis Obsollisc: Ability - Evil Omen Physical contact moves have a 10% chance to inflict the attacker with curse Faltir & Mortir: Ability - Immovable Takes half damage from all physical moves, but speed is lowered by two stages when sent out Yetuki: Ability - Snow Blindness Disorients enemies by flashing its pure white body reflecting sunlight, causing a 2 stage accuracy drop turn one Wispin & Djinnferno: Ability - Granted Wish Being hit by a wind move raises the Pokemons attack, special attack, and speed by one stage
Humdrum: This old species of Pokemon has been found recorded as far back as cave paintings, leading to a theory that it is the ancestor of most if not all rodent pokemon. It is a nightmare for gardeners to deal with as they greedily munch all crops they dig under. Mollover: Once thought to be a solitary Pokemon due to its temperament, recent excavations of mountains discovered vast colonies of Mollover working and hoarding countless gems, precious metals, and berries they ferment. It can become very upset and disturbed being above ground for too long, its nearly blind eyes constantly squinting at the tiniest light. Skalug: It is capable of living for centuries without eating, the acidic blood running through its body providing enough power to survive the harshest conditions. When it does desire to feed, however, it simply approaches any slow crawling sea life and touches it, the combination of poisons and super cold ice shell killing near instantly. Obsollisc: A forgotten relic of an ancient tribe brought to life by the rituals performed at it, this Pokemon seeks worship as a means of siphoning life energy for fuel. Its been known to hypnotize any curious people or Pokemon with its unblinking eye to serve it, offering food & gifts until tiring of their presence and draining the victims of life. Faltir: Covered in old scrawlings from people long ago, this Pokemon sprung to life when humans began developing further and further into nature. No two have the same markings but all Faltir dislike them equally. Most humans consider them a nuisance since they will try to return to their point of origin, no matter where or how developed it has become. Mortir: Long enough time spent in cities has caused the Pokemon to evolve & reshape into something more fitting of human habitation. Very rarely moving from newly assigned spots, they are seemingly content to let youth spray paint over their bodies, much like their pre-evolved forms were. Yetuki: Mountains have been quarantined from human exploration due to these surprisingly aggressive Pokemon, their pseudo-faces belying a territorial tantrum. If too many invaders enter their territory at once, hundreds of Yetuki will participate in a massive roll down the mountain side, causing what locals call a Yeti-lanche. Wispin: It flees at the first sign of being spotted by anyone, human or Pokemon, leading it to be mistaken as shy. In reality, it loves being chased and delights in the panic of those who realize they've chased them too deep into the forest only to eventually lead them back when they've fully tired out. Its believed if you are fast enough to catch a Wispin, it will take you to the leader of its colony for a special reward. Djinnferno: The king of any Wispin colony, they are able to summon almost anything from a plume of magical fire and, with it, allows itself and its Wispin to live in complete solitude forever. When a young Wispin brings a human to the colony, the Djinnferno is obligated to give them three wishes as congratulations for winning the chase, though some Djinnferno dislike this tradition and will purposefully twist wishes against the human.
These are my ideas for thematically appropriate, and competitively decent abilities: Pre-Evolved Ability/Evolved ability | Basic, Basic, and Hidden The mole getting Prankster/Pickpocket, Gluttony, and Friend Guard would be cool and decent. The shark getting Poison Touch and Tough Claws could work well. The obelisk could have Regenerator, Sand Stream, and Shadow Tag. The river rock might end up with Sturdy/Normalize, Simple, and Solid Rock. The yeti that's dressed for success could get Intimidate, Fluffy, and Pure Power. Love them, but a defensive Ice/Normal needs all the help it can get. The Djinn may benefit from Flame Body, Magician, and Magic Guard. This was pretty fun to think up!
I can think of some abilities for these guys Mollover, as a “precursor pokemon” could pull from its descendants. It can have huge power as a hidden ability and one of the sand abilities (sand rush, sand force, etc.). If we wanted a new ability, I thought of “Sand Lock”, which causes all pokemon in sand to be unable to switch, including Mollover. I think it could work, but I knew forcing the entire other team to not be able to switch and being immune would be really strong, so I made it affect the whole area. I’d just make Mollover really slow but have good bulk and attack. Skalug will get a new ability, and since we already got “cold reception” as a dumb ice pun, we’ll give it “Ice Breaker”. This ability makes all its moves have a 1.3x multiplier against any ice type. Or if we wanted to play with the form changing, we could have “Ice Over”, which will make it change its stats and appearance whether it is snowing or not, like eiscue but cooler and better. Obsollisc is a toughy. It could get Shadow Tag or Mummy as basic abilities, and for a new ability, I thought of something crazy and really broken “Alluring Presence”, which acts like Lightning Rod but for fighting and normal type moves. It wouldn’t get a stat boost or anything, but I know thats like way too crazy. Maybe something less crazy would be “Eerie Field”, which nullifies screen moves. Mortir definitely gets simple and adaptability as abilities, and its new ability would be “Unnoticed”, which gives it the dark type immunity to Prankster. Makes sense for a pokemon that is literally has graffiti on it. Yetuki can get the snow abilities or Thick Fat. Then it can get the ability “Relenting”, where its rage makes it so at half health, opposing pokemon can no longer switch out. I’d say it could get a pursuit type boost to its attacks, but that seems pretty crazy Djinnferno can get some of the “magic” abilities like magician or magic guard, but its new ability might be hard. I thought of a pretty broken idea of “Otherworldly” which lets it bypass immunities but it loses health each turn. I’m thinking like its too powerful to stay on this plane of existence long enough but it still can use its tricks. I don’t know, I want it to be more interesting than just an extra boost to stab. I like when pokemon get these strange abilities and gain a little viability. I know a good bit about competitive, and a Pokemon’s ability can really make or break a pokemon. Its why you see Wheezing with pokemon like Toedscruel and Slaking, cuz they simply become better with no ability.
