Already happy with the Classic Review reviews. It only makes sense to shine a light on the older games that are still solid and fun to play. Roll Through The Ages is great... and I agree that I want upgraded dice for it! lol Maybe someone will listen and make them. :-)
This was one of the few games I kept when I sold off most of my Eagle Gryphon Bookshelf games. I remember it being genuinely solid at that time. Still have it in my collection until today.
Bought this game a year ago for nostalgia's sake, and the dice now use a black ink and are much easier to read (though the iconography is still the same). Still, one of those games I can pull out when teaching newcomers to the hobby. Thanks for the updated review!
Tom says there's no solo, but both BGG and the Eagle-Gryphon website say it is 1-4 players. What gives? Did they add this to later printings? (It feels weird referring to game "printings," when the majority of pieces are slabs of wood.)
i actually love this game. Haven't rolled through the ages in ages, but remember liking this a lot the last time I played. And every time I see new roll and writes I remember that this one came out first and was doing most of hte same stuff. And did it well. I'm interested in the other Roll & Write that Eagle puts out - The Fleet Dice Game. It seems like it has some of the same elemenets but they change it up a bit. Would love to see if Fleet outdoes Roll Through the Ages for the best Roll & Write Eagle puts out. Also, Roll Trhough the ages still seems to be better than a lot of the newer roll & writes, though I havne't played some of the biggest ones, I will admit.
Great series! Please, please, pleaaaaaaassseee, keep it up!

Timely re-review as I only just watched your original review a couple of days ago! Thanks Tom.
I have a later edition with the symbols on the dice are solid black. The Late Bronze Age expansion pad elevates the game even higher.

Awesome - please keep doing these!
Great series! Would love some more. Let’s not forget the classics in all the obsession for the latest hotness.

Agreed. This game is still really solid. We pull it out a few times a year and still enjoy playing.
This. Would be a great app.

Lol nice word play
This is a great game. I went to a flea market and there with a guy there and all he had was like 50 copies of Roll Through the Ages
ERA: Medieval Age replaced this for me! I love the actual building pieces.
