- The summertime can be very productive or you can go out and catch a skunk fairly easily. I will be honest my summer has been slow with the Hocking River being high most of the summer. After my trip on the Susquehanna, I came back with a technique that the winner Nolan Minor had used on low and clear river smallies. The Evergreen Gizmo is a very interesting topwater lure and delivered a ton of fun in a small creek here in Ohio. Nolans Channel is linked below and you can see how effective this little bait was at catching trophy smallmouth during the Hobie event.

Aug/Sept I almost exclusively fish the creeks/streams w/ 1 1/2" grasshopper imitation on my flyrod,cross between a popper and hopper w/ a soft foam head...smallies LOVE bugs!

I have to say brother that’s one of the biggest creek chubs I’ve ever seen and when you said he was in Derby Creek I fish derby creek a lot big Derby Lil Darby. I finish them all over even the Hocking river has seen a couple of your videos were use your hockey River. I’ve lost numerous numerous videos of years over and over and over but keep it up man keep doing what you’re doing. Keep up the good work, and I love your videos. I just ordered my kayak tonight so I will pick it up tomorrow and hopefully I’ll get out there on the water a lot more.

Love your videos man I moved to PA about 4 years ago but my mom and dad live in Trenton Ohio there is some awesome creeks around the area during fishing season I'm always making trips to fish with my dad you should join us one day!
I grew up around Trenton!! Love the creeks down that way. Basically cut my teeth not 15 minutes from there. We will have to link up one day

Creek fishing to me is he ultimate test. Clear low water, tight casting windows. If you can be successful in the creek I think you can catch fish anywhere
Awesome video the river I wade here in Illinois this time of the year is low and very clear and it has a lot of rocks and riffles with good current all the time so I always walk up stream so I’m not seen as much. The popper bite can be unbelievable some days along with a Mepps. I just got a couple Gizmos which were hard to find so can’t wait to try them ! Thanks for doing the video !

The hellgramite is my go-to creek lure. I used it the other day and out fished my buddy who was using live worms 😂

This was the day before the rain 😂 it’s very possible to find some fish in muddy water on the river. Just look for Eddie’s and cover.

Depends on what I am doing. Creek fishing calls for a spinning rod although I have been practicing with a casting set up in tight water.

Hello William that is called the evergreen gizmo. Its really hard to find them right now but if you google search it there are plenty of sites you can find em. It's just finding the available ones that is the challenge. I cant even find anymore unfortunately

The closest river to us is probably the scioto river in Chillicothe or circleville. But we do have some decent creeks around here!

@@nathantillis7785 I was actually in a kayak tournament. Didnt do great tourny wise but caught a ton of 11-11.75 inch bass. I did manage 4 keepers though and a solid 15.5 smb. Overall I enjoyed it and definitely want to go back

This is the type of channel I've been searching for! I prefer a nice creek to anything but I struggle unless with jigs & worms, always use spinners, cranks, top or worms. Need to update my skills. Best part is your not far so what works for you should at least help me out. WV creeker.

Owner football finesse EWG. A quick google search will find em! They are definitely my favorite hook to use for the leech and Hellgrammite.

Nice video. I do the exact same up North here with the creek/river wade. Chagrin/Grand and a bunch of little tribs. The fishing this time of year is amazing! I absolutely love how you are more excited about an 8 inch or less smallmouth than some bigger ones! Just love river/creek n it and ti.es out. Keep up the good work.

Watched the same vid and bought the gizmo while watching it. Never seen anything like it. My only complaint is, I bought a black one and they sent me a white one. Still hits fish. Went to order the black again, and “out of stock”. Hard to get. Cheers 🍻
