Finally, a clear and concise video about the egg loop. Thank you.
I immediately improved the looping skill after watching this!!! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks! I just made three leaders for Salmon Row fishing in Anchorage. Saved me 10 buck!!
Great demo. This video is over a year old and TH-cam still puts it first in the search...for a reason. I'll be trying it out soon on some salmon.
Great video, the black background and neon line really set it apart from other similar videos.
The best fishing knot
Thanks man! Awesome simple video, my bait is lasting much longer!
best one yet - really nice with black background and speed of execution was perfect
That was by far the best explanation I have ever seen of how to tie the egg loop knot. I needed it to explain to my wife and fishing partner (same person) howto tie the knot. I do appreciate how you took your time explaining as you go. Thank you so much.
That's awesome to hear!!! I'm glad the video could help!!! Thanks for watching and I wish you luck out on the water!!
Your videos and demos are best in class. Thank you!
Thanks man, going salmon fishing for the first time ever so this was a life saver
@@FTWQ true, and personally I thought the tastes pretty good. I’m on the hunt for some unicorns now 😂
I learned something today. Thank you.
thank you so much! very helpful, got the knot down in a few hours. This video deserves a like and a sub!
Thanks for the awesome video, I believe this knot will help me prevent from losing my bait(shrimp, etc..) every time I try to cast. I will sure give it a try next time. Thanks
Thanks a lot I was confused on how to do it but I think I got it now !
Now this is better than the other video of egg loop knot this is much easier version!!
Efficient explanation and great visual elements. Easy to see and follow..thank you!
I like your videos. Especially those videos about rig setups. This is your third egg loop vid! I have a feeling you have a lot more fishing knowledge to share.
Thanks Nick! I'll definitely work on some more rig videos for sure! LOL yes it is my third time doing this one. I've been looking back at my old videos and wanted to make better quality, and more consistent looking videos. So I hope I have accomplished that. 😁😁😁 Anyways, thanks for watching, and thanks for the feedback!!
Best demo I have seen yet. Looked at others, but they weren't clear, views were hidden, and I ended up missing key points.
Thanks for the great explanation. This was definitely the most technically challenging fishing knot I've ever learned, my fingers really hurt afterwards! I know now why they sell these things pre-tied!
Thank you I wasn’t getting it before but now I am getting it
My brother tried showing me this knot, he made it look very confusing. This video helped me a lot!
The easiest way i watch other videos but your was by far the best.Thank you sir
I just tied a few! It’s like 19° out here but the water is open so I grabbed a piece of shrimp and gave my knot a test drive!
I used this method today for catfish using chicken liver and was able to pull out 2 Personal best catfish I've caught so far.. thank you very much this is now my favorite..
Thank you very much ! 💛🍀
Best knot to use, I tie these even when not using bait. My grandfather called it the one hundred and ten, meaning it will one hundred and ten percent not break at the knot. Love it
Couldn't agree more. It is one of my go to knots for most things! I just feel so confident with the knot in the water.
wow thanks for the how to this was super easy to tie!
FINALLY!!! A video I can understand thank you so much!
@@FTWQ looking to try this with chicken liver, I have never used it before, I’ve heard good and heard it comes off the hook easier, I’ll let you know how well this works🙂👍❤️
@@FTWQ it does work well, sorry for the delay in the response but it holds good and did catch a nice cat
Took me a few times but this video helped immensely, thank you very much for taking the time to make it. Tight lines!
Amazing detail, nice and slow. Just intime for this weekend. Thanks for the lesson Sir. 👍🏿👊🏿
GREAT JOB MATE VERY WELL DONE IAM FROM AUSTRALIA TIGHT LINES 🇦🇺 🙂 👍
Perfect presentation! Thanx
Very nice!
That is the easiest way to tie that, that I've seen. Thank you
So can I do this with 1 piece of line not a cut piece or does it go to the swivel …… I like to just use the line without cutting it can this be done ?
Correct, you can only tie it with a cut piece (leader). Then use a swivel, or a line to line knot, to attach it to your mainline.
Well done !!!
Thank you man I just started my 1 time
Think about it since he uses both ends of the line u are gonna need to know the blood knot so u can connect the line
Yep yep, you will need a line to line knot, or a swivel to connect the leader to mainline.
Hey could u like this comment lt would mean a lot to my dad that's in hospis and he used to watch u
Sorry for the stupid question but how do I attach it to the main line? Do I need a swivel or just tie it to the main line?
Not a stupid question at all. You are right on, swivel or a line to line knot like the double uni knot.
Very clear thanks
Nice, this will let me keep chicken livers on my hook for catfish. The bait works I just couldn’t ever get it to stay on my hook.
So I need to cut the leader from the spool before tying the knot right? Great video BTW.
I was just wondering about this. So this is really only applicable to leaders and not tying a hook to your main line... unless you want to do a LOT of unspooling/re-spooling lol
Very helpful indeed thank you brother..
