Hey Cam! Great reviews! One thing we've done in the States is get a few blocks of dry ice and set them slightly away from camp. As it melts, it lets off heaps of CO2 drawing those buggers away. Don't know what your access to dry ice is like there, but it's dirt cheap and keeps well wrapped up in the freezer. Pairing it with one of these types of devices keeps you completely mosquito free. 😊Cheers🎉

Bugs are always a Hot topic, I've been a subscriber ever since i got the 4x4 "bug" years ago , love everything about your channel. I started making my own repellant, melting down candle wax, mixing in ground coffee, pick the one you hate the most and crushed cloves. Once set it actually does work, I also burn the coffee in a heat proof container , I cut a beer can in half and used this, just sprinkle in the coffee grounds , throw in a couple pieces of fire lighters and let it burn , mix it around now and then, its also works well.

Lived in East NT for a few years and the Thermocell was the go.. I have first hand reports of blokes in a boat fishing with three thermocells going on dusk and did not get hit once by mozzies as well as midges. What was interesting was that one bloke had his shirt off the whole time the Thermocells were going to prove the point...he was the local Camping shop owner..who was proving a point as his shop was selling Thermocells. Yes you are right, Thermocells and their accessories are expensive to buy..there are "hacks" to original model Thermocell small plastic cylinder gas containers involving removing a valve..then you can refill them like a cigarette lighter. In respect to the pads...other mozzie pads can be used..I use the Mozzie Zapper pads made by Mortein..they do a good job and are cheaper than the Thermocell pads and they can be on special. Then for some reason...don't camp 3 days before or after a full moon if you can help it..because this is when the mozzies and midges are the worst. You can sprinkle in fresh Green Eucalyptus leaves into the fire to keep a fine smoke up, not to thick..you can see a purple green colour tinge from the coals and in the flames if you are doing it right. They had 30000+ years to perfect their camping styles..so who am I to argue...

Mosquito coils are great for repelling mozzies, only trouble is, they aren't so good for us. We burn them outside only. RID is what we use for rub or spray on and that really keeps them away but it doesn't smell great. DEET can cause rashes in a few people but it is rare and most medical literature seems to agree that it is otherwise harmless to us. (Just don't get it on your hands if you are fishing) We also run insect killing lights to help. If you itch when bitten by mozzies or sandflies use the hot spoon treatment. Put a metal spoon in very hot water, Leave it there for a few seconds to absorb the heat and then thake it out, wait about 2 seconds then apply the back of the spoon to the bite site. Hold it there until the spoon cools or as long as you can stand. This works for almost everyone as the heat seems to destroy the chemicals that cause the itching. You can buy little battery run devices that do the same job somewhat more safely and scientifically. The Beurer BR60 is one ot the devices that does this. I am happy to say I am immune to sandfly bites YAY!
We use standard mozzie coils at home but honestly I find them useless at deterring mozzies - they do smell nice though! 😁 I just try to limit chemicals that needs to be applied to skin, we sprayed our caravan entry handle with bushman’s years ago and it shattered an hour later 😳 Hemorrhoid cream is great for sand flea bites too 👌 Tiff never gets bitten either, lucky bugger!

One year up at Cleaverville I slept in the back of the old 60 series with all the doors open (it was stinking hot) and in the morning I counted 40 bites just on one arm. The first time I ever got bitten by the little buggers I itched for about 10 days but never again after that.
Cam . . . I'm commenting cos the first vid I ever saw of yours was the gas refill hack for the thermacell! It was such a game changer to make it wayyyy more affordable to run the thermacell 👌👍 Thanks again for that tip cos I still use it to this day and it's still the same thermacell unit going strong. I have also got a flextail electric model which works pretty well too but the catch with that is keeping it charged up which can leave you stuck whereas the gas is always instant. Haven't even watched the vid yet but felt inspired to write this because of your og vid 👌 thanks again Cam glad you're keeping it real 👍

I live in the states 🇺🇸& really depend on Thermacell when out in the bush. I use the rechargeable models . The Co2 signature is the reason why I don’t think much of the portable propane fire 🔥 kits that seem to be popular with Overlanders. They really attract the mosquitoes . 😂 Thank you for sharing.