*Ability thoughts!* (I'm giving three suggestions each, but not every pokémon needs or gets that many.) • *Humdrum & Mollover;* Tough Claws, and maybe Weak Armor, in reference to physical traits. For a hidden ability and to better reference the Fairy typing, Power of Alchemy seems "dwarfy" enough. • *Skalug;* Poison Touch is an obvious one, and I think essential to the concept. Rock Head would, I think, be good for representing it's ability to crash through things. For the last option, I think it would be interesting to throw in Toxic Debris, as though poison infused shards of ice were breaking off of its outer armor. • *Obsollisc;* Simple would be an interesting nod to its very basic design, and with it being such an imposing being, but not exactly able to intimidate anything as a big slab of rock, Pressure feels appropriate. It also honestly only seems fair to give it the same Wandering Spirit ability as Runerigis gets. • *Faltir & Mortir;* Perhaps these deserve Simple even more than the previous, but also after some consideration Solid Rock. This feels like a pokémon that really just endures everything, even when people come along and deface it's body. Which is why I think that Own Tempo would be a good last ability. It just isn't bothered by what goes on around it. • *Yetuki;* Ice Body feels like a given, and fits this guy's already tanky vibes, but I also like the idea of giving it Slush Rush as it charges at you with surprising speed. Anger Shell is a bit of a screwball pick, but I think fits the vibe without being something another "abominable snowman" pokémon has already. • *Wispin & Djinferno;* This looks like a funny little guy, and you said he's a playful trickster, so of course Prankster has to be one of its abilities, and Flame Body also goes without saying. Magic Bounce I think also goes with the tricky nature, while playing a little more into the concept of a genie.
I've been dying for a Grass/Dragon type for years and years and years. Then we got it in Pokémon Omega Ruby with the Hoenn starter, Sceptile... which Treeko is my favorite starter so I was even more happy... but i also always wanted a Bug/Dragon type and a Fire/Fairy type as well.
Wispin - the Wish Flame Pokemon In many villages and even some modern cities, a swarm of Wispin flying through town has been said to bring good luck since ancient times. = Ability - Flame Body Signature move - Flickering Flame: The user conjures a candle-like, extremely hot flame underneath the target. Any pokemon that enters the field will have the BURN status inflicted on them (like stealth rock or toxic spikes). The effect can be negated by rainy weather, and otherwise ends when the user has fainted.
Ability for mollover Mole hill: when applying a debuff to an opponent the effect is doubled. Playing on the age old tale of don't make a mountain out of a mole hill
A concept for a poison ice type that I just had watching this video is a bacteria like thing that adapted to thrive in the cold instead of die to it. Probably makes no sense according to actual science but it's a fun idea
Faltir - the Pummel Stone Pokémon Despite the intentions of many an unruly teenager, the painted markings on Faltir often help them to attract mates! Ability - Crumble: When Faltir's health drops to 50% or lower, its defense falls harshly and attack raises sharply, with a lesser boost to speed.
Fey and Fairytales, and also the pinnacle of whimsy. Think about it, multiple Fairy Types being based on sweets and/or pastries? It makes sense for confectionary Pokemon to be Fairy Type because they're whimsical. But maybe that's just how I look at it.😅
Mollover - The Demolition Pokemon Ability: Soil Till When swapped in, this Pokemon causes the turn timers of the currently active Terrain to refresh to full.
