Savage is trash and the best sweet spot for endgame difficulty is Ex Trials. Unfortunately Ex Trials don't really reward that much gear-wise compared to Savage. The gap between Normals and Savage is essentially the distance between WoW's Raid Finder vs Mythic, and with no difficulty in between except Ex Trials, Savage amounts to hours of anti-fun. This is doubly compounded with a giant number of FF's "raids" being jammed into the typical "arena with a deathwall" where you get to memorize a bunch of all-or-nothing mechanics, and a single mistake essentially wipes the raid (either immediately, or just in the future at the hard enrage). Bosses exist on a pure timer, down to the nanosecond, and boss abilities are thrown at exactly the same time every pull. Combine this with the 2 minute buff window meta and you essentially aren't "raiding" anymore - you're barely even playing the game. You're functionally just emulating a computer, attempting to replicate a sequence of events that is precisely predetermined to line up not only your movement and adherence to the raid mechanics where the "safe spot" just moves around on a timer, but your rotation needs to sync with 7 other people for the entire duration. Since few bosses have phases where they just progress to the next batch of abilities (or raise the tempo of existing ones to throw them in random order based on their remaining hp), this makes almost all Savage fights the same. Additionally with such tight boss scripting, incoming raid damage is much the same (go figure why many burn out on healing now with it being 2-button DPS in between what amounts to a predetermined heal pattern). With so many Savage mechanics causing instant death, dmg down, or vuln stacks that eventually will be lethal no matter what, there is pitifully little to actually OVERCOME with decision-making or thoughtful and creative use of abilities. Either you executed exactly what Square intended, or you didn't. No one wants to talk about that because Square won't be changing it - ever. I could explain why in detail, but tl;dr: Keep in mind a portion of this game's population still exists on PS4 and plays on console. As a casual raider, the markers really arent all that bad. Its all memorizing, and being patient with yourself. Esp with the new content, unless you wanna flex gear its not the end of the world if it takes a month or more to learn. The real challenge is finding people to do it with via a static 😂 or praying you get a good group in pf that is patient enough to let people practice. Best way to start is to pick what you play best and work on being so comfortable you can auto pilot it. In a variety of situations and party comps. That way when you do try it you will be able to pay attention to whats going on better, accommodate mistakes and keep up uptime.
@@inazumatan7050 P1S and P2S are also really good beginner ones, even if they arent current tier atm. Theres alot of uptime in both those fights, and the mechanics are easy to understand
The markers are there to make solving the fight easier. Everything becomes simplified down to "Walk from X marker to A" "Run from A > B > 1" ect. Each party will have their own markers that are just like visual map checkpoints you can use to keep track of stuff, it actually ironically makes it less complicated and intimidating once you're in the fight.
Finally I broke down after multiple weeks of P5S "duty completion" objective and meeting with people who failed at first puddle. Then with the final mindset of "if this next recruitment I open doesn't result in a clear I'll just unsub fck it", suddenly all my FC (without knowing my current dilemma) jumped in my recruitment. All 7 are P8S graduates. Despite their 628+ gears, their DPS is very average, and they didn't consume food. We cleared it 2 mechanics before Sonic Shatter even commences. Just in one pull. "Not one mistake, how long have been trying this for?" "3 weeks for a clear" "3 WEEKS??? And you didn't think to ask FC for help?? WTF is wrong with you??? Do homework P6S, see you next reset" From desperation to a complete reinvigoration. In one pull. FFXIV never ceases to amaze me
I’m happy that you can get the same drip from doing the normal raids albeit at a lower ilvl, savage raiding is a toxic cesspit when the raid leader cares all about parsing and giving no advice or tips more than learning mechanics and not dying
and since they cant be dyed, it ruins the point of having the glamour item unless you can find things that match the color scheme. especially when you dont want to just throw on a whole set and have some basic ass glamour.
2:30 A huge mood. I'm casual af and I don't want to raid for that sweet drip. No matter how much I need it. That's why my WoL currently looks like a homeless degenerate compared to the insane sea of glamour I'm forced to drown in every time I visit limsa and old sharlyan. I should raid and suffer under the weight of being a shitty healer. Worst Sage ever and only seen a raid guide once and don't know the mechanics while barely making item lvl requirments. Of course I'll join.
As a filthy Casual myself i never got to the point saying to myself "Ok, these weeks i will torture myself for that piece of armor or weapon wich are absolutely irrelevant in a few weeks anyways"
"Have you ever joined an aim to kill for it to only be Devour prog" Every Party Finder run is Devour prog until proven otherwise, that's just the truth of the universe
raid is fun if IF you are either tank or dps that or have a good static/friends otherwise being a healer is just hell specially if is you first ever raid in ff14 because the game never teaches you that you must do good dps rotation and to forget that you have single gcd healing which you never use in raids , plus we have pf , at least in this tier everyone must cooperate and work together to mit and do mechanics which are quite a challenge for pf the biggest example of this is barbariccia bloody hell, it take me over 20 pf to complete it and most werent even practice party ppl. tldr is just hell and the main reason why healer in this tier give up like me f pf :x
I feel the same way about Red Mage. It's only slightly improved over the years, but god it is so fucking boring compared to any other dps. But that damn rez and heal....

