- VALORANT are releasing the new Champions 2023 Vandal, and in this video I'm comparing it to the Champions 2021 Vandal, to see which is better. These two skins have a lot of similarities obviously since they're both apart of Champions Bundles, but they definitely have their differences too.

Man I like the 2023 visuals, but the 2021 kill audio, the music, the finisher with Brim being crushed by the weight of the world from the “Die for you” music video is so cool.
The color pallet for the finisher is INSANE.
People say it’s bland but I think it represents champions best.
It for one literally says it on the gun and has VCT markers on it.
And it’s a very clean look.

in what way does the 2021 vandal capture a "champion" better than the 2023 vandal? what feeling does the 2021 one even give off that has to do with winning the champions? if you were to win any tournament would you not feel emotional and feel like you're the main character in this world? because thats exactly what the 2023 vandal is giving off

Most my finishers are in spots I can’t see the crowd because map walls are too high.
My other problem is that the crowd feels anticlimactic, I understand the somber music… but I’d prefer the gun hype me for the NEXT round.
I haven’t won/lost yet till the games over. And that somber music doesn’t quite fuel it for me.
But the out of crowd view it does this.
Plus this songs finisher music IMO is better than the Phantoms from last year.
The 2021 color palette is CRAZY.
It’s Dark, The blood red sky, with the green hue.
The planet Brims holding up is falling apart with chunks falling from the sky.
The gun glows contrasting all that darkness while flashing “Champions” in the center.
The gun basically calls YOU a champion. With an absolute slapper of a song to tie it all together.
I don’t know what more you can ask for. This gun makes you feel awesome when you clutch up.

You cant deny that the 23 vandal takes the cake for visuals. Its way more detailed. Kill sound goes to the 21 vandal but the shooting sound goes to the 23. Literally any other sound is better than the default sound. As for the inspect, its a matter of preferance; depends on which song you like more. The 23 finisher is definitely the best in the game. Way more work put into it and the way your agent shows up on screen is just fire.
Personally I do like the 2023 better and do plan on buying it, the only thing that kinda sucks about it imo is that it plays the music (albeit quitely) while you're just shooting. Not for a kill, not at the end of the round, just for shooting, and that's kinda distracting.
I mean, there’s so much going on for 2023, really messy. Champs 21, Prime, Araxys, Forsaken, etc are popular because they’re just clean. I won’t be surprised if no one sees Champs 23 vandal around after 3 months

@@Mayhaps-a-turtle it is literally not, it only has a simple kill effect that evry single vandal has, even more simple than most other skins. And the shooting sound is also less prominent than some others.
I really really like the finisher on the new one , ur icon is showed up and the music when u are underneath is so relaxing .
The 2023 finisher really makes you feel like a champion 🔥

2023 has shooting fx but a slightly pitched default vandal kill sound
dang i just realized the champions 2023 finisher is the crowd cheering you on and the music changes more heartfelt kinda beautiful
One problem with the 2021 is you basically just never see the full finisher. Overall, 2023 vandal is better hopefully (doubt it) they maybe change the kill sound but with how the current knife is doubt it.
For real man, they made it way too long to come out

For the 2023 finisher you dont need to look up unlike the 2021 to activate the after animation. Just standing in the Spotlight will activate the crowd cheering animation which I think is way cooler.

Overall, Champs 2023 is theoretically better design wise and has more animations. But something about the Champs 2021 vandal just feels more prestigous and fitting for the 'Champions' scene, Its simple, and has a thrilling kill sound and finisher.
Either way, both skins are absolutely incredible,.

I will never take a vandal skin with default sound effect, that sound stuns me for sure, and my kda with soft firing sounds like prime/araxis is always better because of that

The Shooting sound of 2023 Champions Vandal is kinda similar to that of Oni Vandal shooting sound.
When you go in the 2023 vandal finisher it feels like you won a clutch and its very good
I wish the 2023 vandal inspect had the same song as the finisher or at least a different piece from ticking away as I think the song is an absolute banger

the kill/ace sound of the 2021 was way more unique and satisfying to hear I think that's the only thing (for me) that makes the 2021 ver than the 2023 one
but overall the 2023 was the best by far...
2021 kill sound alone is enough for me to say it’s better. The kill sound for the new vandal almost sounds like default and you can’t even hear it if there is a lot of background noise.