Mortir - the Pummel Stone Pokémon Having adapted over centuries to a modern city environment, large groups of Mortir can often be found adding abandoned bricks to their bodies in order to appear larger and more dangerous. However, they're more scared of you than you are of them. = Also alternate name: Brutalith. It's a play on "brutalism", the architectural style, and the prefix "lith" or "litho", which refers to stone in a similar way to "geo". Edit: I just realized it also works as a play on "monolith" lol
ALL of these designs are so interesting! The colors especially feel so in line with real pokemon! I think the abilities for these pokemon could go something like: Humdrum, Mollover: Fur Coat(because all the caked on dirt makes it beefier), Mold Breaker (Exca relation plus, it drills, duh) Skalug: Swift Swim(I LOVE its in water design, so awesome), Ice Breaker(NEW) - This Pokemon does 50% more damage to Ice types on contact. Obsollisc: Wandering Spirit(obviously), Neuroforce(to emphasize the ancient, otherworldlyness) Faltir, Mortir(such a tragic, yet fantastic idea with great subtle storytelling like actual Pokemon designs): Solid Rock, Color Change -> Filter(adaptation to its surroundings made it become more sturdy, but at what cost?) Yetuki: Fluffy/Thick Fat(duh), Iron Fist(basic but big hands go punch) Wispin/Djinnferno(WISPIN IS SO CUTE I WANT IT TO BE A MYTHICAL): Prankster->Magician(obvious pipeline, but it fits), Magic Bounce(Magic/ethereal based pokemon shouldnt be statused so easily) [also I think a fire type with magic bounce to bounce stealth rocks would go crazy in competitive]
Mollover - the Demolition Pokémon Despite its gruff appearance, this pokémon is actually quite friendly! Its impromptu demolition projects can often be halted through negotiations or berry-based bribes.
It's hard to put into words, but these really look like *Pokemon* in a way a lot of fakemons don't, fantastic job! Also, I think making the Fire type related to wishes makes some sort of birthday candle blowing signature move a necessity. Maybe the djinn gets a fire breath attack that drains the opponent? Or something that heals it and its ally in a double battle when inflicting a burn? An ability that makes burns heal instead of hurt would be interesting in the sort of "wish with a catch" way, giving something good but halving their attack. Of course, it'd be great when paired with a Guts or Flare Boost ally...
I've had this concept for a Bug/Dragon type that starts Bug/Ground or just mono-Bug as a silkworm before evolving into a Bug/Dragon as it weaves a traditional Chinese Dragon Dance costume that it uses to protect its main body.
Humdrum - the Demolition Pokemon Herds of Humdrum can often be found --however unintentionally-- terrorizing local farmers. They enjoy playing with people and other pokemon by tunnelling underneath them and pulling their legs down into the dirt. = Ability - Arena Trap: Prevents the opposing Pokemon from fleeing or switching out.
Djinnferno - the Wish Flame Pokemon Trainers managing to befriend Djinnferno have reported increased fortune in their travels, especially when searching for rare or elusive pokemon. Ability - Flame Body
15:27 I love the subtle effect on Obsollisc where it’s waving about like a spirit. I thought for a second that my eyes were playing tricks on me there.
As weird as it sounds Normal type is flesh type. I think the rock / normal could have had a fleshy normal bodied animal covered in rocks. Same for ice.
Since he ties into destructive tendencies I'd give Mollover Sheer Force, giving a boost to moves with secondary effects, and then I'd also give him Mold Breaker as an option, since Mold Breaker nullifies abilities and Mollover tearing down structures and other things kinda plays into that he "tears down" their abilities.
Okay the ice shark is clearly a very good good boy and if you get poisoned it's your own fault for petting it in the wrong place. Skalug has never done a thing wrong in his life.
My idea for a normal/bug type was a dog pokemon with fleas that live symbiotically with it. The fleas help protect it and the dog provides them somewhere to live safely.
I had an idea for an Ice/Poison type inspired by the idea of ancient pathogens trapped in melting permafrost. I wrote up a bunch of hypothetical details and stuff based on my idea- design concepts, stats, ability, a form change based on whether it’s melted or not, etc. I requested my family hire a fakemon creator to bring my idea to life for Christmas, and I’m very excited to see how/if it goes at all. If they do it, for all I know they will/have ask/asked you. Not sure why I’m saying this- just hoping you’ll enjoy it if it does wind up being you they ask, I guess? :)
Quite like the work you put in here mate, though on the topic of Rock Ghost. . . I feel like the reason why many ghost types you think would be paired with Rock arent is because of their technicalities - like Runegregis is a clay tablet and Golems (Golurk) are usually made of *earth* , theres no stone involved. Cofegregius is similarly a ghost hiding in a sarcophagus, which can be made of wood or stone (and the paneling apperance makes me think wood?). etc etc Usually the paired element with ghost types requires that half to be bound to the idea of the ghost itself. Like Spiritomb is ghost-dark, because even tho its tied to this sealing stone thats just it - its simply tied too it, its trrue nature is a clump of evil spirits held down by an unknown amount of good ones. In essence what Im trying to say is, usually the secondary pairing for ghost types seems to come from said second element being tied into the concept of the ghost itself. Chandelure are flamess that burn souls to live (fire), Frillish/Jellicent are water spirits who kidnap land folk in order to drown and feed on their souls (water), Mimikyu is the usual "dont judge book by cover" fairytale story (fairy), etc etc. A rock ghost would thus by this logic tie it being made of a rock like substance with its ghost concept. Anyways, I personally dont really take to the Rock Ghost of this video, even if it looks interesting, it feels like its trying too hard so to speak to make it clear that "yes this is obviously meant to be rock and ghost!". It doesnt give the same casual "of course its also this element" like say Chandelure or Dehlmise or even Mimikyu do. The idea of Obsollic is thus cool to me, but not the execution. If anything, I wouldve gone with perhaps a Gargoyle route, a stone effigy made because they didnt know ghost pokemon could kinda reshape their surrogaate forms/float and all that, or maybe since its so old, something simpler like a spiritual construct coalesced around prayer beads or a stone mask used to divine with the dead abit too often. Even something like the ghost of fossil Pokemon who emerged soon afterr the original die outs that robbed us of having some fossil mons in the present, which were the first e ample of the situation humans would come across. Since you kept bringing up Stackatacka something like a reference to burial cairns (which are piles of rocks put ontop of graves to mark them) tied in with that one yokai thats just a bunch of eyes on a wall (so it becomes a bunch of rocks with eyes) seems interesting too. Then again, I cant draw for my life, so Im not going to pretend trying to get the inspiration and make it by hand is easy. Just something that came to mind.
