- From Mr Robot Season 1 Episode 9 "eps1.8_m1rr0r1ng.qt" A flashback shows a young Elliot and his father in his computer repair shop "Mr. Robot". After the birth of their child, Joanna tells Tyrell that he needs to keep in control if he "wants to be part of this family". Tyrell is fired from E Corp - his final act is to prevent Gideon from reverting the honeypot. Mr. Robot takes a trip with Elliot to his childhood home. Angry, Elliot pushes Mr. Robot out of a window and then takes him to a graveyard. Mr. Robot tells Elliot not to let Angela and Darlene "get rid of him", and that he will always love him. When they arrive, Elliot, alone at the grave of his father, realizes he had taken on his dead father's persona the entire time, saying "I am Mr. Robot". Terry Colby offers Angela a job at E Corp. Elliot now doubts the continuation of his Mr. Robot/fsociety plan. Tyrell threatens Elliot about fsociety's plan - Elliot takes Tyrell to the arcade and understands that he will carry on with the hack. They agree to work together, but Elliot glances over to the popcorn machine where Darlene's gun is hidden.

Really liked how Tyrell and his wife spoke swedish/danish, made the series way more "realistic" in a sense.
also feels nice to get my Danish language/country represented once in a while, rather than America just turning Scandinavia into either Sweden or Norway
as a swede i can tell you that we dont understand what danes say unless u live in southern swedish lmao
Thank you for this, as a Swedish learner I was so confused why I understood him almost perfectly yet her not at all. I was beginning to think she spoke a completely different accent or even maybe Norwegian... but Danish makes sense. Thank you!

Philip is such an accurate representation of what a CEO is like. They present themselves as friendly visionaries blah blah. All the crap you see but behind the scenes, there basically sociopaths. Philip likely doesn’t feel remotely anything about firing Tyrell. Whether he did it or not this is simply bad publicity for him and anyone who isn’t an asset he will dump without a second thought. Even showing up to do it personally is just a formality to give the impression that he cares ( he doesn’t). CEOs are exactly like his because you need to be this detached to run a giant company
oh, and dont forget that CEO's are also big children who throw a tantrum when sth doesn't go their way, etc. It's a miracle companies even function with such CEOs .... right?

Looking back at this retrospectively, I'm struck by how awkward and embarrassed Rice initially seemed to be in delivering the bad news to Tyrell. He was always otherwise brutal and dismissive towards others, as indeed he became by the end of the scene when it became clear Tyrell could only beg and plead. I wonder if firing Tyrell was his call as claimed, or something he was instructed to do against his own instincts.
The only people that can order around price would probably be the other members of the deus group and i dou t any of them care about tyrell at this point. Seems more likely that Price prolly feels that something is off about tyrell since he never really seems to like him all that much and now hearing the rumors just wants to get rid of him to avoid unnecessary scandal
Well he thinks that Tyrell murdered a woman for scorning him. He's firing him, in an office, on his own.

@@stacetheface47 Sam Esmail is a fucking genius. Every shows seasons are getting weaker but Mr. Robot not. Every Season is better than the other. I'm very sure he wouldnt publish something that isnt good or weak. So a comeback, spinoff or even a movie would be absolutely awesome but sadly it wont ever happen
@@vapefybeatz3322 I adore Mr robot as well. I recommend The Expanse if you need to fill a void for a very good show. With that being said Mr Robot might be my favorite show ever and I've watched most of the critically acclaimed shows.

despite me feeling the same way, I'm glad it did. It deserved a good ending and not extra/dwindling seasons. They showed good form/discipline by ending when intended imo.

When I first watched this series, I never even realised Tyrell and Johanna speak two different languages. Now, I’m married to a Swedish man and can understand 50% of their conversations. (You can probably guess which half.) Feels so weird.

@@abhiroopdas3232cuz it just that i found the ending way too bland and unrealistic in my opinion it's was just like the matrix 3 all over again at least despite having an ending that didn't make any sense and an epic battle it's was better than having to see the dude going to an hospital while all of his life was supposed to be under a simulation seems very pointless to me tbh.

I just started watching this series now I've watched 4episodes of season 1, and this is what I was looking for all the time.
The he shuts him down after Tyrell lashes out is sooo cold I’m stealing that
I knew right away that the actor playing Phillip Price, Michael Cristofer, is a primarily theatre guy. He has such magnetism and his mannerisms are just so on point, he kinda reminds me of some teachers I've had in a good way
I don't know why but Tyrell reminds me of Bateman from American Psycho.

it's actually a tactic they use to present the truth as something crazy then circle back to it over and over each time, more convincing.

@@TheStickofWar She's speaking perfectly normal danish, but she's emotionally whispering which makes it difficult to make out the words if you're not familiar with the language. First time around I, a dane, didn't even pick up on her speaking danish, but after I adjusted my hearing to listen for it, she doesn't have any weird accent or anything, she's just mumbling ^^

In any other show I feel like Tyrell's initial pass at the wife would've worked but here it immediately failed with her telling her husband the same night.

I forgot about the hobo thing, he beats them to a pulp after he doesn't get the job right ? I remember him helping with 5/9 as I remember the finale but it's crazy what I forgot about season 1
@@LudaChez It's because the show just grows into this raving monster by Season 4. So much more has happened by the end of the show and so it's easy to forget what happened in the three seasons before.

These high executives remind of something ah yes they act like the ancient Greek Gods, it wasnt a happy time on Mount Olympus a lot of mistakes and blind ego runs the game, so whats the relevance, they start to act like gods, and they created a world for the workers of the company and control even more from the consumers

Huh, sounds like she's speaking a fairly typical version of danish, she sounds like she's from somehwere in the copenhagen area. I can understand why it'd be hard to understand since she's speaking really softly, but her accent is very "basic" danish.

I think I know the problem why the clips aren't as popular. Advice to the uploader: try to get a single snippet from a show: for example I think the clip could have ended with the threat to tirrel from his wife. And make the snippet names more descriptive.

I mean I liked the level of creepiness that Tyrell and his wife storyline added to the season one but they literally had no idea on how to write any kinda scenario that could work with them by the end of the story and that was kinda disappointing
Tyrell had potential, but his writing and crazy acting ruined him. The wife could have worked as a Lady Macbeth sort of character, but instead she came off as totally insane and horrid.
I disagree. I see where you’re coming from, but to me, Tyrell and Joanna serve as dark omens for Elliot. They both showcase what happens when one allows an obsession to consume them, something that almost happens to Elliot. In other words, the ends of their stories are warnings for what Elliot’s fate could be if he allowed his obsession to consume and define him.
Alot of people are laughing but they never been in the career position tyrell was in , I think he needs a spin off show on Corporate ladders and jealousy etc

Yep, but I can see why it'd be difficult to pick up on. In modern danish we often sort "imply" a lot of the letters in casual speech rather than speaking the words clearly as they're written. So a sentence like "Kan du ikke lige gå ud og tjekke om der er nogen ved døren?" Sounds more like "Ka du ik li gå ud og tjek om der nong ved dørn?" That combined with her mumbling prolly makes her very hard to understand to a non-dane

This series was absolutely amazing......until the end of season 2 when they pulled a Dexter move, the last couple of series got all emotional en trying to create drama, same with Dexter.
