- From Mr Robot Season 1 Episode 3 "eps1.2_d3bug.mkv" Tyrell is enraged that Scott Knowles was chosen for CTO. To let off steam, Tyrell pays a homeless man to allow him to beat him. Cisco demands that Ollie infect Allsafe with the same CD. Elliot believes he is done with fsociety. Tyrell seduces his boss's male secretary and installs software on his phone. Attempting to be more normal, Elliot asks Shayla to accompany him to a party, she accepts and they become romantically involved. During the party, fsociety leaks E Corp's emails that incriminate Colby for covering up a toxic waste leak that caused leukemia in Elliot's father and Angela's mother. Tyrell ties up his pregnant wife and ball-gags her upon her request. Ollie confesses both his infidelity and Cisco's demands to Angela. Fearing identity theft, she wants him to infect Allsafe with the CD. Elliot returns to fsociety. Allsafe CEO Gideon Goddard becomes suspicious of Elliot's story regarding the E Corp attack, and begins to investigate.

Unfortunately most shows don't show this but it always happens in real life. Think of a journalist getting arrested for transporting snowdens leaked files. Whether it's "for the greater good" or not is always a tough question.
That's what happens to good people in real world
Even Philip Price mentions it. "Always terrible when bad things happen to good people."

Notice he doesnt have it around "real" people like Shayla, Darlene, Angela. He only gets the anxiety around the fakes.

@@bfapple Thats true, Gideon was cool. But I think he still gave Elliott anxiety because he was a supervisory role over him.

@@ChairmanMeow1he feels mad guilty since Gideon trusts him so much until the very end. He constantly wants to back track on the plan so gideon isn’t held accountable. Crazy how he gets handled by some random in a bar.

Everyone nailed their roles in this show, absolutely nailed their roles.
Everyone except the young Elliots...they were always the worst and awkward. Oh well, it's not easy for a kid to be good at acting.

Watching now I realize that Young Elliot and Elliot's Mom are reacting to the news of the data dump as well, because they've also just found out from the news release about Elliot's Dad's death cause. (At least, that's what I interpret.) This show is even more brilliant in the rewatches.

I haven’t had the chance to watch this show yet, and I can’t wait to watch it with what I’ve seen on TH-cam, but I just can’t get over the fact the big, evil corporation is literally called, Evil Corp. Like how in the world are you going to work for EVIL CORP!!!

It isn’t actually called evil corp , I think within the first episode Elliot explains to us that he reprogrammed himself to convert e corp to evil corp whenever he sees or hears it
The sign in the last scene says "IC ETS". this makes me think of ETs like aliens - "I see aliens"

how he able to temper the dat file without changing the md5checksum signature as same on main servers
I'm guessing that they didn't bother to check if the hashes matched because he just changed its directory before modifying it. Although the hash could definitely be checked automatically so i guess that's a fault in the writing. Also it is apparently possible to modify the hash. He could add junk data to the file to keep randomising the hash until he arrives at the original one.

md5 was proven to be flawed long time ago. Turns out it's pretty easy to generate hash collisions. That's why SHA-256 is the new standard.

SEASON 5 GANG
I felt this show had a tad unrealistic aspect to it, which is the way the characters deal with awkwardness. In real life situations like the one where the guy asks Elliot how long they were together would be fucking painful for everyone involved. And nobody would just be like "welp lets continue with the next thing haha". What would happen is that everyone would loathe the situation and the meeting overall, and try to get out of it asap. The hosts would seem like they're trying to finish as soon as possible. The boyfriend would start being defensive about his gf, cause Eliiott's clearly on a mission here. And the way she asked him why he's fidgeting at the start is weird too, it's super awkward when somebody makes a compliment and gets zero response. It's not really natural imo
Tbh Eliott gets way to much love throughout the season. Ppl are always understanding of his awkwardness and friendly. It's never like that irl. For good reason. Its annoying to talk to people like that.
You’re treating Elliot like he isn’t super special. Not only that, but the Elliot that we see that is super awkward has only been alive for a few months. The Elliot that is more social is in his head. When someone starts to act differently after you have known them for years and years, you tend to be more Lenient

didnt know about this show before but man this is an awful representation of someone that actually has elliot's skills. totally divorced from reality but it is, then again, a show
- most of the hacker types i have met do fall into the stereotype of having a lot of social anxiety, at least in my experience, and I guess almost everyones since its such a widely known and accepted stereotype.
I think it’s accurate. For some people it becomes an addiction, an obsession, and then it becomes second nature.

Yeah Elliot has the personality of a zombie. Almost non responsive communication with other people. I think its meant to contrast with his inner monologues.

he's supposed to be a social and friendly guy but then his alter ego personality is vegetative and borderline comatose and NOBODY questions it or is seriously weirded out.