And I think for Ice/Poison they could do a regional Naganadel (maybe this one would be from another area in Ultra Megalopolis's earth). Instead of being a specially offensive wasp, it could be a physically offensive and defensive version of Naganadel with its stinger coated in light purple-ish blue ice, and its wings would be bigger with pronounced ice coating it, and its bug eyes would be covered in a cool, jagged ice mask. I think that would be super cool : ]
Fire/fairy would have a pretty solid defensive typing, as despite having 4 weaknesses it would have 8 resistances and 1 immunity. With a solid offensive spread as well only failing to hit other fire types for at least neutral
@ I think Ground/Fairy fits Flygon better than “Bug/Dragon”. It’s a majestic Pokémon, and doesn’t really seem like a “Bug” an any way, shape, or form. It’s classified as the “Desert Spirit” Polémon, and can be found in Oasis locations//mirages. It seems to be more of an earth elemental or earth spirit-type of creature than simply a “dragon” or a “bug”. Trapinch can definitely be a Ground/Bug Type. It’s an antlion (or specifically an antlion “larva”), and it looks like a creepy-crawly Vibrava is trickier, but Ground/Bug can still fit. It definitely strikes the balance between “Not a Bug” & “Bug”. Vibrava is DEFINITELY the main consideration for the Dragon-Type, as a “Dragonfly”-creature. But as a dragonfly, it’s still DEFINITELY a bug. They don’t bury themselves in the sand, so “Ground/Bug” doesn’t work as much, but they still primarily can be found in the desert/caves, and Nincada is Bug/Ground [like how Rellor should be]. Was this a good enough answer for my reasoning? Or is there anything else I could’ve brought up? *(I don’t want to sound sarcastic or anything like that. I’m autistic, and I really would love to have more discussions like this.)* Keep it cool. 👍
If they where to be implemented into the games, the normal rock type pokemon could be kind of like Spinda and its spots having like a million patterns, but have a couple dozen graffiti symbols/shapes and which ones it has on it and where they are placed is different for each Mortir.
I do have some small nitpicks, but that's mainly because I love the designs and art of the Pokemon. think the fairy moles should be a bit pinker or whiter since that would make them more accurate to the animal it's based on and carve out it's own look amoung the current mole pokemon. the greenland shark pokemon could probably do to have some gills or something in the purple body to make it look more "shark" like. other then that it's all good and the designs and creatures look really good
for the trinixi region, I have a bug/dragon based on a dragon headed caterpillar mixed with a wind sock that evolves into a dragon tail butterfly taking inspiration from a butterfly kite. it has the abilities wind rider and gale force(boost wind moves by 1/3, 1/2 in tailwind) with the hidden ability shield dust.
I really like the graffiti rock Pokémon. I feel like it could be one that has unique colorations for each encounter like Spinda, but more varied in design. It would be a good type to inhabit an abandoned building where there are ghost type, and I would be a good Pokémon for a villain team similar to the punk style of Team Yell. Maybe, it has a unique mechanic outside of battle where you can customize is paint with different designs and colors.
Mollover - Digger - Attacks on Ground, Rock, and Steel type Pokémon will always be CRITICAL! (And/or) All attacks on Ground, Rock, And Steel type Pokémon will always do neutral damage at a minimum.
15:25 It really looks nice, but also looks like a Nexomon. I don't remember the name, but it is just like that. Edit: Just got the name, it's Monolix, the evolution of Monexus. Not awesome names, but they really look similar. That proves the concept of a ghost monolith/obelisk "mon" is cool.
