Stoked to see/hear the reaction to the tuning on this rig! So happy to have been able to work with y’all on this project. God bless you both, and my utmost condolences to your buddy and his family for their loss. Whenever you wanna tackle the TCM side of things let me know! I got y’all covered! 🤘🏼
My vote is for the 5”. Both sound great but I like the deeper note of the 5”. If you’re looking for a good muffler, definitely check out the AeroTurbine XL to make your road trips better. It’s certainly made a difference on my 6.7 Powerstroke for in cab drone/noise.
Man both sound awesome. I am a new diesel owner, less than a month ago. 2015 crew cab silverado. once my warranty runs out I will be going on a diet and getting a RDS turbo, and other goodies. Love the channel.
I’ve heard a lot of good and bad about the rds 9 blades.. I ordered one recently myself. Still waiting on it to come in. I’ve seen a lot of people say they fail in 6k miles or less. And RDS warranty system isn’t the best. Hoping for the best! Thank you for your videos Josh!! You’ve shown me alot in building on my LMM!!
Of course I love this one when I get done buying my new house in Florida and building my shop I really want to put an RDS turbo on my lmm I love the lmm,s for me it's enough truck and super comfortable to drive love the video Josh as always the best Duramax content on you tube thanks bro!!!!!!
In my opinion the 4" exhaust sounds better. The whistle is higher pitched. And I know what your talking about with the axle dump. I towed our 32' Rv from Ohio to Tennessee with the 5" dump on my 16 LML. Holy Drone. Lol. Half way through the trip I ordered the axle to tip pipe and had it delivered to the campground and installed it there before we left. Huge difference. I want that turbo next. Sounds amazing.
I hear your pain 😂 I had a Cummins 6.7 with a 64&88mm compound, 5 inch turbo back. I drove from Mn to CA and the whistling rang in my ears for a solid month after that trip. I’ve got some clips of it on my Channel.
“Did he know the Lord” That sentence alone made me a new follower of yours, amigo. I enjoy your channel, and I respect your faith. Keep truckin 10-4. 9 blade sounds absolutely insane. Definitely like a jet ready for takeoff. Like honestly no difference at all between a jet and this setup. But I personally think the 9 blade is too much for daily’ng around. Especially if you’re runnin a loaded trailer often. My 6NZ Cat ain’t even that loud under a 84k gross load.
Great vid Josh, thank you for honoring the wishes of the family and also asking about God and knowing that man is resting in Paradise. About to order the same turbo for my LBZ and can’t wait! Another killer vid!
I know where he’s coming from. Being raised a solid Christian my mother succumbed to cancer 2.5 years ago only two days before my father’s Bday. She did the same thing with me older brother, she laid out what she wanted done with her beloved 64.5 GTO. I bet if you asked him, riding/driving the vehicle helps him feel like his dad is still close and saying to him to mash the go pedal. God lives and loves all.
My tow tune whistles. Aside of that i think u need to open up those vanes. I’d rather have more of a deep lope than that whistle. More of the lbz sound is what I like. Obviously with some whistle
Some say the 9 blade accelerates better than the 10 blade but to me there isn’t much of a difference but the 9 blade is definitely a little whistlier if that’s a word 😂
Great video brother! My dream is to rebuild my 05 Duramax ground up with the “Truck Master” in a Marine Corps theme. I know he’s Army (which of course is an acronym for…well I’m sure he knows 😂) but what an awesome truck it would be! Of course Mark would rebuild my Allison diesel! There is no one who knows more than him about Allison transmissions. I was sitting beside my dad when he passed everyone else had stepped out for a “minute”.
My boss is letting me drive his old truck a 07 lbz dually 3500. It’s all HSP in the motor bay even y bridge. Efi with studs. thought my lmm got down This truck is a fucking rocket. I can’t say it any other way. It’s got a whistle about like that first truck. Not sure if it’s an upgraded wheel or maybe a cheetah That trucks sound could knock the pants off a nun. These trucks sound great too!
Josh I’m curious what kind of tuning needed for 64mm on my lml? I called and talked to ryan and he mentioned the truck would need re tuned for the 64. The truck is mainly a tow rig 15k plus pounds regularly
I got the same truck just in the extended cab version. My question is, I live in California and would like to upgrade my turbo but I have to keep the dpf and egr to pass smog. Is there a drop in turbo that works with emission on and is there any problems that can happen after! Thanks in advance! Btw great work man love your videos
I am looking at a rds pro stock 9 blade, I don't see anyone talking about them. I am doing a mild build on my lbz and was just looking for some insight on the turbo to see if it's worth going with .
Sir, I have a 2011 LML w/ emissions crap. I reside in California. I already have a 5" exhaust system, but if I installed one of Ryan's 64m 6 or 9 blade turbo, will I get that awesome whistling .
I’m going to be the odd man out here. Not a fan of loud exhaust and turbo whine. I know it’s a result of tuning and power increase and if that’s what you want it’s great, it’s not for me. My stock 2003 LB7 gives me every I need on the farm and towing our 24 foot camper. I can talk over it standing beside it when it’s running and it’s not loud on road trips.
@TruckMaster Thanks for the response earlier I new you were the one to ask!!!! I remember your had that regen problem or something like that with your brother delivering the truck if I remember correctly!!!! I know you fixed it no problems since!!! I'm a little scared of all that Def and regen stuff my other truck is a bullet proofed 6.0 none of that is on it!!! You seem to enjoy yours, the one I'm planning to get is for my business, my 6.0 will be my backup, and I just wanted your thoughts on it cause you know your Duramaxes!!!!
I do like the turbo sound but I think it's a little to much I also like to hear the rumble of the diesel engine. I prefer a Cummins sound to the Duramax
Hey man, I have a 06 duramax, and the red junction box mounted right up above/behind the power steering box that contains wires from the battery… I’m having confusion finding what they connect to, if not the starter because the positive cable is only about 2 1/2 ft, and I can’t seem to figure where they run after pulling my old engine and installing another..
How is the spool up. I installed a rds 64 10 blade on my lmm and it’s slow until 2000rpm, I want to know if it normal turbo lag or something wrong with my truck
“Did he know the Lord” your stock just went way up with me!!!
Right on! Said the same thing the second he said it
I am a Cummins man, through and through, but those Duramaxes sound good. Also, LOVE the real talk. Praise the Lord.
Thanks Peter
Josh condolences to your friend and thank you for being a thoughtful man of God.

