Absolutely love the title Clayton! Love that your videos are not clickbait and the content is always top notch. The fact you are always chasing trophy sized fish is awesome too
It’s always tragic when we lose a fellow angler. alot of time people are taking risks at early ice to get to those spots that hold fish. These incidents can be avoided! Clayton is a few weeks behind because he’s been checking ice probably daily which is incredibly responsible. Now that he’s found ice he feels comfortable on will start to see more and more videos regularly. Both him and Jay constantly preach safety first. Have patience boys because no fish is worth your life! Please stay safe this season ❤🎣
Great message Clayton. Coming from someone who didn’t follow those rules two years ago and spent so long in the water I had to be treated for hypothermia. I can’t believe people would be critical about ice safety.
I have always preached safety and take all the precautions especially on first ice. I was the first on a local lake a couple years ago. I made the paper, the news, and got so much hate and backlash on social media and pages that i just got rid of social media. People just dont do their homework and spew hate when they see something they don’t agree with unfortunately. Keep it up Schick love the content
Im getting more and more pumped for ice fishing. Im getting seriously close to being able to fish my favorite laker lake. Thanks for everything you put out Clayton
Another great video in the amazing outdoors. What a shot with that last light walleye and a beautiful sky behind you. Love the rewards of early ice, and you did a great job showing how much time is spent on checking and being safe. Thanks for the awesome vids, keep'em coming!
Great opening comment. People should learn from people like you and Jay instead of blaming. If a person has all the appropriate safety gear, uses it properly, and is willing to turn back when it’s unsafe then the drive to the lake presents more risk then the ice. Your videos are awesome keep them rolling.
If anything, you should be commended for showing how to check, and safely fish the early ice. Even the guys that have gone through, and still posted the vid , are offering an educational experience so others can learn from their misjudgment, and how they overcame the situation. All you can do is try to educate...but there will still always be the occasional pole licker out there. Thanks for sharing your early ice experience!
as a kid my dad always taught me about spudding and levels of ice thickness stages of ice development refrozen ice so forth but one thing he forgot witch a few years almost killed me was warning about other ice fisherman's holes that are snowed over someone cut huge hole never marked it that night it snowed i went out and fell threw it .i just have to say for those huge hole cutters pleas mark your holes and be safe
Been ice fishing for quite a few years. Never really took safety as a priority until last year. I finally bought a spud bar last year and got myself some ice picks this year. Went fishing last night with my ice picks around my neck and spud bar in hand. Yours and Jays video have definitely made me think and change the way I fish to include safety as a main priority.
Great video as always! Thanks for showing that new jig. Saw those online and wasn’t sure what the difference was. Will definitely try them out with live minnows!
Keep up the awesome work Clay! Don’t worry about the haters, you and Jay always stress ice safety, anyone that says otherwise is being foolish. Keep em coming brothah!
Prime Time Baby! Love the Prime Time Walleye bite! Can't wait to hit the hard water... hopefully this week or next weekend. Great video, as always, Clayton!
because of u , I learned from u long time ago how to be safe on the ice . how ever there r some people who have no common sense and should never live home. they should be supervised 24h/year. because of those good people get harassment. thx for the great videos u make.
For those who don't takes safty first it not only your life your affecting your family the search and rescue everyone is counting on you to stay safe be safe.
Thanks for preaching safety instead of some others that bring an auger and two spins she’s through. I won’t be the first on the ice but probably not the last either.
Great video :) . Safety is priority # 1 , we all want to get on top of our favourite hole but it will always be there . What’s another week right ? Just got off lake kenogami , we had a solid 10” of ice and still decided it was best too spud our way out to deeper water. Glad we did , the ice went from 10” in one spot and not 25 feet later only had 2”. One fairly large patch of snow was enough to cause such difference in ice conditions. Always take your time , we found a safer route, marked the bad ice , and got one woke walters 😊
The hole covers? Love them!!!! Can’t find them🤷♂️ I know you’ve said it and I’m sorry but no luck. Thanks for all you do 🎉🎉I come up there, I’m from Minnesota will definitely look you up.
I know you are a huge supporter of safety first. There are a few out there that push the envelope. I personally need 6" of ice. I know i miss some opportunities, but know I still have opportunities!
Great comments at the beginning of the video. It only takes one Naysayer to make an errant comment. We watching your videos know better. Love the early ice videos!!!
Awesome video ill be out this friday filming for my channel been out twice now so i know the ice is great and i get that alot when people say about youtubers
Man I love the first and late ice bite. Not sure when il see it in western ny it’s supposed to be 50 degrees on Sunday. Last year was the same no quality safe ice unless travel 4 hours north.
I sometimes take safety one step further and actually wear my life jacket when conditions can change while I'm out or while checking new ice that i don't know the ice thickness. I might look like a dork, but id rather look goofy than risk it all.
it's crazy accross canada everything is freezing up and here in Southern Ontario we're still seeing days 10 Celsius and above and still have the boat out
Perfect intro dude! Not all of us are Donkey's with their safety. Nobody every wants to go swimming or even worse. On a side note, what brand of tripod do you have on your Livescope transducer? Keep up the vid's.
Although I can't walk all that good yet I was able to get on the ice the last 3 days and man them fish were biting really good. Tomorrow I'm going out and I'm gonna try to catch a few really nice pike
i use an impact with a long spade bit with an extension and a stop at 4". if i hit the stop and dont see water coming up I know im good. faster and lighter then a bar
Don’t worry Clayton. We all know your reputation is safe with us. Don’t listen too nay sayers. I was out on four inches of ice today in southern Manitoba
I will say in my next video :) I usually don't give out info at first ice because the ice changes so fast and I don't want 100 people there the next day, or else something bad could happen.
Clayton you donkey lol , way to redeem your self, prime time love it, oh how I have the itch bad now Great work, safety refresher course never hurts and a little education and research too. Always watching for that next video 🎣 southern Ont sucks here’s hoping I don’t have to drive 3 to 5 hours for safe ice like last year cheers…
When I was ice fishing yesterday a group of 4 idiots walked out on the ice without checking it. They assumed it was safe because I was out there. They all walked huddled together not knowing the ice was 3 inches thick and they all fell through. Never walk close to someone on early ice especially if you didn't check to see how thick it is
Had a guy walk towards me on 3” black ice . Safe for one careful guy but GTF away from me dude. Had to yell when he was 20feet out. Water started to come up the hole as the ice bowed .Totally know what you mean dylonpress7034 . And I had my life vest and ice picks, he had nothing
I had talked with Aaron after he went in, and he admitted that is was soo bad for him to be where he was that day... No one knows actually how close he was to losing his life...
Good for you for advocating for yourself, and for safety. Cant ever be too careful out there folks! Safest ice season yall!
Can never be too safe :)

