*Looked at a lot of options for getting my **Latest.Bike** . Great find in SAVA. Super light, nice components, really good value as it comes with many options only found in much higher priced bikes.*
That smile at 2:41 hits my heart. That feeling of meeting your bike for the first time is priceless. I really don't think that smile ever really goes away every time you glance at a bike you love so much. It made me look at mine next to me and smile. : )
I'm 29 years old and haven't ridden a bike in several years. I just bought my first fixie and got that little kid smile on my face as I rode it for the first time today. I'm riding it with a free gear for now so I can get comfortable on a bike again.
Notice I didn't write fixie anywhere in my comment. But actually calling a fixed gear a fixie bugs me pretty bad. I consider a cheapo bike with a flip flop hub, a fixie. A fixed gear bike is a bike that only has a fixed gear on the hub. So technically the bike I was referring to when I wrote that would be a fixie. I now also own a pretty nice fixed gear bike.
"i just bough my first fixie...riding it with a free gear for now" Nuff said, but i'll continue anyway a fixie is bike that doesn't coast, flip flop or not. You can weld a freewheel and seize it and it'll still be a fixie. You can ride a flip flop and until you flip the flop its a fixie. Until you flop it back it isn't. Its a description first and formost of its functionality.
Ahhh this video brings soo many good memories of riding bikes in the Japanese countryside. I was born, raised, and live in LA but I go to Japan to see my relatives for 2 to 3 weeks every year and I would go again a million more times before going anywhere else. The people are so friendly, the country is beautiful, and my best memories are from my trips to Japan. Can't wait to go next summer!
Riding bicycles saves the world a little at a time!!! I love the bike and the small blue handlebars, nothing wrong with taking pride when building a bike from scratch. Nice!!!!
Man im 36 and i still ride my bikes 24-7 "got 4, Skyway TA 1985 bmx, principia rsl road bike 2012, custom old school bmx inspired single speed & specialized hardrock 2011 MTB" Do what you like, whatever put a smile on your face, have fun enjoy life and smile all the way!!! Never give up the things that you like and love!!!
What a fantastic video and thank you so much for posting it! Wasn't she pleased with all your hard work? A fabulous fixie for a very happy girl...well done!
Awesome video! When I saw their homemade headset press tool made from washers nuts and all thread I laughed. thought I was the only one who did that. $500 for a Park press is ridiculous!
how the hell did i get so obsessed about fixed gear ? i saw one today at a shop and it was love at first sight. i been watching videos and websites about them for the last 7 hours! ☺
Because paint holds better on even an primer coating on a fresh steel surface. Plus painting over existing paint just increases your chances dramatically of rusting since the existing paint will already have dirt in and on it. Doesn't matter what quality paint you are using for color on a bike frame anyways. Even if it's a powder coat on a fresh primer with countless clear coat, it will all scratch eventually.
I love this vid, the look on her face is priceless , I miss my fix gear maybe one day I will buy or build another one , nice work on the finish product
+1 for the front brake. I used to ride a BMX with no front brake when I was younger, I thought it was good enough. But nowadays I have gained a respect the front brake.
you are 20 years old and you going to find out all kinds of rad stuff about life pretty soon. #1 Be yourself. If you wanna ride bikes, you will meet an awesome girl who is into the same thing. Stay true and everything else will fall into place man.
And yes, I have brakes! Minoura make a nice handlebar mount that'll let you bolt a water bottle cage to, as fixie frames don't have braze-ons for such things.
In urban environment, you don't need more than one gear. I tried riding a 27-speed mountain bike in the city and I noticed I was rarely ever shifting so that's why I decided to get a single-speed bike. No maintenance and you will be a lot fitter because you have to climb the hills with the same gear you use on everything else. Just perfect.
Front brake provides 70% of braking power while rear only provides 30%. Those who flip over using a front brake just don't know how to use it. If you're afraid of flying over the bars, just lean back abit to keep your center of gravity.
If I were you, I would get a motorcycle. You'll be faster than your friends and their cars, plus you'll have that feeling of being free on a bike. And the power is a big bonus.
I am a bit older than you 92draw. I stopped riding for those reasons and when I bought a car I spent all of my savings to fix it up. After parking, gas, insurance, and everything else, I was left with no money. The woman who I love knows that I don't like cars for that reason and also because when I was a child I was in a lot of accidents with other people behind the wheel. She will never ride bikes with me because she likes to drive. My friends don't ride with me. I ride alone; liberating.
Nice video. Be careful or you might give fixie riders a good name! Fixed gear bikes can give you a good workout; have to stand up to climb the hills and spin like mad, down them. A good go between hub is the SRAM Torpedo. With a few turns of a screwdriver you can go to single speed freewheel to fixed. A bit safer for me, as after a couple miles the roads are more open and I switch to fixed gear. A little lash in the hub, but it's fine for me.
No man your okay, don't listen to all these haters here on you tube. It's just that it has become real popular over the past couple years and so people who don't understand it have to dis on it but its really cool and fun and you will meet a lot of people that like to ride and ride a lot.
thats alright. I'm in college and when an idiot car driver ran a stop sign and wrecked my 18 speed mtn bike i realized i needed something cheap and easy to fix. $99 wal mart fixed gear. just threw on some pedals and heavy duty tubes and this thing rules. I luv fixie now.
Nice bikes, couldn't help but notice not one going 'alpha' and rocking no hand-breaks. Been riding downtown T.O. brake-less fixie, only way to go IMHO, helps to when you are fishing through traffic. Hard to explain and it takes a while to be competent with one but when you are it is like you are a jedi or something. cheers.
You sir, have nothing to fear. Cars can be far worse mechanical nightmares than bikes and you have plenty of time to get the girl. As a gent of the same age, I can assure you people will call you childish and such. When I made this account, it was under my skin. Trust me, keep biking. Bike to work for as long as you can, eventually get a car. And the kicker for biking and getting girls- cycling regularly yields a nice butt, which girls appreciate. (At least mine does. XD) keep it up!
i've been seeing more and more of these fixie videos here on youtube. and the rputation seems well deserved lol. i had some cheap bmx knock off when i was a kid, and the gear was exactly the same as these fixies. but i cant see myself at 32 years of age trying to hop of curbs, or popping wheelies with my fixed gear. btw, my tires were white and red, i went to walmart and got black ones, lol.
It doesn't matter it's a good trend to follow what do u gain from it? Healthier bodies, no cars, no gas pollution, more money saved more positive then negative I just wish everyone would follow not just hipsters!.
a feather was my first fixed ride too ;) that track geo is quite the nuisance on the streets though since all I do is clip my pedals onto the ground while turning from the low bb drop
Rear braking is safer if there's a risk of losing traction on the front wheel or going over the bars: steep hills, rain, corners, etc. Otherwise, front braking is way more powerful and far safer than using the rear.
Riding any bike is my freedom. I started when I was about 4 years old and now I am 60, and the fun has never left.
*Looked at a lot of options for getting my **Latest.Bike** . Great find in SAVA. Super light, nice components, really good value as it comes with many options only found in much higher priced bikes.*
I just love how much love and passion they put in building this bike
That smile at 2:41 hits my heart. That feeling of meeting your bike for the first time is priceless. I really don't think that smile ever really goes away every time you glance at a bike you love so much. It made me look at mine next to me and smile. : )