Can wait to work with you guys 👍 thanks for everything
Awesome dedication to his father, this is what it's all about
This is so awesome. I'm currently building a Duramax squarebody and I dropped a 9 blade on the motor. Can't wait to hear it in person
Man! Great story. Praise the Lord.
This is something that I want to do to my LMM, but I'm thinking a 10 blade. Something that has a bit less whistle volume, fantastic job young man!
Thanks
Damn, I can't wait to get ours on
5" I have same truck. With ⁵", my next add on is the RDS 9 blade
My vote is for the 5”. Both sound great but I like the deeper note of the 5”. If you’re looking for a good muffler, definitely check out the AeroTurbine XL to make your road trips better. It’s certainly made a difference on my 6.7 Powerstroke for in cab drone/noise.
Currently running 4” on my Cummins and I love it.
Absolutely love the sound of the 9 blade best sound by far

5 in.takes the win, for me . The rust max wheels are going to look great when its all done . Love the color ya'll picked for that truck!
👍🏻🙏
Nate, you have to take me for a ride. You get to drive to our next golf outing. Glad to see you honoring your father. Great Job.

Amazed. Spell check will get you every time !
5” exhaust with the 9 blade sounds best!
So much fun. Sorry for his loss.

Awesome! Thank you!
Truck master hats off to you that’s was great what you and Ryan’s diesel did for this gentleman 👍
I have the same truck & turbo 300,000 still running strong ✈️
I like how they did their work and where they have their workshops.
I know where he’s coming from. Being raised a solid Christian my mother succumbed to cancer 2.5 years ago only two days before my father’s Bday. Can’t go wrong with either one. Both sound nice.
5” sounds better, but it would get old pulling my 38.5 ‘camper so I would go with the 4” . Plus I already have a4”👍👍👍
I don’t blame you the 4” is definitely not as obnoxious
I’d like to see this on a compliant L5P
My tow tune whistles. Aside of that i think u need to open up those vanes. I’d rather have more of a deep lope than that whistle. More of the lbz sound is what I like. Obviously with some whistle
I like the 4 inch. Ill be going up to Ryan's the first week of may to have the 9 blade installed. I cant wait.
Made your Duramax sound like a 6.0, I didn't think you'd miss that motor that much lol sick truck
Sounds amazing! Possibly more LMM content as I own one 🙏🏼
Is the 10 blade a little quieter? What’s the difference in performance between 9 and 10 for everyday driver and towing?
Some say the 9 blade accelerates better than the 10 blade but to me there isn’t much of a difference but the 9 blade is definitely a little whistlier if that’s a word 😂
I like a little extra whistle but a long tow trip it might drive me nuts. Anyway you can throw a 10 blade in and compare performance and sound?
I'm a big fan of the 4 in. Great video as always!
I like the 5” exhaust. I have the stealth 67 and alternate fire on my LBZ with the 5” sounds great
I like them both, but personally, I like the 5 inch better
Great video brother! My dream is to rebuild my 05 Duramax ground up with the “Truck Master” in a Marine Corps theme. I like the 5” exhaust sound
The rustmax is looking very nice 👍
I think so too!
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing.
They both sound good. The 5" I prefer better.
I like the 4” due to that’s what my 16 is going to have
I like the 4” just a little more than the 5”
Basically stock truck currently, it does sound nice.
4” all day everyday for the win!
I like the 5 inch that's what I have on my Cummins i would drive from Alabama to Michigan to have you put that kinda turbo on for me