@Mozfog did the free shipping end early? There was a countdown that had enough time to last into Sunday.. The 400 hour juice price went up $10 as well to make it seem like customers are saving more?
I emailed them the same question. It’s a mistake on my end- the free shipping was not part of my discount code, they just run a free shipping promotion periodically on their website and it just happened to be running when I screen recorded the shopping cart and filmed this video. The free shipping ended yesterday automatically on their website as their stock levels have flicked into low stock.
Mozfog has to be the best thing for mozzies, ive had for maybe 6 months and used for camping and my back yard, I use it under the alfresco area out the back and 20 min later there's not a bug anywhere 👌

Hi Cam, great review. We use the old-fashioned mosquito coils they work well for us plus I don't mind the aroma they put out when they're burning. We may, in the future buy the Mozfog based on your review though as it does look to be effective. Cheers BnB travels
I've had the thermoelectric for a couple of years and don't feel they work overly well and too expensive as you said. The aldi bought bug zapper I have works fantastic as I have to brush all the dead mozzie off each day.

Thanks Cam, I bought two of everything. Hopefully to get a better camp coverage as I found using the thermosel just by itself required very careful placement up breeze. Just got to be careful not to pick it up and attempt to drink it 😆

The Cam I, too, get eaten alive, l came across a product while in far North Queensland a couple of years ago the brand is called Good riddance. They have a range of products great for the kids and those with sensitive skin. Natural ingredients are really good creams for posts, been eaten
Get yourself a bite away for when you do get bitten. Little ceramic pad that heats and you put it on the bite, itch gone in seconds. Only thing that gave me relief from sand flies.
I too am a fan of Thermacell. I have two types. The one you have on this video, and the handheld version also. And as much as I'm a fan of them as they work well, I do agree with you of their on-going cost. So thanks for bringing Mozfog into my attention. I'm now in the process of placing the order for the complete kit using your code. Though it does not include free shipping (as per your video suggests). I've had the thermoelectric for a couple of years and don't feel they work overly well and too expensive as you said. The aldi bought bug zapper I have works fantastic as I have to brush all the dead mozzie off each day.
I run a thermacell backpacker and just buy replacement mats off of ebay for a fraction of the price of buying the branded ones

Thanks Cam, I bought two of everything. Hopefully to get a better camp coverage as I found using the thermosel just by itself required very careful placement up breeze. Just got to be careful not to pick it up and attempt to drink it 😆

Terrific video mate. I use Thermacell after my cousin was using one on a trip to the Kimberley. Might give the other product a go given it was developed up there.

The Cam I, too, get eaten alive, l came across a product while in far North Queensland a couple of years ago the brand is called Good riddance. They have a range of products great for the kids and those with sensitive skin. Natural ingredients are really good creams for posts, been eaten
Get yourself a bite away for when you do get bitten. Little ceramic pad that heats and you put it on the bite, itch gone in seconds. Only thing that gave me relief from sand flies.

I too am a fan of Thermacell. I have two types. The one you have on this video, and the handheld version also. And as much as I'm a fan of them as they work well, I do agree with you of their on-going cost. So thanks for bringing Mozfog into my attention. I'm now in the process of placing the order for the complete kit using your code. Though it does not include free shipping (as per your video suggests). Was the free shipping addition an error at your end?
I too am getting charged for shipping. So unsure if this is a website error, or Cam incorrectly indicated shipping is free.
Sorry that was a mistake on my end- the free shipping was not part of my discount code, they just run a free shipping promotion periodically on their website and it just happened to be running when I screen recorded the shopping cart and filmed this video! 🤦♂️

So thanks for the review. I had a look at Mozfog and will buy a set with your discount. But is free shipping included (as you indicated in this episode)? I'm being charge for shipping.
No that was my mistake! When I screen recorded the website and filmed the video MOZFOG were running a promo for free shipping (which they do occasionally). That promo ended today. It is flat rate shipping at the moment, and the code will make the 400hr refill free. Apologies for the confusion!

Does the Mozfog also work against midgies? I always get smashed by mozzies and midgies once twilight hits.

Ihave mozfog. It’s plant based. Can I use it inside my canvas roofed camper and my caravan
I personally wouldn’t run it in an enclosed space, not sure what the official recommendation is though!
I must cop them bad, none of them seem to work for me, always 20+ bites on camping trips, got 2 x mozfog with high hopes but no good either.