How do you encompass everything I love and stand for? Dragoon is the BEST DPS job in all of the game but I prefer playing White Mage even if I despise it sometimes Also this tier is ASS
Self satisfaction? Not everyone's just checking off a bingo card "yep completed that one", doing content when its relevant and difficult is satisfying, PF monkey barrel just makes it hard.
is not like we tank don't want to reprisal the heavy raidwides is just we don't have it for the next big raidwides since 1 is reprisal of the TBs which hit like a .... just imagine you put your face in front of a shotgun with incendiary ammo point-blank. we want as many mits as possible on TBs so the Dots don't ticks for 50k
@@zinga6076 I found a static the people their so chilled we tend to joke around but I gets ya I heard this tier has so much drama. Right now our lil group is doing Another sil'd but yeah soon I plan on getting my feet wet.
If you can find a group of casual players that don't think being the 16,234th to clear content is an achievement worth rushing/stressing for, raiding can be fun. But like the video creator stated, statics don't last very long. If there's more than one gender/sexuality in the static, it's a matter of when it'll break, not if. Someone eventually falls in love, or gets creepy. It took me nine years to get my friends to stop caring about early prog and parses, and just try to have fun playing with friends. Uphill battle.
The main reason why pf is so hard is because content creators make guides when they themselves haven’t even cleared the fights yet 😂 cuz they can’t even clear the fight with their own guides 😂 like alqaeda training pf terrorists , and sheep follow the guides religiously even tho the strats are so bad.

Regardless though, hope I get the chance to take you up on the offer. It'll definitely be a while from where I am in the game right now but I'll keep it in mind.
@@yeetusdeleetus4697 your not lying at first i thought some of silkie mechanics were hard but as I sat down thinking about it. I stop over thinking his mechanics and it became much easier to do.
Not even savage, A2C EX4, wiped on phase 1 or 2. EX3 Loot party with echo on, wiped too.
Let me make use of my time better, I'll just go get some gold or black nucleus exploring tower of fantasy map, or binge through genshin quests I haven't done since chasm. I'll keep on being filthy casual. New Relics, glams (finally got all aglaia parts for all jobs). happy with those, no drama.
im a SAM main and i feel insecure every single savage raid and i dont know why
3:50 Yea i lost like 6 of my friends who i deeply treasured for half a year, just because we raided once and i was terrible, i was so flamed i left them. Not sayn i wasn't shit, i was so much, but i have never seen such spiteful people, it was deeply humiliating what i heard and thus left. It truly breaks friendships and i wov to not raid with friends.
Edit: Im back baby PF main Hydaelyn's strongest player yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I gotta admit I played about 1k hours now but Im so nervous to join any savage runs just because im intimidated by all the markers n shit
P5S is such a good fight to get into Savage. The mechanics are really easy to understand; there’s just big consequences to messing them up.
"Not one mistake, how long have been trying this for?"
"3 weeks for a clear"
"3 WEEKS??? And you didn't think to ask FC for help?? WTF is wrong with you??? Do homework P6S, see you next reset"
From desperation to a complete reinvigoration.
For the glam? You really only need to do the normals unless you want the weapon. The normal gear has the same visual effects as the savage gear.
but savage is dyeable :o
and since they cant be dyed, it ruins the point of having the glamour item unless you can find things that match the color scheme. especially when you dont want to just throw on a whole set and have some basic ass glamour.
Crazy you did all this to get the glam when you get it from the normal mode.
I may hate raiding, but the music do be kinda fire tho 🔥
watching this as i wait for a p9s reclear pt just to get stuck again with monkeys
yes yes, im using this tier PF too T_T
(this tier is brutal for PFs clears & prog..)
Raiding is for NEETS, streamers and hikkikomori.
Nice video, I think it could use a better ending, talking about the music is a random point to end it. Still liked it.
As a filthy Casual myself i never got to the point saying to myself
"Ok, these weeks i will torture myself for that piece of armor or weapon wich are absolutely irrelevant in a few weeks anyways"
Wait my guy i have one question Zinga i must know how to am I to join in to sweaty cage of savage :o
ahhh suffering, the only emotion WHM mains have
"Have you ever joined an aim to kill for it to only be Devour prog"
Every Party Finder run is Devour prog until proven otherwise, that's just the truth of the universe
raid is fun if IF you are either tank or dps that or have a good static/friends otherwise being a healer is just hell specially if is you first ever raid in ff14 because the game never teaches you that you must do good dps rotation and to forget that you have single gcd healing which you never use in raids , plus we have pf , at least in this tier everyone must cooperate and work together to mit and do mechanics which are quite a challenge for pf the biggest example of this is barbariccia bloody hell, it take me over 20 pf to complete it and most werent even practice party ppl. tldr is just hell and the main reason why healer in this tier give up like me f pf :x
I chuckled with Menace in option 2.
why is option 1 so real?! Going nuclear was infact an understatement. Things we do for drip.