Humdrum's ability: Earth Eater Mullover's ability: Borer (Boost the power of drill moves, trailblaze, bulldoze, and dig) Skalug's ability: Cryo Preservation (The Pokémon is always considered frozen, thus is immune to all other status conditions) Obsollisc's ability: Hollow Ruins (Physical attacks cause the Pokémon to scatter pieces of its body to create stealth rocks that damages and lowers the entering Pokémon's defense) Faltir's ability: Unaware/Oblivious Mortir's ability: Unaware/Oblivious Hidden: Stamina Yetuki's ability: Ice Compaction (Raises the Pokémon's defense when hit with an ice type move or ends a turn in snowy weather) Wispin's ability: Fortune’s Favor (increases the likelihood that allies will crit) Djinnferno's ability: Wishful Aura (Allied Pokémon excluding this Pokémon have their crit chance increased, and will always land their attacks) These were a lot of fun to create and the fakemon were amazing, my favorite was the Djinnferno line
That Djinnferno ability would absolutely break the game LMAO. Any fast pokémon with a one shot attack could just guarantee a hit when sent out with it. Maybe an increased chance of secondary effects occurring would be more realistic of a design choice.
I accidentally saw wispin on the mirror and looks like the saddest ghost with something impaling their head, like the old tale of how you died showing up as birthmarks
You could up the normal factor of Faltir/Mortir by playing into them being Normal underneath all the stone. "Faltir is a notoriously shy pokemon. Though it is common among the routes of Kanto, it's true form has never been documented as it clads itself in small pebbles and rocks to avoid the attention of curious trainers" "Mortir covers itself in bricks to blend it's large body into the cities of Kanto. Their call mimics the humdrum of a city, allowing them to communicate with each other while avoiding detection. If you discover bustling village with no people, you might have stumbled across a Mortir colony!"
normal bug could just a giant bug, could be fuzzy, could change colors, could mimic a cat or cow or something, could be the hungry hungry caterpillar. bug dragon, an eastern dragon that is a velvet worm, a praying mantis that resembles a dragon head, durant that make armor of dragon scales instead of metal, a mosquito that drinks dragon -blood- ENERGY(this is pokemon, blood is a myth) in envy of the mighty dragons evolving into one of their ranks, a spider that build their nests outside of dragon lairs to eat them.
Osbsollisc looks like an Unknown evolution that can only happen by item and served as guardians or teleportation devices that helps arceus see everything in the world.
The worst part is how many of these could easily exist with existing designs. Dunsparce could have been like a paradox instead and been ground/fairy, bug/dragon Flygon, Yanmega, Slither Wing. And fire/fairy seems like such an easy one too, I'm shocked there isn't one yet. I could have sworn Runerigus was rock/ghost, why GF? Lol
Bug/Normal is super easy. Just make a housefly 'mon!
For Bug/Dragon, how about a twist on the classic "dragon keeps princess in tower"? A dragon that's an anthill/termite mound/beehive moved by the entire colony, with a tower-like back where the hive queen stays at the top, giving the "beast" orders (or relaying her trainer's)
orrr the bug normal evolves into the bug dragon, where the housefly evolves into a MASSIVE stylized horsefly
@louisgrissman4857 There is a moth that looks very similar to a dragon. Maybe that could make good inspiration.
Dragonfly... Mweheheheh..
ice type is my favorite type and if skalug was a real pokemon id use him in every game i love these creations man
Thanks so much!!!
You know, just coming up with these ideas around the unused types is already great but to give it this fascinating precursor lore is just inspired
I think your graffiti idea for Faltir is actually pretty spot on. Grafaiai being normal/poison means that graffiti is a "normal type" concept and generally signs of humanity or civilization are shown as either normal (or sometimes poison) type.
"What is a brick but a stone with a job?"
Bro u r COOKIN with the street wisdom
i just have to say, i've never been so invested in watching a speed paint in literal years. the art is absolutely gorgeous, and even better to watch the process of. not to mention your voice is lovely and easy to listen to. great video 💕
Thank you so much! I’ve always loved process videos so I’m glad others can see the interest in them as well
Legends say Djinnferno can grant any wish. But in practice, it only grants wishes for things to catch fire.
I love how faltir and mortir both have false face features that were painted on them, and while animals have the same camouflage tecnique embedded into them by design, these two got their by the hand of human, like it or not
Take off yetuki's upper teeth and his mouth will be constantly confused with eyes lol
Obsollisc - the Ancient Pokémon
An elderly guardian for many ancient temples, Obsollisc will attempt to scare away any invaders. Should this prove ineffective, it will use its large hands to simply remove them from the premises.
It's signature move could be called Ancient Energy
Stern: If I'm gonna make a Normal/Rock type, I'm gonna have to include a little bit of Normal into it, and that became kind of hard.
Me: haha funny Ditto dinosaur! It's a Dittodocus!
All jokes aside, Faltir's inspiration coming from humans disrespecting nature is great.
If you're curious about the rest of the type combos in the video, I covered most of them in my region!
