I've loved Anti-Flag for such a long time. I saw them for the first time in the summer of 2001 when i was in highschool. They had a pretty unique sound, at least compared to all of the other punk bands i was familiar with. Undeground network and a new kind of army were in my cd player constantly. Just heard about the allegations... surely i believe in being treated as innocent until proven guilty but the sheer volume of allegations is deafening. And there is no way that the other band members and tour mstes didn't know a single thing. Crazy... this band write ballads for the disenfranchised, the beaten down underdogs... turns out they were likely the oppressors all along. Never meet your heroes is what they say... now I know why.
I'm glad y'all are still making music with a message, I've been listening to y'all since I was a teen and now I'm sharing y'all with my kids. Punk never died, we just got older

A year ago to this date I was sitting on the side of the road homeless wondering how I was gonna make it more importantly how I was gonna take care of my sons, this song dropped and as soon as I heard this I pulled myself up and did everything I could now we have a home but if it not for this song I wouldn’t have lost even more.
This song is timeless....when my husband died, this song first came out....when my son died last year, this is the only song that kept me alive.....thank you for singing such a timeless balm for one's soul!

Coheed & Cambria was always an interesting band too. They been dropping new content too, and recently. Heavy EDM spin on the sound too. Thrice is a fun band also. They are kinda weird now (in a good way). Almost folk mode instead of metal/emo/hardcore whatever. IronMaiden is another band that is probably better now than they ever were. Specifically the "Writing on the Wall" song + the music video. I love seeing when classic bands find new sound.

Anti-flag is always making great music. The first time I listened to this song was bringing my kids to school and 5 year old daughter started singing the never ever part.

Last month I got to see Anti-Flag play a show with Bad cop Bad cop and a few other bands in Portland, super cool to see them release a song featuring Stacey
That show at the Crystal Ballroom was great! Two weeks prior I caught Me First and the Gimme Gimmes at the Roseland Theater and Stacey was on guitar, first female ever to play in that band. Another fantastic show!
@@NobleKale and this right here is the longterm tragedy. aside from the obvious harm justin's behavior has caused, his personal failing is now going to be used to taint their legacy and invalidate the decades of good messaging and radicalization towards actual good positions and solutions. every anti-flag video on here has posts from the last few months from rightwing nazipunks, magachuds saying "Woke" anti-flag finally revealed their true colors and revelling in their schadenfreude, and comments like yours essentially, whether intentionally or not, dismissing the band's legacy due to Justin, all crawling out of the woodwork. if you wanted to dismiss them before, you had to nitpick over electoralism, advocating for property damage, etc., you had to object to either their music itself, or some element of their political message. but from now on there's always going to be the easy cheat code for the bad faith critic, always someone to say "f*ck those guys, their frontman's a f*cking r@pist", and that alone is going to be used to avert potential new listeners and silence the message they actually stood for. this is exactly why they split when the drama broke, because they knew that justin had tainted their optics and message beyond repair through his ethical and moral failings, and they would never again be able to be heard for just their message, because people can't separate the art from the artist. not arguing whether they should separate or not, just pointing out that they can't/won't and that has an effect of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. and unfortunately we're the only one's who do this. the rightwingers never have this issue because they lack scruples to begin with, and most other genres aren't idealistic enough to care. i mean, the age of "Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll" was full of this kind of shit, but despite the under stage midshow groupie orgies, people still listen to def leppard. despite the fact that jimmy page engaged in a longterm kidnapping/illegal relations with an underaged girl, people still listen to led zeppelin. people still listen to sting and the police despite "Don't stand so close to me" literally being a true story about how sting lost his job as a substitute teacher for taking advantage of a student. despite the fact he was a fascist sympathizer, people still appreciate Dali's artwork. don't even get me started on johnny rotten turning into human excrement and people still listening to the sex pistols. it's unfortunate, since late anti-flag was just poppy enough to be accessible to the mainstream consumer, and the early stuff was raw enough to really make a difference in that listeners' headspace. Justin's BS has robbed us of a powerful megaphone, and tainted decades of good work. the totality of how badly he f*cked EVERYTHING up is beyond expression, and the cascade effect is unfortunate. between being a R@pe goblin, breaking up the band, and tainting their legacy, i honestly want to put him in traction, but i'm not going to stop listening to or recommending their music to others, because the message is still valid and i hope can still move some minds, despite his hypocrisy and degenerate actions.