I don't get the gears things can u change gears?
+o k single gear on fixie bikes.
not a fixie then. singlespeed, common mistake (that happens to bug me pretty bad)

This made me smile. I hope they are all still riding together.
I have mostly mountain bikes.. but this is an amazing fixed gear video. Shows how any bike can put a smile on someone's face...
The smile of that girl when she sees her bike is priceless

this video is so relax..
such a sick video. love watching the work that goes into building from the ground up. makes me want to strip mine down again and rebuild just for fun
But what? oO
If you can't ride fixed. In this case.. it is stupid to ride fixed.
Fixies are fun ,but fun is great...
But is given away to a newbie girl who did not even lift a finger to make it.
@@stevenkimdmd lmao why so mad
@@stevenkimdmd women do live in easy mode huh
I used to watch this all the time. Where have the years gone?

This is by far the most kind comment I have ever read on youtube!
Not only that, but it's also some of the best advise I have heard in a while.
I brought my first ever bike almost 1 year ago. A year later I can honestly say its the best thing I've ever owned, I love my bike.
What a fantastic video and thank you so much for posting it! Wasn't she pleased with all your hard work? A fabulous fixie for a very happy girl...well done!
Wow haven't seen this in years, its like fine wine.

Best fixed video in asia ! The rest are full of tricks(some)...just go fast and ride the waves!
Mista _Wo thanks!!!
fixed gear videos are the best when theyre day in the life like this. You edited the cutting of clips on the drops of the song perfectly. love it.
This is a nice looking build!!! And what a great build-up video!!!
how the hell did i get so obsessed about fixed gear ? i saw one today at a shop and it was love at first sight. i been watching videos and websites about them for the last 7 hours! ☺

the yellow bike at the end was GORGEOUS !
It gave me goose bumps when she saw it. Very cute.
Nice! Getting the ladies on bikes one build at a time. I love it!

best present ever!!
Jst started cycling again on my new fixed gear after 30 over years non cycling
One word to describe ... Smiling 😊

Great video . I love fixed gear bikes so simple and fun
Great video, makes me want to learn the craftmanship
One of the best videos on TH-cam.

Fuji Feather...one of the best bikes ever made !! hi from New Zealand :)
Yeah this bikes are quite fun and simple to maintain; love mine that I recently got.
Bike. Definitely keep biking, you'll be more awesome than the general population and you'll be more healthier.
damn, started Cycling in 2018 with my MTB, then 2 months ago I got my Fixed Gear, and I really glad I did it, really love it

Very inspiring video, I just took a 3:34 trip, a beautiful trip :)
Building is as fun as riding a fixie if u have a creative mind, thats the magic of custom fixed bikes
I'm in love with this- there is no better way to spend your twenties.
지금봐도 대단합니다. 진짜 픽시같은 느낌.. 今見てもすごいです、、好きな動画。
That bike came out really nice, bad ass!

That was a very cool video!
all parts is secondhand (men always have an ulterior motive...)

Que lindo video. Me dejo una buena sensación. Aún existen buenos sentimientos en las personas.
the title tells u that u can have loads of fun but the work that goes into them is alot
This is pretty cool. He did all this, just for a friend. Makes me smile :)
Yes. And so would any track racer. There is a reason none of them use a freewheel, and it's not just regulations.

Moving there in a couple years with my girlfriend, I can't wait to start riding in Japan.
True friendship and love, thats whats it is.
Top stuff..really impressed with the rebuild, building a subrosa fixie myself...ride on ;)
i love my fixie i have had it for a month and i ride it everywhere
it may not look pretty yet but it sure rides amazing:)
I'M FROM ITALY. THIS VIDEO IS WONDERFUL....
Good job!!! I like the colors used
Great video! Congrats on the bike!
Love the cinematix
That was so inspiring. I don't even know why. I just want to go do something nice for somebody now.

she likes it home made. i think thats the best way to build a bike, at home.
Yes, please keep doing your right things!