My hook knot of choice.
we used 50lb braid with top 30lb pink coral conected to red hook to bottom fishing rockfish. we caught many fish with no problem.
Just found ur channel n subscribed... easy to follow instructions n illustration 👍👌
if both end are tag ends, whats attached to the reel?
With this knot you are basically tying a hook to a leader. Then you will attach it to your main line with another knot to a swivel, or a line to line knot like the double uni knot. Hope this makes sense!
What line is that?
Looks thick af..
great video 👍🏻🎣
Hahah its actually fly fishing line for demonstration purposes. Wanted to make it really easy to see!
Wonder if there is a way to make it stop sinching, they u can tie a wacky rig strait to a hook
Does this work if the eye is towards the hook?
Добрый день или вечер, хороший узел ,попробую пременить для ловли осетра..., спасибо!!!
How do you keep the line on the pole
With the egg loop knot, a leader has to be used. After you tie the knot on the leader, attach the leader to the main line with a swivel, or with a line to line knot. Hope this makes sense!
..bravo!..speciale ☆ thank you ♡.. #okei
Hey how do u tie the knot to Ur rod tho?
Is it possible to wrap stretchy string around shrimp so it do t fly out
@FTWQ will fish bite up I wanna go surf fishing but if I use a 12 foot rod n toss it far I think the shrimp will fly off
I would use the egg loop as well as the stretchy string. Sometimes that's the risk with fishing bait, but I'm sure the combo of the egg loop and the string will increase your chance of it staying on.
Just updated video for visuals, or any changes compared to your other videos for this knot?
So how do you attach it to your fishing line
You can either use a swivel or do a line to line knot. Something like the double uni knot. I usually use swivels myself.
Ur explanation is simple I've learned this knot 5 different times and it manages to piss me off everytime. But I eventually figure it out after 20 foot of line is waisted
How would the second part work beacuse if your line is on the rod how would you put the other sude of the line throught the eye in confussed
So with this knot you need to cut off a section of leader first and tie the hook to the leader. Once the hook is tied on, you can tie the other side of the leader to your main line. This can be done using a swivel or a line to line knot. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions!
You need to pull the tag end also. The wrap under the eye is loose.
This knot is stronger when you wrap the other direction. Your first loop is laying right in the gap where the eye is formed in the video.
Showing my ignorance but wouldn’t you then have to tie this line to your fishing line so although the hook is secure the line is only as secure as the knot used to connect it to fishing line. Can you show that part
You are exactly right. I guess you can considered this part your leader. Then you will tie to a swivel or use a line to line knot to connect to your mainline. I usually use the Uni Knot for the swivel, or a double uni knot if I'm doing a line to line knot. I personally usually use a swivel to connect to my mainline.
@@FTWQ just watched video on uniknots, look very strong, yet fairly simple to perform. good advice. Thanks
How do you tie that on the actual line tho
You can do it two different ways. You can use a braid to mono/braid to flourocarbon knot.
Or you can use a swivel where this ties to one side of the swivel, and the main line ties to the other side of the swivel.
I hope this answers your question and helps! Let me know!
How is that possible when using a rod?
With this knot you have to tie the hook to your leader first... And then attach the leader to your main line with a swivel or a line to line knot like the Double Uni knot.
???? There's 2 tag ends??? How does it go on my line on my rod?
Yep two tag ends to tie this knot. Then you want to use some terminal tackle, like a swivel, to connect to your mainline. You can also use a line to line knot like the double uni knot. I usually use a snap swivel personally.
Brother brother, barrel swivel, unit to uni. Normally this will egg knot will be mono then attached to braid 😊
Egg loop knot got way TOO many egg loop in it ! I preferred the OVER EASY loop knot ! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Greasy!
Try doing this with 8 pound test most frustrating thing you’ll ever do
Everytime i do this my hook ends up completely sideways
But it's not even tied to the reel??
So with the egg loop knot you need to use a leader to tie the egg loop knot. And then once you have it tied, you tie the leader to your main line with a swivel or a line to line knot.
Cant do it
already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.
There is a much easier egg hook to tie
Never had anyone to learn fishing from. Been doing it myself since I was young. The internet is not always the best way to learn stuff like this, but your videos are perfect. Just as long as it takes to teach the method, never too long. Thank you for helping me on my journey of life man. I, along with many others appreciate the time you take to help teach. CHEERS!
Thank you for the comment! I'm glad the videos could help!!! Cheers!
Well I swear to f****** God thats what I did
Awesome video my bro, thank you for using a Bright braid line that allowed you to show the proper tie method. I learned this a few years ago. Then had a accident at work that caused brain damage and wiped out my memory, then I found your page and I am able to make this knot again. Thank you for your teaching skills
Yes seriously! You and I are very similar I enjoy his videos to learn from
