I really appreciate the F2P point of view and how you accurately manage and access value in terms of how to spend free viz. so based on that route, knowing how strong the ibara+vision card combo is, that seems like the way to go and how F2P should approach it if their pulls were similar to yours. However, I play this game also because i am an FF fan as well, and FF6 also happens to be my fav.... i would also be looking for sabin > edgar > shadow. I have missed out on every swimsuit/halloween/winter char as well as some really good global/100 cost units to save up for FF units. Prob. not a smrt idea in terms of account progression, but that keeps me motivated to keep playing the game.
Esther and Ibara are GL Fest units and GL Fest comes back around frequently and consistently (every 3 months or so) So you can complete the pity for Ibara and her VC and just hold onto them/slow build them and wait for summer to complete them. I guess it depends on how much you are willing to spend but I doubt we'll see banners this generous on the pity for a while.
i disagree, dont pitty ibarra you will get her in future pulls like you got zazan. i got zazan while pulling for helena, and got duane while pulling for ibarra. i dont know why but off banner units that dont have rate up sims to come out more than the units with rate up. i didnt pull for any crystal warriors, bit ill be pulling for astoria, im confident ill be able to get other crystal units during that time.
Gunning for 2 gl units and their vision cards to max in a single week sounds like a nightmare. Some wise words i heard sometime when i started this game, build upwards not outwards. ;) Unless you wanna sit staring at Doug Drabek... Got her on the Hiroki 2k first attempt. Sometimes it feels like the game knows how to keep you playing after you've been screwed on a few previous banners in a row.
Honestly I think you should go with Alstoria and Celes since we don't know when the FFVI collab is coming back again and you can always wait one or two months for the global festivals. Aim for Celes, and if you get her early, go for Ibara/VC and slow build them. The GLEX still has about 20 days left, so you got enough time to save and pull
I literally had already done like 3 pulls for Joker and randomly decided this morning after farming up, to do one more pull on Esther (full step up with no luck). She popped on the last unit and I couldn’t believe it. Already 115 now lol.
Yooo we had the same luck! I also didn't get her on the 9 step and then got her 2nd step of the fest banner, did 10k for her VC and at that point I had 160 medals. Then I wanted to pity Ibara but I didn't realize like you pointed out that I could have pulled for Ibara's VC and get the medals there so instead I bought the global fest banner tickets with the awakening materials in the shop with paid vis to get to 200 medals and pity Ibara. It's kinda sad I overlooked Ibara's VC, but getting esther, her VC and Ibara for around 36k vis is good enough value for me. So props to gumi this time for making the pity system a little more pleasant 😂
Get Celes now and enjoy her. Stock up mindpsheres. Ibara and Elena will come back 3 or 4 more times before Celes comes back once. Special circumstances but, they have appeared twice during the duration on 6 already lol.
I was in the same situation as you and I went with getting Esther shards and her VC shards with tokens. Getting Ibara was tempting but I have my eyes on a few P5 units as well as Astoria. Global festival units come back fairly regularly so I am not that worried. Who knows when FF6 will be back though. Good luck on your pulls if you are going for Celes!
I was a pretty big aquatic animal in FFBE (I still play it here and there) and I think the game wanted to pay me back...I got esther on the first step, and also her VC on the first step! I'll take it FFBE, but I still think I spent too much in your game lol
Best bang for your buck would be to pity Ibara. You’d end up with 3 global fest units and 2 VCs for the cost of 1 pity’d unit. Given any other circumstance, you would be thrilled with that value. Also, can always wait for the Monday morning news drop. Astrius looks great, but could get nerfed by Esther.
Really wanna try a rainbow team with Esther and Celes. Celes has the AOE magic absorption and magic is Esther's weakness. Maybe someone can suggest good VCs for that combo
My earth team is also pure sh&t. Good news is that I have 600+200 UR Zazan shards. I hope I pull him tomorrow during my 9-Step pull for Esther. I have enough for pity, so just chiiiiiill.
