    Motormouth has the Jeep Gladiator for a couple car review. This mid-sized pickup truck is different than the Jeep Wrangler, it has a longer wheelbase and is much longer overall. What the Jeep Gladiator and the Jeep Wrangler have in common is a high price tag to get all this coolness in one vehicle. The Jeep Gladiator is sold with a 3.6L V6 or a 3.0L EcoDiesel but the diesel version does not offer more towing capacity but slightly better fuel economy. Both the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator lack some basic standard features like heated seats and steering wheel. In addition the options can add up, our test unit is well over $70,000 and that is without the $7300 diesel option. The inside of the Jeep Gladiator has the same dash and features of the Wrangler and boast best-in-class rear seat legroom with folding rear seats for more lockable storage. The Jeep Gladiator is sold with a 5-foot bed and attitude is standard along with 4X4 ability. The Mojave edition is new for 2021 with bigger wheels, Fox shocks and more.

    Just remember to be real with yourself when it comes shopping for a Gladiator. Ask yourself important the important questions. Do I need a mojave or Rubicon? Majority can say no. I knew my crazy wheeling days are over and went with a well equipped Sport S. I added a small lift with Rubicon shocks and wheels/tires. Did that for under 48k cdn. 8 speed auto, cold weather, tow package, hardtop, 7” screen, remote start and bedliner. Another thing, these trucks turn heads! I go and get gas and people stop to ask about it. They genuinely love it and so do I!

    I would spend that money. I was considering it. Then I came across someone that used their Jeep as a Jeep and FCA (also/maybe just the dealer) voided their warranty. Then came across many more people experiencing the same thing. Not people who, momentarily, repurposed their Jeep as a submarine. Just used them in a way that you'd assume you could.

    I really like the look of the Gladiator, but from what I recall, a similarly equipped Ram Rebel or Laramie comes in around the same price when all options are added in (and wait for the big discounts for Ram that always happen). The Ram rides better, and is just a better deal if you really need a truck.

    You don't have to pay $60K-$70K for a Gladiator. Skip the Rubicon and Mojave trims, as well as most of the other trims. I bought a Sport S with a 3 piece hardtop, automatic, the packages that come with all the power windows and door locks as well as the heated seats and heated steering wheel and the tow package. Got it all for $39K. I've added a tonneau cover, bedrug for rear bed, Rubicon rock rail takeoffs, Wrangler Rubicon 33" wheels with Falken Wildpeak M/T tires for another $2200 and it rocks, I just ordered my tube doors and sunscreen and the only thing left to order is a headliner and cab cover and I'm set. All that will be another $1100. So for under $42,500 I have a loaded Gladiator, the baddest looking mall crawler around.

GM and Toyota even offer longer boxes and two can configurations. FYI, it’s wheelbase is longer than a Suburban!

    The cost of the diesel is expensive because of your Canadian government taxes. Don't blame Jeep. If you upgrade the brakes, trailer brake controller from Jeep, along with putting air bags on the Gladiator allows you to tow much more. In the states, its normal (here in Virginia Beach, Virginia) to get 4000 dollars off sticker to help offset any accessories or the diesel option. The diesel option is superior if you plan to add larger tires (37 inch), lift the machine( 3 1/2 inch clayton), and add any overlanding, or camping equipment etc. and yes. I got one of each, The Wrangler Rubicon diesel, and Gladiator Rubicon Diesel. They are addictive machines. I did have to get rid of my wife to make this happen. I prefer the Gladiator. More useful and easier to justify the Diesel engine.

    I’m a huge Jeep fan (a YC Sahara, a YJ Islander, a Cherokee Ltd. and a Briarwood). Not the best used vehicles to buy, but as 2nd vehicles they can be cheap, unique and exciting purchases... albeit somewhat unreliable (I was licensed apprentice mechanic). But at $73,500 (+ 15% tax = over $83,000). ...that works out to over $1,400 a month (over 5 yrs. $0 down - no other options (extended warranties)). Who the Hell makes enough to afford that!?!?! ... Other than Politicians! And people think that owning a 5-series, A6’s or E-class’s are expensive. This Jeep is just a mediocre pickup with some cool “Transformers” tricks. What a deal they will be in 3-5 years! Thanks for a shocking video.

    Consider yourselves lucky pronouncing 50k, 60k, 70k for the price. Mentioning that this truck is expensive; we pay in Turkey 200k USD for this due to massive taxes.

  • @azurearcade342
    @azurearcade342 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    There's so many options for other trucks that are far more reliable long term. I think Jeep did a good job with it overall, but it is not their market and that much is obvious.

    Needs a v8, with the extra power would be a perfect truck, but for the price you can get a fully loaded new or a cheaper used ram 1500 limited/longhorn.

    No airbags for rear occupants. So, puts it out of the running for families. People say that it’s hard to do with the roll bar and removable doors and roof, but Bronco has rear airbags....