Ground/Fairy: not covered
Ice/Poison: Shuffluenza (The Walking Plague Pokémon).
Normal/Ice: not covered
Fairy/Fire: Vacacian Ninetales.
Mortir is GREAT! it's literally the poke'mon Brick Break was made for ☠️
I can imagine it having symbiotic relationships with Urban Smeargle. The smeargle paint faces on them to grant them intimidate ability and the Mortir protect them.
ooh different abilities based on the faces painted on would be so cool!
I still want a steel/poison with Levitate, Fireproof or Flash Fire, even if it's not a good pokemon, it's just something I've always thought it would be cool
You want entries? I got you some entries. XD
Humdrum, the Demolition Pokemon, Humdrum spend all day breaking through soil and stone to increase durability of their claws.
Your art style is amazing, and fits the ‘Pokémon’ style perfectly, yet with your own distinct design to them. Absolutely amazing!!
Thanks so much! I put a lot of work into that :)
Mortir's story makes me so sad, I want to give them a hug and scrub off the tags
Yo imagine if Faltir had a split evolution, one if you scrub off his tags and one if you dont! I imagine maybe the scrubbed one might change into a Water Rock type, and end up with maybe some algae growing on it?? As if you had washed the stones and returned them to the river basically
I'm OBSESSED with Mollover I love their beard so so much they're peak dwarf design
Normal/Bug seems like a no-brainer to me - simply combine a bug with a mammal: ladybug-cat, beetle deer, ant lion. The possibilities are endless!
8:30 Mantas aren’t sharks. They are closely related to them. Rays and sharks both belong to the cartilaginous fish.
I þought so
I’m also not sure that Greenland Sharks were ever considered extinct or were rediscovered, this may be a conflation with the coelacanth tale
Some thoughts on the combos you didn't get to:
Normal always struck me as the "mammal" type (not entirely but in general). Like, we have flying for birds, bug for invertebrates, water for fish, etc. Plus, a lot of normal dual types are usually "mammal with features of the second type" like Pyroar is "lion but on fire" or Sawsbuck is "deer with tree antlers" or Girafarig is "giraffe that knows what you did last summer."
Following that line of thinking, perhaps the Normal/Bug and Normal/Steel pokemon can be "mammal but with bug features" and "mammal but with plate armor" or something like that?
28:48 ability NEEDS to be prankster. Especially for willowisp
YOOOO OBSOLLISC IS MY FAVORITE because of it looking like an ultra beast and an unknown had a baby
We really wanted stern draw the long rock Pokémon, the sad rock Pokémon, THE BRICK WALL POKÉMON
AND THEY ALL TURNED OUT FIRE
HOW
28:20 I feel like this seems more like a fire ghost type, especially evovling into a genie. I think maybe a fire fairy would be a wisp that looks more like a butterfly or a bird, vs a spirit. Very well done though!
Maybe it could have an ability like Dhelmise to give it fairy stab?
Blue flames are not always hotter than red flames. There are a couple instances where blue burns cooler. If a blue flame is "fuel-rich" and lacks oxygen, it burns inefficiently, producing less heat than you'd expect-sometimes only as hot as a bright orange flame. So, blue doesn’t always mean max heat; incomplete combustion can keep temperatures lower than a fully combusted blue flame. Like with gas stoves or older heaters especially if they aren’t adjusted properly.
Another instance were blue may burn cooler is dependent on the chemical composition of the fuel.
Yetuki - the Snow Pokemon
Don't let its friendly-faced belly fool you! They say that many a trainer has gone missing in Yetuki territory, never to return...
=
Ability - Roll-Up: User's defense raises by one level at the start of every turn.
I truly do love these. The lore around them is believable, interesting and inspiring. Makes me want to keep working on my game
Glad I can inspire you, keep at it!
Humdrum & Mollover: Ability - Diggy Diggy
Gives priority to all ground moves when at 1/2HP or above
Skalug: Ability - Brinicle
Ice type moves deal super effective damage to water types & may also cause paralysis
Obsollisc: Ability - Evil Omen
Physical contact moves have a 10% chance to inflict the attacker with curse
Faltir & Mortir: Ability - Immovable
Takes half damage from all physical moves, but speed is lowered by two stages when sent out
Yetuki: Ability - Snow Blindness
Disorients enemies by flashing its pure white body reflecting sunlight, causing a 2 stage accuracy drop turn one
Wispin & Djinnferno: Ability - Granted Wish
Being hit by a wind move raises the Pokemons attack, special attack, and speed by one stage
Holy cow I just got a massive Idea 💡!!! A whole region of precursory pokemon, and the professor is based on Darwin
That's awesome!!!
I like it 👌
18:47 i love him… just give the lil guy a bath and a snack and a lil smooch he deserves it
throws him in bath tub.
he screams and takes critical hit damage.