you clearly weren’t around the hype of the first champions which is champions 2021. Die for you is one of the hardest music videos I’ve seen in my life, and everyone was RAVING over it. That champions song > everything
I like vandal champions 2023, but 2021 is still good I like the ace sound more, the kill banner, the finisher, and what I like the most is the music
i do like the 2021 vandal simply because it was the first champions skin, though i do still plan to get new champions because i have all the other champions stuff already and it would be weird for myself to not get this one too
The Song is so good this year and I just love the end of the Finisher where the song gets quiet and when everything gets so peaceful and chill
Kill sounds and end kill visual/music is INFINITELY better than 2023. Kind of disappointed in the 2023 vandal tbh. End animation loads too slow and if you're running to catch the end where you stand in the middle it'll take a bit.

I like the 21 vandal a lot better actually, but missed to buy it. Even when I don't like this skin as much, I'm not doing the mistake again. At least not if I don't have to buy the knife

As a 2021 and 2023 vandal owner i can confidently say there needs to be something revolutionary to ever beat 2021 vandal
For the first-ever and original to start it all off. I'd take it over the new one. The new one is a bit over hyped and the song they made alongside isn't as good (though I do like the piano break-down when you step into the light which has a weird melancholic tone). Maybe in 20 years they remake the OG, I'd buy it, sadly missed out on it
I’m pretty late but let me tell you I loved the 2021 vandal it’s finisher was so good that I loved it , the song just SLAPS the hardest from valorant , 2023 song doesn’t even compare
I think 23 vandal is better but the knife killed the bundle. They were so lazy for not making a new inspect animation for this knife. Being a kunai was a great idea and it does look good visually but default inspect animation its too much for me, not buying just because of that. But I'm getting the vandal if we can buy it separetly

2 questions
1. Doest the 2023 finisher extends the timer, so you can hear the full song?
2. So champions aura/glow is there even if you arent top fragging, but instead for every kill you get more of those colorful lines?
1. No, the timer is the same
2. Champions aura is only the gold glow around the edge of the skin, and it is only there when you're top fragging. The colourful lines in the middle of the skin are a separate thing, and you get one new line per 3 kills
1. I don't think it'll extend the timer, I think it will be just like the previous champions skins
2. Champions aura is still only there when you're top fragging. But yes you'll get those colorful lines after every kill thresholds, just like the 2022 phantom
One more thing the champion aura used to be a gold line around the skin but this one has a purple fire-y effect to the outline.

Just simple details like the lightning striking down upon a player and details like those are what makes 2021 vandal the best vandal in the game
I love this years Champions Vandal, I just don't like how similar the kill sound is when compared to the default kill sound, as you pointed out in the video. Other than that, everything is great about it, definitely going to buy.

The blue yellow glowy theme fits my Killjoy a lot so even though I barely play anymore it's a buy for sure. Afterall it is also to support the Teams and I am certainly gonna watch VCT

I like the 2023 Vandal but the finisher music for the 2021 Vandal is something else.
I would say both are equal to me. 2023 is cooler in most aspects, but the "Die for You" audio on 2021 hits so damn hard it equals it out for me.
There work so much on the inside of the finisher at last but we get only 2,3 sec to look at that after that next round begins rapidly than what is that use of.
2023 one just feels like lite version of prime vandal.

over all champs 2021 vandal wins with 3/5 against 2023's vandal with 2/5, but i think i personally like the 2022 phantom the best out of all the champions skins and the 2021 knife out of all champions knifes

Honestly I feel like the 2023 vandal is better for inspecing. I say this because while inspecting, while you can hear the champions theme your agent is moving his/her arms in synch to the song and makes it look like your agent is vining with the song.

2021 is default with just a skin but its first VCT skins which in my opinion is rarest than other skins
I prefer the champions 2023 Vandal because it has a reallly clean design and animations.

Valo headshot sound is so weird. Imagine hitting a human head and it sounded like you hit KAY/O.
they could have done better in champions 2023 vandal inspect animation. the champion'21 vandal has an animation where the song gives a strong bass feel. meanwhile champions'23 gives nothing but song. i wish they make the tiny lights animation while inspecting the weapon on champions'23. that would have been enough.

peronsally i donmt care about the glowing or the finisher , for me its only how the skin looks 20% and 80% how it sounds when you shoot , i have all champion skins and i regret the 2021 tbh cz the sounds its too default , this year is fire how it sounds its so unique , just the knife its a let down