I feel the same way about Red Mage. It's only slightly improved over the years, but god it is so fucking boring compared to any other dps. But that damn rez and heal....
This makes me miss Smug. 😩
bruh
P8S is a static killer.
The suffering is all part of the journey. Party finder is torture. Fun if you're a masochist. But torture for anyone else. If you do really want to get into raiding, find a static. Good company makes raiding so much better.
This video was a banger
Just admit it your hooked on Final Fantasy 14 just like me and everyone else that plays 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Here's a trick. Get into an FC or decent ground and run it all on unrestricted lol
I just wanna say I like your characters name.
Well sadly I just got the game lil bit ago with 4 friends and we are a all in 40s ATM so no raiding for me for awhile
This video had me dying after work thanks lol
As I am going on 3 years of progging TEA. I realized I should've just paid for it XD
1:21 Jojo chad posing
amazing video XD I laughed my ass off
Option one is best
You could have just started with, "I Raided as a Healer."
Everyone who knows, knows.
Imagine not skipping Cachexia2.
How do you encompass everything I love and stand for? Dragoon is the BEST DPS job in all of the game but I prefer playing White Mage even if I despise it sometimes
Also this tier is ASS
Yeah, never really got the point of prog raiding. Just wait a few years and it becomes a lot easier.
Self satisfaction? Not everyone's just checking off a bingo card "yep completed that one", doing content when its relevant and difficult is satisfying, PF monkey barrel just makes it hard.
I don't know who told u u r funny
is not like we tank don't want to reprisal the heavy raidwides
is just we don't have it for the next big raidwides since 1 is reprisal of the TBs which hit like a .... just imagine you put your face in front of a shotgun with incendiary ammo point-blank.
we want as many mits as possible on TBs so the Dots don't ticks for 50k
0:50 reason for playing Female Au Ra probably
As someone who plays ffxiv since 9 years with all jobs maxed level i feel much better to not to be savage raiding anymore. My mind is at peace
You made the only correct choice
@@zinga6076 I found a static the people their so chilled we tend to joke around but I gets ya I heard this tier has so much drama. Right now our lil group is doing Another sil'd but yeah soon I plan on getting my feet wet.
This is why i don’t do Savage raids. Even though I wanna try for the Abyssos Scythe but I don’t want to subject myself to torture
Uphill battle.
that's was a really long way of saying you cleared p5s XD
but i know what u mean
;)
Female Au'ra is bis and i'm completely biased
Prog raiding is the only fun part of the game tbh, just don't do it via PF.
What exactly is "suffering" about living in the United States?
Idk, dudes probably some europhile or a jew who wants his ubi and "free" health-care.
Everything
Something tells me there is drama surrounding your ex-static, do share
It doesn't help that you went to join raiding in the worst tier in a looooooong time.
ngl this tier has made me have a mental breakdown w/ some of the playerbase this tier. like this tier has the worse of the worst people. not in terms of just only gameplay but disgusting, toxic personalities.
where do you play? O_o
i’ve had my fair share of PF™ experiences this tier but haven’t encountered too much toxicity. out of the 2 tiers ive experienced this one has been a lot more frustrating than the last, although i may be biased since the current tier is still going on lol
Raiding is fun
Scream is mid at best compared to the rest of FF14's soundtrack
how u play whm but still parse 0 on healing lol
The 0 means 0th percentile among white mages. It only means that you’re doing less than the other white mages
@@RunRunRun1901 bro that still means out of the thousands of white mages who parsed, you’re still worse than them lmao
@@untrustingstatue, yes, but then the qualifier “whm” is irrelevant
@@untrustingstatue Atleast if i see a grey/no parse I'm like "Maybe they can do it/do better" if I see a hidden profile I'm just like nope, no way, no chance, not in a million years will I even bother goodbye.
Healing parse means nothing tbh. Only thing that matters is combined healer dps.
third option: be in a casual fc with only one guy who actually regularly does savages and knows what hes doing (he will be your babysitter for the entire tier)
Why are gray parsers allowed to have TH-cam channels.
imagine not clearing week one with PF
Prob just a generic glare mage
Git gud
The Shatner speak is a big yikes...
Honestly this tier was a bad one. So many mechs just blend together its mind-numbing. Also all of the mechs where if one person messes up we all die in 8. It makes it so punishing to learn and makes prog stagnate since even if you did it right with 7 people the 8th screwing up ends the run anyways. Hopefully next tier is as good as the first tier the expansion.