@@thesterninator NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! D:
These are my ideas for thematically appropriate, and competitively decent abilities:
Pre-Evolved Ability/Evolved ability | Basic, Basic, and Hidden
The mole getting Prankster/Pickpocket, Gluttony, and Friend Guard would be cool and decent.
I feel like a tarantula hawk would be a good bug/dragon. Also, with a normal/bug, I think a musical bug would be the best approach.
I could see that fairy ground type being a regional drilbur form
I can think of some abilities for these guys
Mollover, as a “precursor pokemon” could pull from its descendants.
I’d say it could get a pursuit type boost to its attacks, but that seems pretty crazy
Djinnferno can get some of the “magic” abilities like magician or magic guard, but its new ability might be hard.
*Ability thoughts!* (I'm giving three suggestions each, but not every pokémon needs or gets that many.)
• *Humdrum & Mollover;* Tough Claws, and maybe Weak Armor, in reference to physical traits.
Closest to Darwin would probably be Rowan due to him studying Evolution
oooh good call!

Not that far off
@@thesterninator Oh actually Samson Oak as well due to researching regional variants on an archipelago.

Wispin - the Wish Flame Pokemon
In many villages and even some modern cities, a swarm of Wispin flying through town has been said to bring good luck since ancient times.

Ability - Flame Body
Signature move - Flickering Flame: The user conjures a candle-like, extremely hot flame underneath the target. Any pokemon that enters the field will have the BURN status inflicted on them (like stealth rock or toxic spikes). The effect can be negated by rainy weather, and otherwise ends when the user has fainted.
Bro you are really creative, I discovered your channel today and I'm obsessed. I hope you get the recognition you deserve.
Thank you so much! Glad you're enjoying the channel.
Ability for mollover
Mole hill: when applying a debuff to an opponent the effect is doubled.
Playing on the age old tale of don't make a mountain out of a mole hill
A concept for a poison ice type that I just had watching this video is a bacteria like thing that adapted to thrive in the cold instead of die to it. Probably makes no sense according to actual science but it's a fun idea
Oh, you mean psychrophilic bacteria? Those are in fact a thing, yeah. They survive and reproduce between 10 and -20 degrees celsius.
Djinnferno lookin like that pill from that Osmosis Jones movie
Ah yes, Drixenol Koldreliff a favorite design of mine lol
Faltir - the Pummel Stone Pokémon
Despite the intentions of many an unruly teenager, the painted markings on Faltir often help them to attract mates!
Ability - Crumble: When Faltir's health drops to 50% or lower, its defense falls harshly and attack raises sharply, with a lesser boost to speed.
Wispin looks adorable!
Fairy type ≠ pink 👎
Fairy type = Fairy tail 👍
Love the Fey and the concepts that can be drawn from it.
Im with you, fey folklore give so much possibilities
Fey and Fairytales, and also the pinnacle of whimsy.
Think about it, multiple Fairy Types being based on sweets and/or pastries?
It makes sense for confectionary Pokemon to be Fairy Type because they're whimsical.
But maybe that's just how I look at it.😅
Mollover - The Demolition Pokemon
Ability: Soil Till
When swapped in, this Pokemon causes the turn timers of the currently active Terrain to refresh to full.
Mortir - the Pummel Stone Pokémon
Having adapted over centuries to a modern city environment, large groups of Mortir can often be found adding abandoned bricks to their bodies in order to appear larger and more dangerous. However, they're more scared of you than you are of them.
=
Also alternate name: Brutalith. It's a play on "brutalism", the architectural style, and the prefix "lith" or "litho", which refers to stone in a similar way to "geo". Edit: I just realized it also works as a play on "monolith" lol
For Yetuki, how about a pre evolution that's just a snowball. It's probably the most normal thing about snow and ice many people first picture
ALL of these designs are so interesting! The colors especially feel so in line with real pokemon!
I think the abilities for these pokemon could go something like:
Humdrum, Mollover: Fur Coat(because all the caked on dirt makes it beefier), Mold Breaker (Exca relation plus, it drills, duh)
Skalug: Swift Swim(I LOVE its in water design, so awesome), Ice Breaker(NEW) - This Pokemon does 50% more damage to Ice types on contact.
Obsollisc: Wandering Spirit(obviously), Neuroforce(to emphasize the ancient, otherworldlyness)
Faltir, Mortir(such a tragic, yet fantastic idea with great subtle storytelling like actual Pokemon designs): Solid Rock, Color Change -> Filter(adaptation to its surroundings made it become more sturdy, but at what cost?)
Yetuki: Fluffy/Thick Fat(duh), Iron Fist(basic but big hands go punch)
Wispin/Djinnferno(WISPIN IS SO CUTE I WANT IT TO BE A MYTHICAL): Prankster->Magician(obvious pipeline, but it fits), Magic Bounce(Magic/ethereal based pokemon shouldnt be statused so easily) [also I think a fire type with magic bounce to bounce stealth rocks would go crazy in competitive]
Mollover - the Demolition Pokémon
Despite its gruff appearance, this pokémon is actually quite friendly! Its impromptu demolition projects can often be halted through negotiations or berry-based bribes.
