Awesome video bud! Especially like how you got the picture in picture of the fish finder with the story being told on the screen. Used to love fishing on the reservoir Rye lake reservoir in New York. 90 feet of water, I use my fishing buddy, side finder sonar. Trolling flutter spoons or sawbellies, something like that. Then you float over a school of fish. It would look like a parade on the screen at 60 feet. then you get ready for the Rod's to go off. Never thought of doing this on the ice. Especially now in New York. Ice doesn't get too thick downstate anymore
Just what can I say great job Clayton. My son and I just got back from two days of winter camping/ ice fishing for walleye and got a 42” pike on the rod was a great fight. Really enjoyed the video.

I rarely post too many comments but this video compelled me to. Clayton, THANK YOU for being so careful with those fish. I see so many youtubers that really don't get it. Those huge lakers are such a great fish and they deserve to be respected to be caught another day. So cool that you are prepared and get those fish back in the water as fast as you do. Well done, sir.
Thanks Jason. I really try to take care of those big Lake Trout as best as I can. No one really knows how fast 30-45 seconds is. Sometimes when I re-watch my videos I count time out of the water and even though I rushed the fish and was prepared it is still pushing 45-60 seconds. I would love to catch the same fish again 10 years from now :) Cheers to you!
So I’m high as shit right now, and I won’t lie, that first big lake trout you caught was by far the most exciting thing that’s happened during this crappy lockdown. That fish was huge!

Nice fish, truly a monster! I caught my PB rainbow yesterday at diefenbaker it measured 23.5 inches didn’t weigh it because we didn’t want to hurt the fish but online length to weight converters say it was 6+ pounds! Such a beautiful fish.. if you want to see it my Instagram is nathan.hurd31
DUDE!! 41 & 41.75 in ONE DAY!!? crazy, any laker chaser would love a day like that. It almost looks like you were on Clearwater, hmm (background looks pretty familiar)🤔...but those are some dark trouts, ours don’t usually get that dark, but I have caught a few darker than regular ones on Clearwater, haha. Imma be pissed if you were out here and didn’t shoot me an invite 😜 right on Clay, great video.
Only problem is: NO ONE can fish Canada. Except of course, Canadians... Have to believe fish populations will increase, particularly in areas of high US tourism.
Terrific job on setting and beating your PB ice laker on the same day! BTW I’m totally jealous as I had to cancel my dream laker trip to Wekusko this year, but am in for next year already. Fingers crossed.

Heck of a job landing those giants. Easy to see where those longer rods come in handy. Gear question. Are you using 2000 series reels? And what size of spoons are you using as your smaller presentation? Any "go-to" spoons?
