    Thank you for this explanation. I was legit trying to go straight up through the bar because I didn’t know any better. You’re the first one I’ve seen mention swinging instead of just ‘practicing over and over again’ until I can do a muscle up.

    • @ragegaze3482
      @ragegaze3482 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      to be fair, swinging is actually an easier form since it uses momentum, you should be able to do it from a standstill ideally. it's just much harder to do, like if you look at chris heria do one, he has no swing at all and goes straight up, that's proper form.

  • @xanhhang9023
    @xanhhang9023 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Pre step 1: lower the bar and star from there until you get the form down. Once that becomes natural then raise the bar a little at a time until you can do the full range of motion

    Yeah I could do 20 pull-ups but not a muscle up and I didn’t understand why. It didn’t look too hard and I knew I was strong enough but I did exactly what you showed at the start. So I hope this helps.

    You really made an amazing video! You brought out the points in a concise way, and chunked it into bits so that it's easier to process. Absolutely love this, keep it up!

    Most muscle up videos miss one thing for people who have been training this movement and cant do it. This video is no exception

    I used to be able to do 5-8 without kipping but 4 years later tried to do one again today and couldn't do it even though I've continued doing back exercises (but not weighted pull ups likeni used to). Thanks ill try this method. Part of it is mental, part of it is strength based of course. The mental part is you need to get used to the movement so practicing a low bar helps

    Facts. Just figured out how to do them this week and realized they actually aren’t that hard. I could already do 23 pull-ups and was confused why I couldn’t do a single muscle up😂