That tangent at the end was funny.
Humdrum - the Demolition Pokemon
Herds of Humdrum can often be found --however unintentionally-- terrorizing local farmers. They enjoy playing with people and other pokemon by tunnelling underneath them and pulling their legs down into the dirt.
=
Ability - Arena Trap: Prevents the opposing Pokemon from fleeing or switching out.
faltir and mortir fucking emotionally destroyed me. very good art 10/10

15:27 I love the subtle effect on Obsollisc where it’s waving about like a spirit. I thought for a second that my eyes were playing tricks on me there.
I too am just a bundled up person during the winter like Yetuki
As weird as it sounds Normal type is flesh type. I think the rock / normal could have had a fleshy normal bodied animal covered in rocks. Same for ice.
No…
Rowan's the evolution guy so I'd say he's the Darwin, and i guess since sycamore is for mega evolution he's the mega darwin?
I'd say Professor Elm, because in HGSS, Professor Oak is quoted saying, "He is the best when it comes to Pokemon evolution."
I loved the designs, but the Robin Williams praise instantly made me subscribe
Since he ties into destructive tendencies I'd give Mollover Sheer Force, giving a boost to moves with secondary effects, and then I'd also give him Mold Breaker as an option, since Mold Breaker nullifies abilities and Mollover tearing down structures and other things kinda plays into that he "tears down" their abilities.
I love the normal type. Would suck if it went away but your fakemon are great!
"I know this sounds nerdy"
You run an art channel and this is a pokemon themed video. Nerdy is what we are here for.
I think it’s less like pokemon forgot these type combos and more like they just haven’t found the right time
Quite like the work you put in here mate, though on the topic of Rock Ghost. . .
I feel like the reason why many ghost types you think would be paired with Rock arent is because of their technicalities - like Runegregis is a clay tablet and Golems (Golurk) are usually made of *earth* , theres no stone involved. Cofegregius is similarly a ghost hiding in a sarcophagus, which can be made of wood or stone (and the paneling apperance makes me think wood?). etc etc
Usually the paired element with ghost types requires that half to be bound to the idea of the ghost itself.
I love how the first designs also have some Drillur/Excadrill vibes to them
I primarily stick to what actual Pokémon could have these Types if they were done correctly/“modern”(?)…

- {???}
Just basic examples.
Most of these makes but I have no clue why Flygon is ground fairy here
@
I think Ground/Fairy fits Flygon better than “Bug/Dragon”.
It’s an antlion (or specifically an antlion “larva”), and it looks like a creepy-crawly
Vibrava is trickier, but Ground/Bug can still fit.
I’m autistic, and I really would love to have more discussions like this.)*
Keep it cool. 👍
If they where to be implemented into the games, the normal rock type pokemon could be kind of like Spinda and its spots having like a million patterns, but have a couple dozen graffiti symbols/shapes and which ones it has on it and where they are placed is different for each Mortir.
Mollover is peak character design, I need this grumpy little man on my team ASAP!!
Normal/Rock could be a regional rodent pokemon who uses rocks as tools
Mollover - Digger - Attacks on Ground, Rock, and Steel type Pokémon will always be CRITICAL!
(And/or)
All attacks on Ground, Rock, And Steel type Pokémon will always do neutral damage at a minimum.
Humdrum's ability: Earth Eater
Mullover's ability: Borer (Boost the power of drill moves, trailblaze, bulldoze, and dig)
Skalug's ability: Cryo Preservation (The Pokémon is always considered frozen, thus is immune to all other status conditions)
Obsollisc's ability: Hollow Ruins (Physical attacks cause the Pokémon to scatter pieces of its body to create stealth rocks that damages and lowers the entering Pokémon's defense)
Faltir's ability: Unaware/Oblivious
Mortir's ability: Unaware/Oblivious Hidden: Stamina
Yetuki's ability: Ice Compaction (Raises the Pokémon's defense when hit with an ice type move or ends a turn in snowy weather)
Wispin's ability: Fortune’s Favor (increases the likelihood that allies will crit)
Djinnferno's ability: Wishful Aura (Allied Pokémon excluding this Pokémon have their crit chance increased, and will always land their attacks)
These were a lot of fun to create and the fakemon were amazing, my favorite was the Djinnferno line
Though it is common among the routes of Kanto, it's true form has never been documented as it clads itself in small pebbles and rocks to avoid the attention of curious trainers"
"Mortir covers itself in bricks to blend it's large body into the cities of Kanto.
Greenland sharks can also get exxxxtrrreeeeemly old
Imagine the evolution having different forms. After all some river stones are used in landscaping for either homes or fancy buildings
Lol
"How would I make a bug dragon, maybe a wyrm worm?"
That exists , Applin
