I would delete before the warranty is up. Nothing is going to break on a L5P that would be covered by warranty. They are just too reliable to worry about anything, you do the maintenance on time and follow traffic laws you won't have any problems with the truck for a very long time.
Bought a 2018 Cummins last August. Deleted it four months ago. No regrets. Truck is run on stock tuning because they come with weak clutches in the manual trans. It runs so much better now. Went from 16.6 mpg to about 26 mpg. It only had about 6,000 miles on it and all highway driving. The amount of soot on the grid heater from the egr cooler was horrendous. One look at that when I replaced the intake horn with a Banks Intake horn reaffirmed my decision to do it. I wouldn't wait until your warranty is over.

Are the emissions totally deleted from this truck? No EGR, no DPF, etc ? I want to swap one of these into a '63 Impala, but they aren't very well supported in the aftermarket yet. On a 1963 car, i can get rid of everything that hinders life and performance out of the best Duramax GM has put out so far.

I have a L5P ...deleted..and having the same problem with alternator issues and draining batteries...ask your buddy what fuse was blown and any specific on the fix...I've been working on this issue for weeks...write back here, thanks

I fixed the issue now...it was an issue with the tunes...with PPEI..the fuel injector pump was constantly running and wouldn't turn off when the ignition was off, so it drained the battery...the new tune 1.3.8 version fixed the issue...everything has been great since the fix...hope this helps

I just got a full “weight removal kit” for my 18’ with a dsp5 switch so I can sotf. Egr upgrade kit, 4” straight pipe, downpipe, 5 tunes ranging from 30 to 200hp edge cts3 monitor, all nox plugs for 4800 after I send back my core ecm and tcm, i will be installing it this coming weekend so not able to get honest review yet but I purchased through same day tuning. Good reviews on their Facebook. Check them out.

It costs $5000 to delete the L5P,It's not at all worth it. And theres a few that have delete And the L5P has functional hood scoop.This is the same truck I have and I truly hate it 87k dollar junker. Two years old 82k miles and tranny is slapping, shark fin is leaking in the cab ,DEF shit is clogged and steering box is off, GM will not help me out because I 36k warranty is over..I tow everyday so I work it ,DEF fill is under the hood.. Super Corrosive fluid is under the hood. Very poor design. And the 2019-2020 is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Sad to say this as chevy guy but GM can no longer complete with the Competition,. Their interior is horribly outdated. The power the torque isn't there , They went way above and beyond to make it so we can not tune these trucks.but I guess you have to keep the government happy when they own you

@@alexlopez8512 yes. Catalytic converter is in the downpipe on these trucks. I’m a Cummins guy, so this was news to me. Kind of tedious work I had a shop, replace my downpipe with a 3 inch I believe and she is much louder.

@jae kae I know it is. But if its allison approved and tested obviously it's up to allison's standards so it will be as good as the 6 speed of previous models. (Which I have in a 2013 and it's awesome). They wouldn't just throw their badge on anything. Plus gm makes reliable drive terrains anyways.

Check out Wicked Customs leveling kit. I just installed one on mine with Fox resi shocks and improved the ride dramatically.

The new 10 speed isn’t a true Allison that is what keeps me from buying one.