Josh your truck sounds better with the deeper tone
I just put a 9 blade on my lbz and one of the positions on my tuner has a hiss and it’s super loud. I got 5in exhaust and its axle dumped.
4" exhaust and a 9 blade. 🎧
Josh I’m curious what kind of tuning needed for 64mm on my lml? I called and talked to ryan and he mentioned the truck would need re tuned for the 64. The truck is mainly a tow rig 15k plus pounds regularly
5" exhaust. The quicker that you get the exhaust out, the quicker you can let fresh air in.
I've always thought the same thing. But why are there some folks that say you need backpressure?
You have got to change turbo manufacturers. Switch to a fixed vein stainlessdiesal turbo.
That 9 blade sounds good brotha! Do you think the l5p would be hard to upgrade the turbo?
I love your vids man. I live in Lansing mi. Hopefully I’ll be getting a diesel here soon. And would love to bring it to you, and meet you some time.

Are you putting a nine blade on the truck you’re building. Much respect Josh love the content
Thanks! Unfortunately they don’t make a 9 blade for the non VGT turbos
@@TruckMaster be awesome if they did lol
Five. It’s definitely sounds better.
Dirty max!😅

5” FTW
how do you like the rds turbo i havent heard many good things about reliability
I’ve ran them on all my diesels over the last 4 years and I haven’t had one fail yet.
Do you know about how much to paint a 2008 Ford F250 with a little bit of body work needed like a range
A body shop would charge you around 25-30k possibly
Question!! I have a 8 blade holset turbo off a 1998 8.3 Cummins and was wondering if I could fit that turbo wheel in a 2005 duramax Garrett turbo?
Dang I’d love to make my duramax sound that good.
I like the 4inch
Hey good video as always!!! You know Duramax's would a 2018 6.6 be a good buy?? What are your honest thoughts??
If you have the money the 2018 L5P is a perfect buy
@TruckMaster Thanks for the response earlier I new you were the one to ask!!!! I'm wetting my pants that turbo sounds awesome
@TruckMaster where can I find this specific turbo or is this turbo made exactly for the truck in the vidro
Ryan’s Diesel Service
I do like the turbo sound but I think it's a little to much I also like to hear the rumble of the diesel engine. I prefer a Cummins sound to the Duramax
So this turbo is ok for a stock 6.6?…dig watching your videos
Yes definitely but you would need the turbo that doesn’t require tuning.
@@TruckMaster cool…thank you
@@TruckMaster my truck is an 2008….thank you!
Hi friend, I have a question, how much does it cost to change a turbo in a 2006 LBZ?
who the heck wants to listen to that especialy when towing

I wish these were available for the LB7
Dang. Trading in my truck now
I was wondering if there was something about that LMM that was gonna show up!
It just took me a while to post it 😂
@@TruckMaster hey I can’t complain for another video!!
Hi Truck master. I have a question about a 2003 LB7.
Whistle might be much on a long drive or maybe in town
How is the spool up. I installed a rds 64 10 blade on my lmm and it’s slow until 2000rpm, I want to know if it normal turbo lag or something wrong with my truck
It’s probably your tuning or a boost leak
@@TruckMaster yea I tested boost leak and there is nothing. Is there a way to email you about tuning?
4 inch in my opinion
So you don't need to have it retuned?
4 definitely sounds good but your 5 would to of u take it out the back instead of axle dump.
Looks harder then 6.0 powerstroke turbo
4in👍🏻
SOLD! link please?? 👍👍
I need to buy a big ass turbo for my 06 2500 duramax. Messages me with what you got
It sounds like R2D2 when he gets electrocuted!
When can you work on my LBZ!