If you're short on blossoms, there's an additional six blossoms for 10 medals each in the unit medal shop. I would go for those before using the rest on unit/VC shards if you take that direction.
I guess my question with Ibarra is how fast would you be looking to build her and her vision card out to max? Would you be looking to throw her in a team before the inevitable next time the Global fest units return? As others have said, yes FF6 will get a rerun at some point BUT how far in the future do you have to go? And what if it's Strago and Umaro instead of Edgar and Sabin?
I always find my luck is better when I pull on different days and even then if it's being difficult the next banner I pull at is really lucky. IDK it shouldn't matter but pulling a bunch in a row has never worked for me.
im crying i used 18k vis on my acc with max ibara and charlotte and didnt get nothing and a combined 80k vis over all my acc and still didnt get her. ive never felt so bad for people who had to go to pity before. i usually get the character within the first 6 pulls on step banners and now i feel the pain... good luck to anyone who pulls youll need it.
will the bingo board for earth zazzan return if you pull him for the first time? it seems that elena and ibarra's bingo board are the only global first bingo board available every update :(
Id say pity Ibara and get her card, but dont need to rush max them out to save Vis. Any competitive account should have a Celes imo, but if your account arent competitive, she's not that necessary. Also dont forget to set aside 10k vis for upcoming AGI Lightning VC if you are making lightning team.
Considering how long the FFT units have gone without a rerun, I'd grab Celes now. The Fest units are guaranteed to come back, so getting Ibara should be easier.
I also have ester/Esther got her mid way snd her VC too. So i have 150 medals right now. Should I pull some more to get the ticket and get Elena to pair her with locke Or should I stop and wait for astrius. I'm in this dilemma too.
Nerd Night I will tell you this, I was able to hit 120 on Terra, Locke, Celes thanks to your advise. I still have 64 k free visore I do have 120 Cloud and 99 Charlotte so do you think I should pull Esther and her vision card?
Tough spot. Value from 38k is insane. Two 100 cost units and their VCs. That's less than a normal pity. But then you are committing a goo bit of your vis to building all of that up. However, I would lean toward calling it a day, build Esther and VC on the cheap, and shoot for Celes/Astoria, since Celes does not require her own card.
Was able to get Esther and her VC fairly easily. Real strapped for vis but I should be able to max both thankfully. One issue, I guess you van say, is which element I should concentrate on. Overall I'd say Light is my top as I have Yuna, Starlight Elena, Fina, Jayden, Locke and Englebert with all but Englebert maxed. I also have most of the light VC though I'm missing Bahamut and Carbuncle. Thing is...... I find the light domination BORING!!!!! And really don't want to contribute to that. Lightning and Wind are my next best with Cloud, Charlotte , Fredy all maxed with hopefully a maxed Esther on the way. Plus all of the VCs maxed. No magic unit though. Wind is Moore the Merrier, HLeela, Tifa and Jueme all maxed and all the VCs maxed. Which would you recommend?
Great vid! Congrats on getting Esther! I had to go through pitty but managed to get Ibara, Duane, finally Esther on the way up and as bonus exchange the medals for Zazan! Now in saving mode hopefully getting some vis in case I had to pitty Astrius, do you happen to know when his banner will arrive? Keep the great work!

Pity Ibara and slow build. As you plan to go all in next time ff6 around, you may pull celes along the way. While Ibara you would have to try from scratch all over again, when instead you would be able to pity her just with medals on hand after getting the VC.

Really tough call. Not sure on your water cards but Celes+AST would be a safer bet. She is a ridiculously good tank.

If you have skahal done you can skip ibara her self wish upon a demon is one great card if you can spike it since it's a dual banner
Roll for Celes first, then re evaluate the cost of building her and Esther
Esther seems to be as good as GL Zazan
I would pull the ibara card and pity ibara then slow build her.
I say get celes cause she is limited. Ibara will come back with her vision card or just get the character you want the most!