Clear ice is the best, seeing those fish fight to the hole is so nice! Heck yess! 🤙🎣

Crazy how people will blast someone from the couch when they have no clue how thick the ice is :)
A lot of times it’s people who don’t even fish !! Sadly
Great video Clayton! Especially that pack of walleyes cruising toward you like a flock of sheep! Awesome!

Little pike were all I could get yesterday 😐 ....better than nothing though! Another good one Clayton.

Definitely couldnt drive on that haha great video Clayton!
Nope! Not yet :)
Great video. What cold water gloves would you recommend?
A buddy turned me on to those foolers. This year I'm using bait runner reels on them to combat the wind.
Yes sir! 💯💯🙏
Thanks to Clayton's safety tips I was successful to safely fish on 4 inches of black ice

Hopefully soon!

Does Clayton ever go out and NOT CATCH anything?!? Awesome video as always Clayton!

Yes :)
Hey Clayton are you not using otter gear anymore? See that you have been using Eskimo gear in the 2023/24 season?
i use an impact with a long spade bit with an extension and a stop at 4". if i hit the stop and dont see water coming up I know im good.
faster and lighter then a bar

Just got back from icefishing on 2in of ice lolz really solid tho caught 9 rainbows 2 over 18in all small cookie cutters

The height is good! It's actually perfect for me.. I am about 5 foot 10 with no the longest legs in the world haha
